Change printer name
MY photo software cannot print on a name of the printer that is longer than 31 characters. No problem with the name of the USB but the name of the wireless printer has "(network)" after which in fact it is too long. How can I change the name of file to printer in the menu PC printer?
Open the printer and Faxes folder. Right click on your printer. Select Rename, and name the printer you need. That should be all you have to do.

Printer is no longer available through sharing after the change of name of PC.
share a printer after changing the name of the pc
I have 5 (4 XP Pro, 1 Win7) PC with shared printer and file sharing. The names of PC were not intuitive and I changed the more meaningful names. File sharing has continued to work, but the printer was more likely to assessment. He was always playing on the remote PC but the slightest mistake out. From a command prompt, I could print to it from a remote PC using the new name of PC, but not from Windows XP. The printer is connected to the Win7 PC. I tried to use XP search for the dialog new printer and it OCHA see the printer on Win7 but then would error saying that there was not. I changed the name on the Win7 machine and printing resumed again of the XP machines.
I need to be able to change the name of the Win7 PC and power find the shared printer on the XP machines using the new name of the Win7 machine which has the printer.
Been struggling with this for 3 days, through forums and other sites and found nothing.
Thank you
Uninstall and reinstall the printer again.
Windows is most likely trying to still access the old computer name.

I can't change my name from the computer to the printer mp160
I can't change my name from the printer about printing to the new printer and I put the disc with no response
Download a new set of drivers on the Canon website at: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp160#DriversAndSoftware, install the software and do NOT connect the printer to the PC until the Canon software tells you to do.

Change the name of the network printer wireless
We have several Officejet Pro 8600 in our building. We are printing wireless on their part and need to change the name of the printers so that we know who is who. How can I change the name of the network to a printer?
You can RIGHT CLICK on the printer in PRINTERS AND DEVICES. There will be a tab RENAME you can choose to change the name.
You will have to do it on EVERY COMPUTER in the building. The printer itself has a HOST name and is the name of the NETWORK.
It's about the only way that you can change the name of the printers.
I hope this helps.

How can I change the name of my HP OfficeJet Pro 8100, which is a network printer?
My employer asked if I could change the name of one of our network printers, so it could easily say that it is the choice of location of printers. I opened the printer from the control panel and choose Customize your printer, general. I changed the name in the box. After I did it, the printer was grey in the control panel and I got a message saying something about checking the name on the network. What should do besides changing the name in the box in general?
LottaLatte,
Welcome to the HP Forum.
One of the dangers of changing the names of "stuff" is that sometimes, this 'trick' is the actual program or a link to a real program that the computer must follow. Next thing you know, the computer lost track of the program used for - print, get on the network, or make a conference call.
An easy option and one that usually works is the following:
No matter when you want to rename an icon, or customize a program, or do something that can change the way a program - works first of all make a shortcut to the program and then change the shortcut.
Example:
Control Panel > set display icon > devices and printers >
Scroll to the bottom for printers >
Right click on the Active printer (HP PhotoSmart 8200 series) > select Create shortcut *.
* Text may vary according to the type of action - you can select "Send to desktop" to create certain types of shortcuts
The action creates a shortcut on the desktop
Next:
Right-click on the shortcut > properties > general tab >
Replace the name with any text you prefer
If the person for whom you are making the shortcut wishes, you can move or copy the shortcut in a folder, instead of the icon on the desktop.

Changing the name of a printer in my local network
I just bought the Officejet 6500 has more. Time to install it on my network of Mac OS Lion I renamed it library printer to differentiate it from our bonus room printer. When printing any of our Macs it appears correctly in the 'library printer' but during an attempt to a print job from our iPhones and iPads it appears in the native "Officejet 6500 E710n-z [58D29C] that is heavy research and confusing for the ladies of the House. Why mobile devices see AFFECTED the printer name?
Hello
Any iDevice will locate your printer Hello Service name.
In order to change the name of Hello, you can adapt the printer embedded Web server.
Be aware: as your Mac OS relies on the Service Hello, name change can affect the connection to the Mac operating system with the printer. If there is no printing problem from your Mac after changing the name, delete the existing queue under system preferences > print & scanning. Then reconfigure by running the HP Installation Wizard (under Applicaions > CEJA-Packard > utility device)
- From your Mac, open Safari,
- Click the bookmarks (the book open on the left side of the Safari bar)
- Click on Hello
- Double-click the name of the printer to open the integrated Web server
- Click on the network tab
- Click on Hello (in advanced settings)
- Change the name of Hello Service according to your needs.
Now the Mac OS and iOS will list the printer configured Service Hello name

