CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive does not work. Device Manager indicates problem and there is no volume listed on the Volumes, how to fix tab?

Description of the drive is HL-DT-STDVD +-RW GSA - T11N ATA Device Properties. Verified drivers and they are up to date.  Under device status "this device cannot start. (Code 10) clicked on search the Solutions, but no solutions are shown.  Have trouble with the DVD because I had the computer and have had several conversations with Dell but I think that my extended warranty just expired.

Hello

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
the parameters.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer

  • External Combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive does not work with USB 1.1

    Hello world

    I have a problem with the PA3352E - 2 CD 2 CD-RW/DVD COMBO USB 2.0. A colleague is owner of this car and use it on a NB DellC610 with Windows XP on it. The problem is that the drive does not work with this type of nb (with a NB from Fujitsu-Siemens newest there no problems); There is always an error message about "surge." I think it has to do with the USB 1.1 because the player seems to be built for USB2.0. Is it possible to use this drive correctly with usb1.1 (ok, the flow is low, but more important is it works in general)? Unfortunately his nb will not work with USB 2.0...

    Thank you very much in advance.

    Kind regards
    Steffen Rieger

    Hello

    AFAIK this external must have a power adapter. You use it too? I'm not 100% sure, but there are difference how much power Gets the USB slot. Toshiba notebooks is around 500 my and some producers another laptops send between 300 and 500 my. The external device requires approximately 700 my.

  • Pavilion dv7t-2000 dvd/CD drive does not work

    Hello

    I have problems with my CD/DVD drive.

    Recently, I upgrade my Windows Vista Service Pack 2. I noticed that my CD/DVD drive does not work, although I don't know if this is related to the Vista upgrade because I have not used the cd player in a long time. The drive does not read CDs or DVDs that I put in.

    Device Manager indicates there is a problem with the driver for CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. Device Manager displays the following error message: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    The device is listed as TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633M ATA Device. The CD-ROM/DVD-ROM is the same as that provided with the laptop when I bought it, which is listed as "LightScribeSuperMulti8XDVD + / RWw/DLayer" on my receipt.

    In the properties of the device, I pressed the 'Update Driver' button, but it says that the driver is already up to date.

    I searched HP's site for an updated CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver, but I couldn't find one. I also ran "HP Health Check", but the program cannot find any problems.

    Thank you for your help.

    The problem has been resolved.

    I followed the advice of nazcar4u in a similar thread:

    I used the "Fix it" Wizard on the Microsoft Web site:

    OK, I thought: Maby the cd is damaged in anyway so I'll put another cd to see if the problem persists, I had a new cd empty and rolled on the cd-rom and waited but nothing showed... I searched some tips on this problem and here's what I did:

    My gateway computer is 6 years old.  It came with a CD - DVD drive, HL-DT-ST

    has a yelllow exclamation point.  I tried to update the driver and I get the

    His title: you can no longer access the CD drive or the DVD drive, or you receive an error message after you remove a CD recording program or a DVD in Windows XP registration program: "error code 31".

    The body of the article lists 41 Code as one of the mistakes that can produce this problem. There are ways, I think, to get the error without uninstalling explicitly software CD writing.

    The fix is not difficult to apply, but to delete two keys from the Windows registry.

  • DVD / CD drive does not work

    Recently bought a new laptop running windows 7, which has a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive TSST corp DVD +-RW TS - T633C labled.

    Now, I had previously no problems with it until I moved. Even then, he had played a few DVD until it has suddenly stopped working.
    Reading a CD fine, I could not test the music because that's where I have all the. When I read the DVD or games I gave a cell phone shot does not yet recognize the drive to be there.

  • Tecra M7 DVD: CD/DVD RAM drive does not work since the installation of Vista

    I did a clean install on my new Vista Ready M7. He had XP tablet in a first time, and the DVD player worked fine. In fact I used to install Vista (Home Premium).

    Now it doesn't work at all. It runs but does not read. Device Manager tells me impossible to start the device. Tried to update driver and he told me that he has the most uptodate pilot.

    Downloaded all the drivers from the Download Center of Tosh for upgrade of Vista of M7 (who got bluetooth, rotation etc. function properly the screen). But none of the downloads seems to be a driver for the DVD - Ram drive. He cannot find a driver anywhere else (including the Panasonic site).
    DVD player is Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ - 841 s

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

    On the Toshiba driver page, you can find the DLA for Tecra m7.
    Have you tried to install the XP driver DVD-RAM since the Toshiba page on the Vista operating system?

    Maybe it'll market

    But listening the CD/DVD drive uses the current Microsoft drivers that are included in Vista or XP.
    This is why an additional driver should not be necessary!

    An additional proposal;
    Remove the drive from the Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop.
    After restarting again the OS should reinstall the drive and renew the software.

    Another tip:
    -Launch the registry
    -Choose the registry key;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
