Hello

Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

Run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

sfc/scannow

generates in Windows Vista cbs.log

Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.

==========================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
the parameters.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

  • Reinstalling Windows XP: Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure

    Hi all

I'm trying to format my PC to reinstall Windows XP. I set the BIOS to select CD-Room as a first option, but when I restart the PC, instead of getting the message "Press any key to boot from CD", I get this "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure...» "and it starts to load Windows (who doesn't like then I get a black screen and can't do anything), but it won´t start the CD.

I tried to insert the Windows CD in the DVD drive (I do not know if it would work), but when I press a key to boot from CD, I get a black screen with this message 'nocy zr intdis up trapdis', and then I can't do anything.

The CD player works, as if I insert a music cd, for example, it runs. The Windows CD also works in the other PC. Any ideas how can I format my PC if the CD won´t run? Or ideas how to run if I get this message "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: failure...» » ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • A reinstall of Windows SP3 will set my automatic boot DVD-ROM failure?

My two readers of DVD - ROM have stopped start automatic on both drives to install program and records of music & video.  I tried to change the registry by a patch of Microsoft article, but the problem is still there.  Another program I have installed in the past may have somehow missed upward.  I suspect that the reinstallation of Windows SP3 may solve the problem.  However, because SP3 came out years ago, we have a LOT of Windows security updates.  My question is this.  Could adversely affect anything on my system to try simply re-run the exe to install SP3 which I just downloaded from Microsoft?  If this seems a feasible idea, I'd lose all these dozens and dozens of Windows security updates that I downloaded via Windows update since two years ago first SP3 installed, or if it is not serious?

    Hello

You will not be able to reinstall SP3, unless uninstall you it. Re-install it will not be very useful, you can try running sfc (click Start-> Run Type & -> sfc / scannow-> ok) it will take your XP disc.

You can try to turn autorun by: open my computer-> right click CD/DVD Drive-> Autorun. You can also try the method of register on the Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330135

That being said, it seems that there is a problem with the machines boot devices.  My best advice would be to get into the BIOS and make sure that your boot drive is first in line for the startup process.

    PLEASE NOTE:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can resolved e. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Inspiron 3650 does emit any beeps at startup upward. Does?

Seems to work well, less than a week old. I was expecting a beep at startup upward, but I hear nothing (unless it is very quiet) I should wait for a beep code. Unable to find anything in this regard in the manual. I have a S2316H monitor with built-in speakers attached via the HDMI.

Any thoughts appreciated please. Thank you.

With more recent versions of the UEFI BIOS, there is no beep at the STATION, unless there is a problem. Now, the POST beep means generally: card system: the BIOS ROM failure.

A while back, Dell has a brand-new model giving the 'normal' beep at the STATION, but confused users with the motherboard beep fault code beep.

This led to many mothers unnecessarily replaced under warranty. Dell has subsequently removed the 'normal' beep to the STATION in a revision of the BIOS and saved the lives of many mothers!

    Hi Mayur,

    Welcome to the community,

Sound signal can be used as a diagnostic indicator. The computer may emit a series of beeps at startup if errors or problems. This series of beeps identifies a problem and is called "beep code".

See the table below which shows the beep codes and the possible problem:

    Overview of beep Code
    Beeps Description Possible cause
1 ROM BIOS checksum failure The map system, covers BIOS corruption or errors ROM failure
2 No memory (RAM) detected Memory or memory slot failure
    3

    • Super i/o chip failure
    • Keyboard controller failure
    System board failure
4 Memory read / write failure Memory failure
5 Real Time Clock (RTC) power failure CMOS battery failure

    Hello

There are normally 3 possible reasons of this error you have.

    1. the BIOS boot order set to Network Boot: BIOS settings to check the boot order.

    2. check the cable connections between the motherboard and the hard disk.

    3. doesn't have a hard drive.

    _________________________________________

You can check the hard drive.

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > search your computer specifications > know brand of hard drive > access the Hard Drive manufacturer's Web site > find and download hard drive Diagnostic software and make a record of start of it on the computer that you use to get here, following their instructions > test your hard drive to see if it has failed.

    Hi LarryR75248,

    ·         Exactly when you receive this error message?

    ·         What operating system is installed on your computer?

    ·         You did changes to the computer before the show?

This problem may be caused by one of the below mentioned reasons:

    i. corrupt boot on the computer files.

II. for hard disk parameters are not correct.

III. floppy drive or a CD in the computer where the problem.

IV. Boot devices not set correctly.

    c. connections loose or disconnected.

VI. bad hard drive or other defective hardware

Check if the automatic hard drive in the BIOS (Basic Input/output System) is enabled and save settings and check if it works. If it doesn't, contact the manufacturer of the system for more support options.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
