  I've been using iCloud perfectly well on my iPhone (9.1... I know, I update later this week) and MacBook Pro (10.10.5... also updated later this week). As I update later this week, I wanted to check everything (especially pictures) has been saved correctly, so I tried to connect to my account on icloud.com. However, it doesn't let me log on. It seems to be, forcing me to "Update your Apple ID" but I have not asked to change my password, and I did not get this dialog on one of my devices. My password is very secure (it's a sentence with numbers, letters, and special characters).

  I guess my question is... what happens if I change my password, as seems to be asking? Will it take me to re-connect to stuff? What will it take me to re - connect to? I'm guessing: iTunes, iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud on my phone, App Store... what else? How will this affect my phone and laptop?

  So I changed my password to iCloud and now I tells me there is a problem with my account of iCloud [email protected]. The password work online and on my login screen.

  Unless you fully active 'find my Mac' BEFORE that your mac has been stolen, it can't do anything for you now. It is not active, and there is no way to make it active after the fact.

  To change the password in El Capitan Mail 9.2, you could do a little weird way:

  Mail / preferences / accounts / Account Information / Server outgoing (SMTP) mail / change the list of SMTP servers / (choose the account you want to update), at the bottom of the window:

  User name:...

  Password:...

  It's viable work around me for my Gmail accounts. I hope it help you too!
