    I'm not the most computer savvy person so I need a little help.

    The device status says:

    It also tells me click + "search for solutions ' +. When I do a pop up appears and says that Windows does not load driver software.

    This can occur when you install the CD/DVD software not designed for Vista. For example if you install iTunes v6 for XP, it can load a filter incompatible Vista driver and cause problems.

    Try to remove the UpperFilters and Lowerfilters. Sollow this guide: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=314060

  • Has my Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200 ATA device (slot 0) does not work.

    It shows a code 39 (Windows cannot load device... driver driver may be corrupted or missing).  Can I just download a new driver from device and install or I buy?  If so, is there a legitimate site for this sort of thing?  Sorry for the newbie question.

    Hello

    Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

    Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
    Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
    This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

    Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
    slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

    Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

    contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
    are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
    ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    Hello

    The solution is very simple;
    First of all, remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD.
    Then start the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    After that reboot the device, wait that the OS has acknowledged again the STRANGE and finally test.

  • Satellite A210: ODD does not work - driver may be corrupted or missing - Code 39

    The STRANGE ('TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device") does not work on my laptop more.

    In Device Manager, the Properties dialog box says "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    laptop: A210
    OS: Vista 32 bit

    I think the material is OK, as I install dual-boot linux, the STRANGE works very well under linux.

    I found updates of firmware STRANGE on the Toshiba site, but these cannot be installed with the drivers dysfunctional.

    Is it possible to find the drivers somewhere? (I can use google, but I don't know if driver download sites are trustworthy).

    Any other ideas?

    Hello

    This has been discussed a lot of time here;
    The workaround is;
    -remove the ODD of Device Manager
    -access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    -restart the laptop

  • Pavilion dv7t-2000 dvd/CD drive does not work

    Hello

    I have problems with my CD/DVD drive.

    Recently, I upgrade my Windows Vista Service Pack 2. I noticed that my CD/DVD drive does not work, although I don't know if this is related to the Vista upgrade because I have not used the cd player in a long time. The drive does not read CDs or DVDs that I put in.

    Device Manager indicates there is a problem with the driver for CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. Device Manager displays the following error message: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

    The device is listed as TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633M ATA Device. The CD-ROM/DVD-ROM is the same as that provided with the laptop when I bought it, which is listed as "LightScribeSuperMulti8XDVD + / RWw/DLayer" on my receipt.

    In the properties of the device, I pressed the 'Update Driver' button, but it says that the driver is already up to date.

    I searched HP's site for an updated CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver, but I couldn't find one. I also ran "HP Health Check", but the program cannot find any problems.

    Thank you for your help.

    The problem has been resolved.

  • My CD-ROM/DVD-Rom drive & the Bison Webcam built into my laptop. Does not work after I upgraded from Vista home premium to Windows 7 Home premium.

    My readers Optiarc DVD - RW AD-7530 ATA Device DVD/CD-ROM & the Bison Webcam built into my laptop. Does not work after I upgraded from Vista home premium to Windows 7 Home premium.
    Although of course, the CD-ROM drive worked during the upgrade.

    PXE - E6i:Media Test Failure, Check Cable
    PXE - MOF: Exit PXE Rom
    During the audit of each Properties in Device Manager devices", I learned that they both work correctly.  In the list in the printers and the @Devices the only Webcam shown is also a "USB 2.0 Camera"
    Can someone help me please?
    Best regards
    John

    Besides what abdelhak says:

    The message of PXE boot that you receive when you start your computer has nothing to do with your CD/DVD-Rom drive. Your computer uses a PXE boot method to attempt to load Windows from a location on your network. Since you do not have this configuration, it is safe to ignore it. If it slows down the startup time of your system, contact your manufacturer and ask them for instructions on how to "disable PXE Network Boot of the BIOS.

    Double-click on the devices to see their properties. On the general tab, note their descriptions and 'device status'.  In the Details under "Ownership" tab select "hardware ID" note the entries under "value".

    You can try to install the drivers built into Windows Vista

    1. in the Device Manager, click on your PC
    2. click on the menu "Action" "Add legacy hardware. Click next in the Add Hardware Wizard.
    3. check the box before "install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)". Click Next.

  • The CD/DVD drive malfunction: one missing, the other does not work

    My HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running Vista, came with a CD/DVD drive that appeared as a reader of CD (e) and (f) HD DVD player, with the hard drive and windows repair partition C: and D:.  There, the E: drive seemed to have disappeared, and it is the reader who would access it when I put a CD to read from.  The HD player never worked to this end and of course now that I only have the "F:" drive, and it tells me to insert a disc, despite the fact that there is a disc in there.  And I have no idea of what I did.

    I right click on the HD drive properties and go to the Hardware tab.  WDC (Buncha numbers) ATA device is listed as type of hard drives, and UTIHAX (even numbers) SCSI CdRom Device is listed as a DVD/CD-ROM drives drive (Yes, with the ').  Both work properly, according to the properties of the device.

    I tried to disable and re-enable the it.  I tried to uninstall and allow the pilot to resettle.  Nothing doin ' sofar, so I was wondering if any of you have any other ideas I could try.
