  I have the Satellite M70 with the same screen. I use it extensively almost 4 years now and display still works perfectly.
  Hardware failure is nothing exceptional for all electronic products. On some of them, some components are working longer. There is no general statement about it.

  Please contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and talk with them. Pick up information on the repair and costs.

  I have a portable satellite A100-197 and I have problems to read some games. Most of the games work very well, but I have problems to read games on Steam, as source of counterstrike and half-life 2.

  Before starting the game, I gives me an error message saying Steam does not recognize my graphics card, and when I go in the game there is no display, just a white screen. I am told by the error message I use ' Mobile Intel 945GM express chipset family "." I don't know hardly what to do, if there is something that I can download to fix this or if I have to buy a new graphics card.

  I think you just want your settings, but without the Toshiba Powersaver you won´t be able to do this since windows has no direct access to the hardware toshiba, a little more the powersaver.
  Maybe you should completely remove the HW tools & powersaver and reinstall it properly, this might help you.

  Is the laptop seems to support SATA hard drives and in my opinion one 250 GB or more should work.

  While seeking to buy a new laptop, I was offered the Satellite A100-237. This laptop is T2400 / 80GB / 512MB with screen 15.4 "and ATI x 1600 video.

  I searched in the Toshiba Europe website but could not find any trace for this model. Only when I googled I found that this model is sold in South Africa.

  My questions are:
  -What is the similar model sold in Europe?
  -Is this model a new or will be interrupted?
  -Is this compatible Vista model?
  -Is this compatible Merom (Core 2 duo) model? I know that other manufacturers offer instructions and BIOS update to upgrade Yonah for Merom.
  I couldn't find this information on the Toshiba web site.
