CentOS 7 customization fails

Hello to you all,.

I have a serious problem with customization CentOS 7 host and domain name. When I'm trying to customize, all right, there is no error. However, when the process is complete the name is still localhost.localdomain. The problem does not occur in Ubuntu or CentOS 6.5. Please help me to find the workaround or fix this problem. Meanwhile, I use VMWare and obviously management API, the same question is there.

CentOS 7 is not yet officially supported. That said, it works basically the same way as RHEL 7 which is already supported on 5.1u3 and 5.5u2. The workaround is described in centos7 - vsphere 5.5-7, Centos deployment of the model does not include customizations - lack of server

I followed all the different instructions on how to install the comments and agents "bootstrap" on the model of virtual machine, but he is not happy. I do not see any file of appd.properties anywhere on the virtual computer. It is a laboratory set up so all devices / servers run self-signed certificates. Finally found the problem, I had configured my network with wrong DNS server profiles and no DNS search suffixes. Once I fixed that, everything worked. The strange thing is that, even on these kicks VMs who had failed to deploy, I could solve the vCAC, ID, IaaS and DPPA servers.

Moral of the story is ALWAYS CHECK DNS!

Hamburger menu > customize fails when ADB Helper 0.7.3 is enabled (also fails Tab Mix Plus)

When I noticed that I couldn't customize Firefox 34.0.5 more, I went and started to disable addons one by one, until I discovered that the Mozilla ADB Helper 0.7.3 was the culprit. Once disabled reworked customized.
The addon also is Tab Mix Plus does not reopen the saved tabs (but fortunately it did not lose any settings or configuration) while disabling
ADB Helper is also Tab Mix Plus rework.

Because I don't think I need this addon, I'll keep this option disabled until Mozilla has a new build for him.

11g - save customizations fails with the error XML
I have two guests of dashboard on my dashboard. One is a simple drop-down list. The other is a Variable presentation guest (number). I selected/entered two values normal, click on apply, and the dashboard has answered correctly. Then I chose 'save the current customization. After you have entered the name MYSTUFF as saved personalization and clicking on OK, I get this error:

The error occurs in IE 8 and Firefox 3.6.13.

Is this a known bug?
It is a bug - if you have an article on a page and the Section has an associated illness, the link 'Save the current customization' will throw this error. In addition, the link 'Create the bookmark link' will throw the same error. If you remove the Condition, you will be able to save customizations/create bookmark links.

Cannot use the Upce with Centos64 comments or template customization

I'm trying to deploy a new Centos 6.X 64 comments using a technique of customization. I built the reference VM with a single ext3 partition and the swap partition. I installed the version of VM Tools that is listed as current. When I try to use the specification of customization, I prepared the selection is grayed out with the message:
"The personalization of the guest operating system"centos64guest"is not supported in this configuration. Customers Microsoft Vista and Linux with a logical volume Manager are only for the recent host ESX and VMware Tools versions support"

Only the operating systems listed in this guide are officially supported for customizing the vCenter guest operating system:

Unfortunately, CentOS is not among them and vCenter will refuse to apply the customization of virtual machines that are configured for CentOS. However, you can easily get around this by setting the configuration option of the machine virtual guest to the corresponding version of RHEL operating system. This should cause problems for normal operations of VM, but you can replace it on CentOS after customization if you want to be sure.

LVM or normal partition scheme should without importance for the success of the customization process itself.

Customization of Template Ubuntu 14.04

I am trying to create a model of ubuntu. However, when I try to deploy a VM from the model with the customizations (affecting static IP), customizations fail leaving the network in a working state.
I tried to look for a solution, but all I found was the article on the creation of a symbolic link (/ etc/dhcp3->/etc/dhcp). I tried to do that, but I think I have a different problem.
There is an event error indicating: "year Error occurred while customizing VM MachineName. For more details refer < no log > log file in the guest OS. "It doesn't seem to be written in the guest OS vmware balls.
This could be the cause of this problem? Are there any other newspaper site that I should be looking?

VCAC 6.0.1 network IP profile for Centos Blueprint award

I wonder if anyone has had luck get a machine of Centos to deploy from vCAC and be given an IP address on the network profile defined in vCAC? I managed to get this working well on Windows Server 2008R2 action plan, but can't seem to make it work on Centos.
I followed a few guides out there that has gotten me to the point where I can join the Centos template customization of comments if the guide is for deployment via vCenter and requires manual intervention for the customization of work (you set the IP address in the customization, and then edit the material virtual and remove/re-add the vNIC) which is the kind of thing that would not be easy to imitate behind vCAC.

I believe that the solution of the cleaner to keep me, had to start the virtual machine with no NETWORK card at all and delete configurations in sysconfig and then he can go back. I then added the NIC back in before I put him as a model.