How can I change printer in print_printer in ConfigEditor without damage?
I recently changed my printer to a direct connection to the computer for a remote (wireless) through a router connection. Thunderbird does not recognize my new default printer.
Former name of the printer has been "HP xxxx...". »
New name of the printer is "HP xxxx...". (NETWORK) »
I looked in ConfigEditor and is very concerned with the caveat about the evolution of things. I need specific instructions on how to change this in ConfigEditor so I saw things.I had not thought of that before (I do not print send a lot), but I found the following and found a slight improvement.
The previous posts:
1. open Thunderbird.
2 - go to tools-> Options.
3 - Click Advanced and go to the general tab. On the background, click on configuration editor (attention changes here!).
4. scroll down (or use the filter) and look for the print.print_printer entry. If it is not this registration, your problem is elsewhere.
5. right click on this entry and click Reset. (again, be careful, do not change anything else!)
6. close Thunderbird
7 - Make sure you have the right printer set default on your system.
8 - reopen Thunderbird and your printer should be ok.MY improvements:
4: instead of scrolling down, put "printer" in the search on the top line. The first entry that happens should be 'print_printer' (not print.print_printer).5: double-click on the "print_printer" and another window will appear with the current printer shown.
My 6: In the new window, change the name of your printer by "Default" (without the quotes), then OK. By experimentation, I found that this allows Thunderbird use what printer you have defined by default in the Windows print area.
You don't need to close and restart Thunderbird, at least I had not. Your new printer should appear when you go to print a message. If this is not the case, check that the printer is the default (green check mark) in the Printers box and Windows device (available from the Start button).

I have a Toshiba laptop 64 bit running Windows 10 Home, 8 GB, 1 t hard drive.
Router is a Samsung phone using Android because it was the only router that I could find which would take the wireless signal.
I live very pastoral, no neighbours for miles, so I never saw the need for a password on my router.
Now, some people are installs in less than 400 feet from me, and I think they're piggybacking on my Wifi because my access speed has slowed considerably since they moved in.
So I decided to change the password of the router, unfortunately, I can not put in any password I want. It gives me the opportunity to have a predefined password. So I changed the name of the router I could do without problem.
My computer very quickly without any problem, however, my printer which worked great for a year with the old router name does not connect on the new name of the router.
Here is what I tried:
I had hoped he would ask me for a new name / password, but it did not.
Then I plugged a cable between the printer and the laptop in the hopes that it would produce a different kind of results. It has not changed anything. There is no screen menu on what that be like this on the printer.
I pressed the wireless button that has the flashing blue light and nothing happened.
I pressed the button, don't know what it is, but it has a white light, and nothing happened.
I went on the HP site and followed the instructions but he just said do not connect the cable until told to do so. So I disconnected everything, lights out and turned back on and still no connection and no invite to plug whatever it is.
Y at - it everywhere where I have being a novice could get instructions on how to get this working?
I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.
Hello
I think you are talking about SSID. Please, think of it as a new router and use the following ways to correct:
http://www.HP.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-Help3.html
Kind regards. -
We had to change our name SSID due to being hacked. I used e-print on our cell phones and my I pad. Also used my printer with my HP laptop. I have a deskjet 3520 all-in-one printer. Now, I can't use printer because I can not change the SSID name. Our router has a power switch button. Also the printer appears on our i phones under wireless with our old name SSID networks. Please this is driving me crazy!

