CD-Rom drive is currently disconnected as if it were a flash drive?

Hello!

My mother bought me a new nice DVD and I was unable to enjoy because, for some strange reason, my drawer won't open, and even after the open with a paper clip and put the dvd in manually, the disc will not be read. Wow what an endless.

I already have a diagnosis of BIOS and it went through my whole system and the CD drive shows no errors.

It specifically says this:

CDROM drive: 0

OEM: TSSTcorp, product: DVD +-RW TS - U633J, revision: WDC D600, S/N: I have to share it? LMAO, I think its fine, but no, I will not

and this on a different tab

* The CDROM Drive 0 - optical device built-in self-test *.

Test results: pass

I left out the BIOS and just whaling away on the eject button. It would open, I was closing, rinse, lather, repeat until the computer had loaded my office. After the Welcome screen went away, I heard the sound of little "dunk ka' your computer emits when a flash drive is currently disconnected. I flew over the icon Windows Explorerer and this shows upward, the disconnection of its played, the icon went away, and after that, whenever I hit the eject button, the tray would not eject.

It doesn't appear in Device Manager, even a small exclamation point

I downloaded Driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Pre-os Install) and TSST TS-U633J 9.5 mm tray SATA DVDRW Firmware update , but I'm pressed for time at the moment, so I was not able to do anything with them yet (I got an error, lucky me)

More precisely the error is when I run the TSST thing, it unpacks the files, told me that they have been unzipped successfully and then told me that the "player not found."

OK, so I continued anyway and I put the F/W as U633JD600.bin file and then he tells me ' List index out of bounds (2).

I don't know what to do!

I don't know even where to start!

All this hulabaloo I had to pay more attention when the drive works and where it is not.

This led me to notice that it disconnects when it is NOT plugged into a powersource.

I rebooted, plugged in, and it does not cut. I put on a DVD and began to play, disconnected from the power supply and that is, log out. Proven theory.

It turns out that the power level that I prefer, 'Extended Life Battery', which has a description that says, ' reduced energy consumption and extends the operating time of your battery in non-essential ports and devices power off and adjusting the display settings.»

Tension devices and ports non-essential

OH MY GOD YOU ARE REAL THAT'S WHY MY DRIVE WAS DISCONNECT?

ALL THESE FIXES REGEDIT, BIOS FIRMWARE SOFTWARE UPDATES WHAT I TRIED AND ALL I HAD TO DO WAS CHANGE MY POWER SAVER SETTINGS HOLY CANNOLI

It has been a day and half because I noticed it and solved the problem

It don't did me not a problem since then.

The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. Everything was fine.

    Hi storm36,

You must have the Windows XP disk to repair Windows. As the CD/DVD drive is not getting detected, we recommend you try the following steps and check the result.

Step 1: Check if the device is detected in the BIOS (basic input/output device)
    a. start your computer and press on delete key continuously to see the BIOS.
    b. check if the CD/DVD device is detected.
    c. If this isn't the case, then unplug the unit and he reconnected inside the CPU/Tower.
    d. check the result.

Step 2: If the device is detected in the BIOS, try the following steps:
    a. start your computer and boot to the desktop.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click ok.
    c. select my computer, click the Action menu and click scan for hardware changes.
    d. check if the CD/DVD device is listed in the list.

Step 3: If the problem persists, restore the computer
see How to restore Windows XP to a previous state .
    b. Once you have restored the computer, check if the CD/DVD drive is visible.

  • DVD/CD rom drive

I recently took my computer in to get fixed because it crashed.  When I came back, I found out later when I tried to use my DVD/CD rom drive that he had disappeared.  I have done research on the internet about it and found a lot of sites that talk about drivers update and deleting files in the registry to get back, but my problem is it disappeared completely.  Also, I got F, J, & K drives and they are gone also.  I mean gone... no linked files or anything like that.  So this made my DVD/CD rom useless player.  I call the guy who worked on my computer, but it is difficult to get your hands on.  My computer is a Dell 2009 Windows Vista desktop computer.  I can't even try to reinstall Vista as the hard drive does not work.  Can someone give me any ideas as what to do?  Is there anywhere I can download files to make it work again?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Other to try the information contained in the links, which you have used a part of, take it back to the technology that worked on your machine.

And we do not know if the connection cable it is physically disconnected if work done on your machine

There is a "Fix - it" Microsoft for your problem on this link

  • Satellite 1110-Z12: CD-Rom drive will not play copy controlled CD

    Hello

The CD-Rom drive in my Toshiba Satellite 1110-Z12 (bought 01/2003 in Holland) becomes completely unreadable when I insert a CD protected by "Controlled copy" (IFPI). And I mean, berserk, he upped power at an incredible speed of spinning - very strong - and afraid he will break down.

These are mainly EMI productions such as:
    -Norah Jones: Feels Like Home
    -Joss Stone: The soul Sessions.

I know that these copy protection systems can never break or damage the use on CD players (standalone or computer).

How can this be repaired? I never found the firmware update for the CD player on the Toshiba site.

As much as I m did know, is it possible that the General of music that are "Controlled copy" by IFPI do not work in the drive of your laptop.

  • Slim SelectBay DVD - ROM drive

I recently bought a second hand Satellite Pro, but it seems to be without a DVD player and has only a weight saving plastic 'trick' in the Slim Selectbay.
I know that my laptop is now discontinued, but it is anyway to acquire a Slim SelectBay DVD - ROM drive, because they are not for sale in the "Accessories" section.

    Hi Mikey

In my opinion, you should contact partner in your country. They can order each hardware component or any part of the accessories for each model of laptop computer independent of how old the model has.

  • Question about Tecra 510CDT computer laptop CD Rom drive

    Hello

A friend just bought this laptop second hand. Everything seems very well despite the age. The only problem is when I swap the floppy for the cd rom drive drive. The screen is blank, the cursor hangs and then the laptop crashes completely.

When I originally put the CD-ROM on the laptop, it seems to be taking place, in that the drivers recognition process where apparently being installed (we have no disk windows 98), so I assumed it was launching this process that everything was fine. But when I put a cd in the drive, the message: there is no cd rom on that computer drive came! I tried several times, and the same problem occurred. I checked the Device Manager and there is no cd drive. I tried to go into the multimedia program, but there is nothing on the cd rom. But there is a cd rom drive help and how to use it. So I'm pretty confused as to what could be the problem. Do I need to get a cd rom drive new/second hand? I thought about the drivers and download them but as we drive to the web I don't have access to the internet. Help with this would be so much appreciated.

I'm no afficiando on computers, so any information base or advice to help me get started would be great.

    Thank you

    David Hutchinson

    Hello
This is not an answer to your question but can solve the problem if it is the same that I had.
In my case, the drive tries to spin but it slips. Only the motor shaft rotates and the drive remains at low revolutions that were not even stationary.
The problem was caused by the fact that the plastic part (black color) of the mechanism which engages the disc (CD or DVD) slips on the
motor drive, axle and th couldn't do a full rotation or runs at the specified speed.
The solution is to delete the article in plastic and put a small amount of super glue on the axle and then put it back.

Where there is a similar issue, I hope that solve you it like I did.
