certificate of Authenticity number

Hello

Certificate of authenticity Label has faded. I can't read the number more, unfortunately when I bought the laptop, I didn't know that this number was important, that I saved only the product key

Microsoft told me to contact HP for that. nobody at hp has no idea where to find where that contact.

f.y.i: currently my disks are formatted. I hope that HP will restore using the recovery disks, that they will carry out. I don't know if the COST would be somewhere on the sytem after finishing because it's standard discs that they will send.

Kind regards

Faraz

Hello

I'm assuming from your previous posts, that you intend to reinstall Windows 7.

If it is correct and you use HP recovery media, you will not need to enter the key of your COA label - once installation is complete, Windows will automatically activate via a license table (slic) of the software on the chip bios and embedded security certificate.

Kind regards

I tried to repair my Windows XP.  Have the drive and the product ID (T8GTV-8VDJK-KMF92-63F4K-P3JJH) that came on the file supplied with the disc.  ID does not work.  Says I need a certificate of Authenticity number.  I have a blank card that says that the COA has been removed by the PC manufacturer and should be attached to the PC.  Can't find it.  Now I'm stuck in the installation program, and the PC is useless.  Not good Microsoft! Need activation ID!

I did the repair option.  He asks the ID of product key does not work.  Now, he does nothing but try to go in the installation program.  I can try to switch to Windows 7, but who knows if it will work with the PC stuck in installing XP now.

Installation of Windows 7 should not be a problem even if you have not completed the installation of Xp. However, you can run KillDisk or another disk utility wipe first. Download the version of the iso bootable.

  • HP20002D19WM came with no software (cyberlink) key and certificates of authenticity for windows

I just bought the HP20002D19WM, which came with no software (cyberlink) key and certificates of authenticity for windows. I can't use any program cyberlink with a key number to enter. Also if I would give for somereason I wonder in my number of windows I would not be able to since I have ever trevieved it

    This is the original factory specifications for your laptop HP 2000-2d19WM. All Cyberlink OEM software should work without key, because it is not mandatory for the installed OEM mass products. Regarding the Windows product key, see Activation of Windows 8 product;

    • OEM Activation 3.0 (OA3) at the factory. A digital product key (DPK) is encrypted and installed on the motherboard BIOS during the manufacturing process. Windows 8 will be ignited automatically the first time that the computer is connected to the Internet. With systems activated by OA3, most of the computer's hardware can be replaced without the need to reactivate the software from Microsoft.

Word part of the office, as is OneNote - worksheet done part works.

You would need different keys for office and works.

NOTE that the key on the sticker on the case of the machine is almost certainly only for Windows, no office or works.

The Office Setup you have is a trial - and valid only for a certain number of uses, or a certain period of time, before requiring a license key valid

Regarding the works, which is probably an OEM installation, which should have appropriate, including a key tape

  • Windows 7 certificate of authenticity missing

Last month, I bought a new awareness of Lenovo t410. The OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Recently, I noticed that I can't find anywhere a certificate of authenticity of Windows on the t410. The only mention of Windows 7 is the small square decal that says just Windows 7 located near the lower left hand of the keyboard. When I installed Microsoft Security Essentials tested for Windows installation procedure "authentic" and is complaint not (and was installing MSE), so I'm not worried about it. However, it was my understanding that I should have a sticker C of A. do I right about that? If I'm wrong, I guess I should be contact Lenovo support? Thank you.

  • do I need a genuine certificate of authenticity for windows 98 since its so old?

Hi I have a copy of windows 98, but not the certificate of authenticity. so I did some research and found an article that says you can u a generic coa in windows 98 since its so old, then it displays the certificate of authenticity and said microsoft has given to them so I was wondering if this is true and if I can use this cost I'll add a link
    http://help.WUGNET.com/Windows2/generic-Windows-98-product-key-ftopict490835.html

A certificate of authenticity is not a key or license its simply a CA certificate, confirming its true.

Win98 normally install on the PC more modern

  • A horse of Trojan/worm trashed my netbook. The only solution was to reformat. I have a genuine certificate of authenticity. I can't activate XP home

A horse of Trojan/worm trashed my netbook. The only solution was to reformat. I have a genuine certificate of authenticity. I reinstall XP home on a CD, but the key does not work. There are no disks with the laptop (samsung n110). Any thoughts that does not involve forced to part with $149 for W7?

The COA is on the underside of the netbook. The XP Home has been installed on the netbook when I bought new from PC World.

I assume that the CD (since your laptop is dead which replaces this netbook) I used has some other codes wired inside or MS think I'm installing twice when it should be used on a single machine. I thought that the COA was unique to my netbook and so proves that I am not pull a fast.

Samsung have this recovery application that has been blown away by the reformat.

Everything is new except activate my XP home.

I would upgrade to W7 to avoid this pain, but there is a recession on you know :)

    At latest

    I see now.

If you can get a generic XP Home OEM CD, you should be fine. (Yes, I'm aware that it may not be easy to find these days).

Netbooks are so problematic; I never want one!

Good luck with the Samsung forum.

  • Certificate of authenticity will work after you install the new copy of Windows 7 64-bit?

    * Original title: COA

    Hi all

I bought a used Dell laptop which still has its COA on the bottom of the unit.  Apparently the device was installed with Win 7 when new.  I would like to install a new copy of Win 7 64 bit, but would not know if the COST I would work since there is no information if the original installation is 32-bit or 64-bit.   Thanks for any information you could share with me.

The COA will work as long you have correspondent reinstall media:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

  • Certificate of authenticity (COA)

Recently completed and automatic Windows Update on my computer.  Apparently there was a mistake in the system and the corrupt my computer upgrade.  Technology has to reinstall the operating system, but it cannot read the certificate of authenticity (COA) at the bottom of my computer because it is badly faded.  How can I get a copy of the COA in order to reinstall the operating system?

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".