"Customization of the guest operating system"centosGuest"is not supported in this configuration". I do turn on ESXi 4.1 and ensure that the vmware-tools is installed. I tested on a machine model virtual ubuntu which I am able to change on reviews customization then deploy the virtual machine. I would like to know if there is a solution to this? Thanks in advance.

It seems that the new feature of type "CentOS" 4/5 as guest of OS has not evaluated correctly. I changed my 'Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5' models as they were before the update. CentOS is a recompilation of Red Hat anyway, so it makes sense to keep.

Customization of comments does not not on Windows 2003 SP2 64-bit

I have a server ESX 3.5 with Center Virtual Server 2.5 aned Labmanager 3.0.1.
I am running 32-bit as 64-bit VM Templates.
I created packages of Sysprep for 64-bit machines, and each of them works perfectly except for the Windows 2003 SP2 64-bit model. Where the comments customization fails. I tried everything I can think of.
Trashed the model and built a new, recreated the Sysprep package, updated the SP. But I still get the same error.

Here, any help would be greatly appreciated I have a quality assurance team to test the 2003 64 bits and at the present time, they are unable to do so because they do not receive an IP address from the scope of the Labmanager.

You are missing something:

C:\sysprep\i386\$OEM$

This file should be present in the directory SYSPREP on the Lab Manager, if not, then something is missing. I believe that Lab Manager that creates during Setup, but you can do ths following

First of all, we need to make a folder path that looks like this

sysprep\Win2k3_64\i386\$ OEM$

In the oem folder, make a txt file named:

Cmdlines.txt

Open the file and just put this in it:

\[Commands]

'TAG_RUN_CUSTOMIZATION_EXE '.

This should replicate to have the correct file:

C:\Program VMware Lab Manager\Tools\CustomizeGuest\Windows\Sysprep\Win2k3_64\i386\$OEM$\cmdlines.txt

(Note that your way this may differ on the Lab Manager server)

Once this is done, you will need to rebuild the sysprep packages before deploying again.

Note, you will need to each sysprep folder path too.

GuestCustUtil.exe crashes on Windows XP

I hope I'm in the right place here, but if not, please could someone redirect me to the right place?
We have been installing vCenter 5.1 and recently updated to update 1. Since then, comments on Windows XP customization fails with the Guestcustutil.exe crashing on instantly. Newspapers do not say a thing to use and the guestcust.log is not yet complete because of the application crashing. The created dump file States it has an incorrect parameter passed and when looking at the parameters passed to the EXE, the command line looks like this:
C:\Windows\Temp\vmw7.tmp\guestcustutil.exe customize - sealparam "- quiet - mini - reseal - reboot.
Manually by running the same command causes the same result.
Since I was Googling my broad back to this topic, I haven't found something for vCenter 2.5 where the guestcustutil.exe had to be replaced. Would it be something similar here?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

For those interested, I finally found the solution to the question. We use a registry key for the file system on startup to automatic control:

Key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager and the BootExecutevalue. With this removed, the system can be customized very well.

Impossible to deploy the model after upgrading to vCenter v4_1

I updated vCenter Server from version 4.0 to v4.1 and re-registers the hosts.
Virtual machines are working well and are able to collect data on performance.
However, when I tried to deploy the model, error occurred and failed to deploy the model.
(This model were made to vCenter v4.0 environment, before moving on to vCenter v4.1).
My client needs deploy the model so that it can create a new server next week...

We would like to change the Acrobat Pro DC classic track to track continuous.

1. The vsphere Web Client, right-click on your deployment model.
2. Select "new virtual machine of this model.
3. In the name box, enter "DeployVM0".
4. Select the correct location of the DC, and then click Next.
5. Select your cluster, and then click Next.
6. Select your LUNS and click Next.
7. Click on the box "Power on a virtual machine after creation" so that it is enabled.
8. Check the box "Customize the operating system", and then click Next.
9. Select the "StandbyCust" specification, and then click Next.
10. Click Finish.
Watch the deployment and customization of vSphere Web Client. You should be able to see the power of the virtual machine and customize from the console without logging in. Wait about 5 minutes to see if all the cloning and the specification of the OS process completed. Then without logging in the newly created DeployVM, from the first client, at a command prompt, type the following.

Ping ping STAF DeployVM0

The correct answer is PONG.

Customize RHEL6 fails

I can't customize the IP address through vRA RHEL6 as follows:
- Error message
Request failed: Machine vra58: CustomizeVM: [CustomizeVM_Task] - fault. CustomizationPending.summary.
- Parameters of the management plan
I can customize the address IP of RHEL6 however vCenter without vRA.
Is there anyone who knows advice to solve this problem?

I'm sorry. I solved this problem by myself. Preparing to customize the OS including spec comments and customization officer was incorrect.
