CD player passes all tests but the computer does not start from cd player

CD player passes all the tests, but the computer does not start from cd drive. entered the bios and it specifically indicate to boot from the cd drive. Windows 7 installation disc does not start. Win 7 disk works in another computer to start. Why is it not this cd player read the disc and from the win 7 installation process?

I see this problem on systems having older IDE and SATA drives requiring firmware updates and assigned to the region 1 aka they boot from XP CD, but not DVD windows 7or media.

  • How can I reinstall windows xp when the computer does not start and there is no cdrom/dvd drive?

I have an Acer netbook aspire one.  It will not boot past the windows logo.  I have a windows xp disc to reinstall windows, but the computer has no CD or dvd rom.  Can I copy cd of windows xp on startup SD memory card and reinstall windows?  Or can I run connect the non working pc a working PC to access the cdrom on the work pc to reinstall windows?

First of all, you are mistaken when you say that the PC does not start.

This is clearly starting. The problem comes from Windows, not with the real PC. It's actually a very important distinction!

There are methods to repair Windows, but they can be a bit tedious. By all means, follow the advice given here to do if you're so inclined.

If you would not rather to repair Windows (and I think it's interesting a try) or your repair attempts are unsuccessful, apparently, you would need to use an external optical disc drive and follow the instructions here:

  • Compaq 6200 PRO MT: Makes the computer does not start after upgrade CPU

I have the HP Compaq 6200 PRO PC of MT 615114-001 motherboard and processor Intel Celeron CPU (LGA 1155). After I changed the CPU for Intel Core i5 (LGA 1155) computer does not start. He begins a minute (less than one second) and stops again. No beeps. After you have installed the Celeron back everything works fine. i5 CPU is brand new. What can be?

In my previous post, I explained the reason it has not worked, and listed the CPU that will work.

HP tests CPU in the laboratory and publishes a list of processors that will work in a notebook.

Notebook motherboard BIOS has a list of processors that will work. If it is installed, which is not encoded as OK in the BIOS ROM file, then this will not work.

Processors published (in the maintenance guide & Service for your nttebook series model) are available in models that can be deilvered in State CTO (configured to order).

  • upgrade fails 3A 15 vom: unpacking OK but the installation does not start

Current version is on my Windows 2000 SP3 my Firefox 3.0.19. I can't update anymore!
    There are two phenomena:
1.) when you use the function "search for updates", it offers a maximum version 3.0.19 upgrade.
2.) when I update manually (for version 15), it unpacks the files correctly but does NOT start the installation program - without ANY error message.

And I can't find any archive version here to try a progressive example version 5 or 10 upgrade, unfortunately. Are there not all archives?... Or what problem you think, I have?...

    Thank you for responding.

15.0.1 Firefox will not install on Windows 2000. Your best bet is to upgrade to Windows XP or later version, or install Firefox 12 of ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/12.0/.

For more information, see Firefox no longer works with Windows 2000 .

In addition, update your windows, you are missing a service pack

  • Unfinished system recovery - the computer does not start

I have a laptop Packard Bell EasyNote who was running slowly and decided to do a restore of the system using a restore CD I created for it (no disc has been provided by the vendors, some instructions on how to create a). In order to start from scratch, I decided to do a full restore, which means wipe the existing drive. I booted from the restore CD and everything seemed to go well until part way through it asked me to insert disk 2. I don't have one of the drives. Now, the system does not at all - it comes up with an error that BOOTMGR is missing and hangs up. I don't know what to do now. I tried searching for downloads on the site of PAckard Bell, but apparently not my particular model from the list. I tried to look on the Microsoft Web site, but it does not seem to recognize the product identifier on the Microsoft label on the base of the laptop. I don't know what to do to recover a working laptop.

    Hey Pete Skett

problem with the packard bell recovery media, or how it was made by yourself you will need to contact them for support

It's their recovery process and the media

    http://IL.PackardBell.com/PB/en/IL/content/support

I suggest that you ask them to send you a set of vista recovery disks that they should have for a nominal dollar cost and also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard disk to perform a recovery to factory standards

If you have a recovery partition, it will save you money

You can press F11 on startup to see if you can enter the recovery partition recovery process, if you still

Ask packard bell for the correct key sequence

  • The computer does not start

What to do if my computer Win 8 does not start - the operating system was supplied with the Dell hardware. After the Dell logo at startup, it's just a black screen with a few points, dropping in a circle (System busy)

    Hello

Are you aware of any material changes or software on the PC before this problem?

Video card problems are the most common cause of the problem of black screen.  In this issue, we do not know what driver update is causing the problem.

Disconnect all external devices (except keyboard and mouse) connected to the computer and check if it helps.

We will try to start the computer in mode low resolution and check the issue.

Low resolution starts Windows using your current video driver, and using the parameters of frequency low resolution and refresh.

To do this, please follow these steps:

    a. boot Windows 8 media.
    b. After selecting the parameters of your "language, time and keyboard', click 'Next' to load the next window, then click the"repair your computer ".

    c. you should then presented one choose a screen of the Option, with "Troubleshooting" option.

    d. click on 'Advanced Options' and click on 'start parameters.

    e. click "Restart" and choose option 3 to switch to low resolution mode.

    Refer to the section:

Turn on the video resolution (640 × 480)

If you are able to start low resolution mode, then perform a restore of the system and check if that helps.
Restore your PC to a closest in time

Let us know if it helps. If the problem persists, we will be happy to help you.

  • How to go in safe mode on Windows 8, if the computer does not start?

Recently, my computer won't start, suspended to the start screen. In order to diagnose certain things, I need to get through safe mode. In earlier versions of Windows, I'd use F8 to get in. However, this is not an option in Windows 8. How would you like to do in safe mode on Windows 8 if the operating system does not start?

    Hello

This gives a try... sometimes it will not work with multiple partitions of hard disks installed because it looks like bad... It might work from a repair also disc...

    1) start from the Windows 8 DVD
    2) click Next
    (3) select repair your computer

    (4) select troubleshooting
    (5) select Advanced Options
    (6) select command prompt

    (7) type - Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu Yes (note the spaces)
    (8) type - out

    (9) restart

    (10) to the start screen, select F8
    (11) to select Safe mode with networking

This can then be turned off when you are finished.

    (1) run by the lower left corner (Admin) command prompt right-click when Start appears.

    (2) type - Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu not (note the spaces)
    (3) type - out
