Change language in Windows XP Home Home from Norwegian to English

I'm getting married to a Norwegian, where the operating system is currently in Norwegian. Is it possible to change the language to English without buying a new operating system?

Hello

No, it is not possible. The only thing you can change is the input language and keyboard. If you want to have an English operating system, you must install it again. You can do it with the CD of the full version of Microsoft. All the drivers, tools and utilities on the English, you can find on Toshiba download page under

Good bye

  • Language on Windows 7 Home Premium

Hello. While living in Spain, I had my two PC set to update from Windows XP Pro. for Windows 7 Home Premium. They have both worked very well. I now moved back to the United Kingdom. All the furniture etc inc PC have been put in storage. No 14 months later I got the PC to play, but found one was not open Windows. After you have found the disc in Windows 7 box. I started to install with everything provided Spanish disc was OK until I found I couldn't change the installation in English. Once more Microsoft poking upward the bettor as having paid money very good to have a so-called Microsoft Repairer or whatever. I then checked with Microsoft.  You all probably know the answer. I have to buy an another Windows 7 Home Premium in English.  Any suggestions on their the that to go back to XP.

Option 1: You can download Windows 7 Home Premium English or borrow an English Home Premium from Windows 7 disk and use your product key to install and activate it. If you can not get a CD-ROM of Windows 7 Home Premium, you could borrow another edition of Windows 7 in English as professional retail, complete edition, Home Basic edition or full upgrade or OEM System Builder disk and create a disc of a whole that will allow you to install Home Premium English.

  • No options display in the regions and languages of Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Hello

I need a support from you,

I bought a setrday tour here in Germany with Windows 7 Home Premium. But it came with Deutsch as a base language that I have no idea how work with the menu of the screen of welcome and all in German and I'm on pain. I am an Indian and working with the English and not able to find an option called 'Display language' keyboard and languages to change the display language tab. How if I could do that. Help, please.

The ability to change the language is one of the features that distinguishes the pinnacle of the cheaper versions - product differentiation. Like any company Microsoft have the right to charge what they want for their products. Their websites explain this, for example:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/compare?T1=tab15

I fear that it is a case of caveat emptor.

You might try sweet-talking to the company you bought the laptop from giving you an English version, purchase an English version or Ultimate.

    Good luck.   :)

  • Pack of Estonian language of Windows 7 Home Premium

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium in English and I would like to change in Estonian. But it is true that Windows 7 Home Premium does not (yet) support Estonian pack (MUI and LIP), Web sites even tell that?

Only Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise Edition supports language packs. Estonian is one of the available languages. The Ultimate upgrade is usually the best option in these circumstances because it allows you to switch between languages in the future without other expenses (& you get the other features of ultimate). • Language of the login screen is still Norwegian, although English is the main language

    Hello community.

I have my RT Surface in Norway and original language was Norwegian.
I downloaded the English (United States) language pack and successfully applied.
Now, English is my first language in the system and user interface is in English, with the exception of the login screen.
Login screen where to retrieve a user to connect is still in Norwegian.
Does anyone know how to activate English for the login screen?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Pascal,.

This problem may occur if the Welcome screen language settings are change.

I suggest you to check the language settings of the user welcome screen.

    a. type in the right edge of the screen, and then click search. (If you use a mouse, point to the upper right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then click Find.)
    b. type Control Panel in the start search box.
    c. Select the language from the option and click on settings in advance.
    d. check the language settings to apply the login screen.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Change the display language in Windows 7 Home Premium

I live in Austria where German is the language spoken, and I have a German keyboard, because I need these German characters.  Yet, it's much easier for me to research how to solve problems on the PC in my mother tongue.  The problem is that I have after I found the solution in English, I often get lost among all the menus of the German language on my PC (eg. my control panel is called "Systemsteuerung" and top Internet Explorer menu commands are also all in German).  I want to change all of these menus (I think that it is officially called the 'display language') of 'service' in English!

I read that the normal way to change all of my menus would be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, where this option would be available.  I tried to check my upgrade under "anytime upgrade" options via the Startup Windows command line, but I received a message that this feature cannot be used in my country.  I checked the local Amazon site for Windows 7 Ultimate and it comes in at a minimum price somewhere around $150 for a full version.  Is this really the only solution from Microsoft for my language problem?

Please help if you know the answer!

    Steven

Win7 MUI is available only for win7 Ultimate & Enterprise

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows7/products/features/language-packs

Anytime Upgrade is no longer available for Win7

Assuming you have win7 preinstalled by PC manufacturer, you could I guess download the ISO of Win7 official English that matches the installed version (Home, Pro etc) creates the dvd system using the ISO burning software then clean install win7 using the win key on the label attached to your PC.

You will then win in English version

  • I want to enter text and check spelling in a different language on Windows 7 Home Premium

When you write a document in Word I want to type and check the spelling of the block quotes in a handful of other languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese may be too). I have 7 Home Premium. Can I only do this with 7 Ultimate? 7 Ultimate this will as delivered without additional software?

From what I've read on the Web, it seems I might have to logout of the word whenever I want to check the spelling of a word in another language and then connect again in this language and then logout and login again to continue to write and spell the default language (English). Is this true?
