  Hi all. I hope that there is someone out there who can help me please. After months and months of aggravation with my T-Mobile/EA account PAYG, I now have to give me a number of entirely new phone for my BB Torch 9800.  The thing is T-Mobile/EE me will not deliver a brand new SIM card - they said I don't have a need. The old phone number always appears at the top of the screen when I'm in call mode. An EE agent says to change the 'send and receive number' by going to settings/general/messages.  I tried, but I can't find this setting.  Could someone help me please I can change the number to my new display?   Hi all, just got my Blackberry Curve 8520 for 1 week. I changed the phone number from the one provided in my old number to avoid having to inform all my cotacts a new number. When I go into the screen of the calls (the one raised when you press the green phone button) on the line "My number" it always shows the number not provided that I changed. I went to the Virgin Media Store today, but I've been told that it cannot be changed. I find this hard to believe, if it can be changed how? Hope that all makes sense.

  Wipe the old unit with a security wipe. I don't know exactly who the phone OS is running, but it should be under Options > Options or security > device > Security.   With my 8800, when I put it in the Holster, the keyboard is locked and the screen when outside immediately.

  I use the "BOLD" with the original sleeve that came with the 9000. I can't find this option to activate it.

  When I place the 9000 in its socket (case) the screen turns off, but the keys are always active.

  Can someone help me?

  There is no setting for this, it automatically when the BlackBerry captures the magnet in the Holster.

  How do you give the BB in the Holster? Top upward or downward? Try to reverse.

  Or are you actually lock the keyboard on Holster (not just darken it)?

  Straight to the vibration mode is not possible. However, if dial all the home screen is disabled, then pressing P on the sleep mode you brings to the profile menu. Now select the vibration mode... no sense reverse!

  Recently, I had to send my curve away from setting the led screen and received the same phone as a loan. She has set up my e-mail account and everything worked fine and dandy.

  Now, a month later, I got my blackberry back. The woman at Sasktel backed up the loan and restored it on my Berry. My bbm contacts, everything has been restored correctly.

  But I get no emails. Both my accounts are set up and all my previous emails are there until she me back on since the article ready to mine. How can I fix it? What I have to go to Sasktel and ask them to do?

  I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

  It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

  If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  On your PC (you cannot do this on MAC):

  1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

  • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

  (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

  Do not forget to save.

  If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  1. With your 'old' in your BB card, copy everything on your computer
  2. Set up your 'new' card
  3. Format the 'new' card in the BB
  4. Copy the text from the computer to the 'new' card

  Use of an adapter of your computer card reader:

  1. Remove your 'old' your BB card
  2. Use the card reader and copy the text from the old card to your computer
  3. Insert the new card into the BB
  4. Format the new card with the BB
  5. Remove the new card of the BB
  6. Use the card reader and copy the text from the computer on the new map
  7. Put the new card in the BB

  I inadvertently put initially in my e mail address/blackberry ID incorrectly, it is not a valid e-mail address. Now, I am unable to get any password to work with id when you try to access blackberry aps. I changed my id blackberry to the correct e-mail address on my desk, but it has not been changed on the phone. I made several attempts to connect using my correct email address and fake and changed my password several times without success. It seems to me the answer would be to eliminate my current blackberry on the phone id and start over. I saw a reference to going in 'menu' 'my world' on the phone to change the id, but there is no 'my world' in my menu...

  The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

  2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

  • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
  • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

  5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

  6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

  • Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC.

  If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.
