  • DVD player not working not not with win 8.1

Hello. I have the HP pavilion 15-e020TU laptop. My DVD player has worked with windows 7 and windows 8. After the upgrade to windows 8.1, the DVD player does not work. The Windows Device Manager find the DVD player, but represents a brand yellow error. I chose "update driver software" and then "automatically search for updates of driver software". Then the name changed from 'Mitsumi CD drive' to 'hp DVD A DU8A5SH'. And still does not. I installed the update of the firmware from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv481en&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jum... But a command prompt displays "error: no readers mitsumi found.» What can I do now?

    2. make sure that "Shockwave for Director" is present

    3. look for "Mozilla ActiveX Control and Support of plugins"

  • 12 Firefox flash player not working not not with Facebook video

Use Firefox 12, more recent flash player 32-bit - embedded video does not work on Facebook. I tried another computer with XP SP3, completely deleted firefox, flash, started in safe mode with Add ons disabled, even created a new profile with no addons in all and nothing seems to fix the problem. Video plays well in Internet Explorer. That said, YouTube works fine so I don't think it's a problem flash "only". (I have a right click on the video to make sure that the flash was to play the video and not html 5)

Starting from 07/06/12 @ 07:55 Eastern video works. It's funny, 15 minutes ago he was not! That said, I am now using Firefox 13 but the problem with Facebook's video seems to be intermittent and is therefore probably at their end.

  • DVD player not working not not on Satellite Pro U400-142

My DVD player does not work. I insert a disc, you can hear the drive works for some time, but then nothing happens. I checked the Device Manager' - under readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM it shows: MAST * A DVD-RAM UJ862AS, but there is a black exclamation point in a yellow circle next to it. I opened the dialog box 'Properties' and under the status of the device, he wrote:

"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware, but does not the hardware device. (Code 41)

I would try try to resolve the problem by reinstalling the driver. I checked Toshiba site for the driver, but can't find it.

I would be very grateful if someone could give me some ideas on how to sove this problem.

    Thank you

    P

What you can do is follow:
Remove the optical drive from Device Manager drive, restart your laptop.
The reader should be acknowledged and properly installed. If the same thing happens again try it please > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ8101LA0000R01.htm

    It works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've updated the BIOS (from 2.0 something (from 2000) this version 3.07 2001 or something I think.

Followed the instructions in the Readme file for the update of the Bios.

    Add memory (256 MB strips)

And it starts upui the first time without problem.

I thank you for your patience and continues to offer solutions, when it seemed hopeless. You are all a great examples for how to help someone fix their HP computer.
