  My HP Photosmart c4280 was never able to scan, and now I'm putting in place. I have the driver installed with the HP Solution Center, when I click on "scan document" it goes to the next menu and I select scan to PDF, then to the next screen I can hear the scanner moving and the image appears the first 1/4 of the document and then the scanner stops and the picture never changes until they tell me to restart and stop... etc.

  Any help would be appreciated!

  Please perform the below mentioned steps that should solve the problem.

  Click the Windows icon and then click on computer.
  Double-click Local disk (C .)
  Double-click Program Files.
  Double-click HP.
  Double-click on digital imaging.
  Double-click Bin.
  Find and double-click one of the following files. You only have to choose from.
  Hpiscnapp.exe
  Hpqscnvw.exe
  This will launch the HP scanning application.
  Select new Scan, and then change the settings you want to analysis.
  Click on accept to save the analysis to the desired location.
  Follow these steps if you need to save the analysis as another type of file, such as a. PDF:
  Right click on the recently saved file to open it in another application, such as Microsoft Word.
  Save the new scan under the type of file you want.

  After I've upgraded to Windows 10, I downloaded the HP software and re-installed my ols HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-One Printer, which works very well.  But now, I can't find a way to run wizard printer.  I want to scan a document, and there is no icon on the desktop to start the software.  Anyone know where I can find the Printer Wizard file to run in order to run this software and create a desktop icon?

  I have a PSC 1315 printer I've used for several years on a system with Windows XP without any problems.  After buying an HP Pavilion 500 with Windows Pro 8.1, I migrated my printer to the new computer.  I have refused to use the original driver and was directed to download the latest driver and software for that printer from HP Web site.  At first, things seemed ok, until I stumbled upon several questions, which is this one.

  The first two weeks, I didn't see this error in the solution Center, but all of a sudden it began to appear.  The first time I saw it, the printer is turned off (standby) and when I turned it on, the error has disappeared, and I was able to use the Solution Center.  Now (from last week), the error never goes away.  I've tried everything I can think of, including physically disconnect and reconnect the printer, run diagnostic printer, etc..  Nothing works.  I'm afraid that there was some automatic update that ruined the connectivity of its Solution.

  Now, here is the information that will throw you a loop for: the printer works in all directions.  I am able to scan, character, etc. without any problems.  I can not just use Solution Center to do.

  1. is this a known issue, and what is the solution?
  2. how to disable all automatic updates for this printer and software?

  I noticed that all of your posts on several issues that have known you for upgrading to a new PC with Windows 8.1. Given all the issues, I'd say running the HP print and Scan Doctor and using this specific tool to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

• HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-one no scan

  Although my printer works fine for printing and copying, I get error messages when I try to scan by pressing the button or by using the HP software

  I use the HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-one with a MacBook OSX 10.5.7 running

  I connect to the printer with a USB cable and have used the two USB ports to make sure that this isn't a wobbly port.

  When I push the scan from the printer button, HPScan starts, then an error message is displayed: The HP Communications Application does not run.
  When I run ScanPro the following error message: Sorry, scanner could not be initialized.

  I already downloaded and installed the latest printer driver.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated. My latest project continues upward while I try to scan to run.

  We will restore the print system:

  -Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
  -Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
  WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!

I was able to get to join the TRIOUX printer, butttttnosaninfunctions work with the push button on the machine. Also, because I lost the original CD that came with it, I can't scan utilities to work.   I see you want to use the features of printing and scanning of your HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-One Printer on your computer Windows 10. I want to help you with this today. I'm happy to announce that the full feature software and drivers are available for your printer!  Just pilots have not yet been added under Windows 10 drop-down list on our Web site. However, I will you link to the driver package to install your printer. Please follow the steps below.

  If you use a USB connection between your computer and the printer please unplug this cable now.

  Step 1: Remove the printer:

  We want a clean slate to install your printer on the computer Windows 10. Therefore, I will you ensure that no trace of your HP Photosmart camera does not currently installed on your computer.

  1. click on the Start button

  

  2. type programs and features. If a search does not start automatically, you will need to type programs and features in the area of "Ask Me anything".

  3. click on programs and features to launch the window.

  4. in programs and features, will populate a list of the programs installed on your computer. Please scroll down and find your Camera HP Photosmart. If you see your HP Photosmart listed, click on it and choose Uninstall.

  5 follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete successfully please close programs and features.

  6. then, click on the menu start of new

  7. this time type devices

  8 click on devices and printers to launch the window.

  

  9. in devices and printers are looking for your Camera HP Photosmart. If you see if if please right click above and choose 'Remove' or 'Remove'.

  10. Once your HP Photosmart camera is like showing in devices and printers please click on any device in the list of Printers once just to highlight. Click the print server properties on top

  

  11. click on the drivers tab

  12. search for your HP Photosmart driver. If the list, please click it and choose delete

  13. Select delete the driver only

  14. Select OK

  15 click apply and OK in the print server properties window.

  16. close devices and printers. Please proceed to the next step.

  Step 2: Install the device:

  1. Please click here to download the full functionality of the software and the driver for your printer
  2. Once the download is complete, follow the prompts on the screen to install your printer
  3. If you use a USB cable connection, leave the disconnected cable until the installation program prompts you to connect

  Once installation is complete, please try printing and scanning.

• Photosmart C4280: Incompatible device

  Hello.

  My Photosmart C4280 was previously works very well with Windows 10.  A new update has been installed a couple of days.   Now it is said that the Photosmart is an "Incompatible device" and will not open it.   I tried to reinstall the program three times to no evail.

  On the last seconds of the installation, an error message comes up saying the device is not compatible with the pc and the program could be harmful.

  Anyone have any ideas?

Personally, I think it might be a problem with ink cartridge, so you would recommend that you try the steps from the link I posted for you below. Also make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, avoiding bars power and surge protectors.

• Photosmart c4280 all-in-one and Maverics no color printing

  My photosmart c4280 worked for me like a champ for years, that is until what I plugged my new macbook pro with OS 10.9.3 Mavericks. Now the printer will not print in color. I know that he peut still print in color because I copy/print a document in color that I had and it worked fine.  I have ASUs available and, as far as I know, have downloaded the correct driver.

  Add the printer again and make sure that you add the HP print driver and not the driver AirPrint

  The CD of HP usually have a scrubber on it which removes all traces of the HP software installed on your computer.

  The steps below

  1. Insert the CD in the drive and then cancel Setup
  2. open my computer and click right then on the CD from the drive and select open
  3 open the Util folder
  4 open the CCC folder
  5. If you have an HP computer, run the L3uninstall.bat. If you have a computer not HP, run the L4uninstall.bat
  6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer
  7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup
  8. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  Once you uninstall everything that we need all reinstall. Because Windows 7 came out after that the printer was manufactored that not all CD come with Windows 7 drivers. I would recommend going back to the Windows 7 install I quoted above to reinstall once you have uninstalled everything.

  Let me know the results once you have done this.
