  I recently updated my Windows laptop, 10 to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Almost everytime I use it, the program will go to stop in the middle of my work by displaying the following error message: "a problem caused blocking the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "At this point, my only option is to hit 'Close program' and lose all my work.   I consider this a case of corrupt preferences. I will suggest you to do a new installation of the Reader application on your computer.

  Please, try the following:

  Please delete your temp folder by going to %Temp%

  Disable any AntiVirus or firewall for the installation process.

  Remove the drive by using the cleaning tool. Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs

  Reinstall it from Offline Installer. Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

  Restart your computer after installation

  I would like to know if it works.

  The login name is used to comment & digital signatures, and I can't change it because the deposited text is read-only.

  Hey ilx2,

  You could right-click on a comment and choose Properties.

  Then, open the general tab and change the name on the label of the author.

  You can tick "Make default properties" option so that all the comments show the same name of the author.

  Please try to run the cleanup tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to remove all traces of the reader.

  Then, restart your machine and install the latest version of the player from here:

  You can create the signature in another application with the desired font & style, save it as an image & then add this image as a Signature tool fill & sign using Acrobat Reader DC fill & Sign.

  Could a right click on the PDF file > open with > choose program by default and select CD player as default PDF Viewer.

  You can do it from the control panel as well.

  This would make CD player as default PDF Viewer.