You have access to the EWS (built-in Web server) to the printer?
- Have the printer on
- On your computer, open your favorite browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer)
- Open a 'new tab' or a new window in the browser, something where you can type an address as you would if you were going to open a Web page (which is what we do)
- In the tool of Navigation Bar (where you type the web page addresses), type the IP address of the printer
Example IP address (the address of your printer will be different): 192.168.2.15
If it works, you will be able to update / change the SSID of this interface.
Example:
Click on the thumbs-up Bravo !
It's a nice way of saying 'Thank you' for help.
While I strive to reflect best practices of HP, I do not work for HP.

cannot change the name of the net p1102w wireless
I have a P1102W printer. It was installed and worked fine for a long time. I had other requiring changes that change the name of the wireless network. Even after running the Wireless Setup again the printer retains the old name of network and I can't seem to do the procedures proposed for displaying and editing this work. When I try to access the web site to the IP address that is given it says that the page is not accessible. How can I change the name of the network the printer to the correct network wireless?
I am running Windows 8 on the laptop that I use to set up the printer.
Product # CE657A
Hello
Try resetting the network settings by disabling the printer.
Press and hold the Cancel and wireless, then turn on the printer and keep both buttons until the lights between the buttons will be Flash.
Then run the install software once more by selecting the wireless connection, you may be prompted to temporarily connect a USB stick to transfer the current settings of the network to the printer.
Please let me know of any changes,
Shlomi

1217nfw MFP how to change network name and password when you buy a new routers
I have a 1217nfw MFP. It was working fine without thread. Then my router has stopped working properly. I bought a new router and easily set up my computer, the iPad and the iPhone to work with her. But I don't know how to change the printer set up so that he will see and connect to the new router (i.e., change the network name and the password that the printer uses to connect). Someone knows how to do this without having to uninstall and reinstall the printer as if it was fresh out of the box? Thanks for your help.
Thanks a lot for your help. The choice to click on my laptop were not quite the same as stated in the article, but the article got to the right spot and I was able to figure out the rest. So now my laptop is wireless printing. MacBook Air my wife still does not work, but I'll play with it after the holiday weekend. Do you know of an article that allows to change the name of the router and the password when it is a Mac? Whatever it is, thank you very much for your quick response and help.

Is it possible to change the name of a HP LaserJet 4250 tray?
Hello
We have a HP LasterJet 4250, and we use Windows 7 64-bit.
Is it possible to change the name of a HP LaserJet 4250 tray?
Greetz,
Jurrien Bruggink
Well there's no easy way to do I know offshore. I have come across this thread on Apple support community: Print rename status bar. They're editing the PPD file to change the names of the bins. It seems that it is possible within the OS X with some serious tinkering.
I couldn't find a place were someone was able to change the names of plateau in a Windows environment.
I hope this helps!

How can I change the name of the source to PDF document?
Mac OS X 10.10.4 Acrobat XI, worm 11.0.11
I used the "Print to PDF" feature like the Mac OS to create paragraphs of a document Word 2011. Each paragraph should be seen or downloaded from Blackboard server at our school. Seen on the web page, every paragraph appears with a tab titled with the title of the document to the original source of the word, not with the title of the PDF file. See picture attached.
I have 2 questions. Q1: What is the name of the part of the PDF file that displays the title of the source document? Q2: Can I change this to reflect the name of the file section, rather than the name of the original source document?
Thanks for any help.
Hi Samantha,
As you created the other functionality of paragraphs in a larger Word Document files, they would appear with the name of the Original file only.
What you can do to change the name of the file a name of origin is trying to save with a different name and looks so differently.
You could also try to modify the metadata of the files section and see if that helps.
Run the Original file > go to the file tab > properties > Description > additional metadata and then try to fill in the details mentioned here and see if that helps.
If it does not, save them to a different name might be an option.

Hello, I recently created a website for a client. I also created a brochure with a QR code that automatically redirects visitors to a single page in the site. Well, I had to make changes to the site and I had to change the name of the page in which the QR code pointing to. Is it possible to keep the current name of the page but create a page of automatic redirect named like the QR code? Basically, the brochures have all been printed already, so I need the QR code when analyzed in order to continue working. Now, it is not the case.
Nevermind, I figured it. I've reproduced the page, renamed the QR that indicates the code of the page, and then he hid in the menu of page properties.

Change printer in Acrobat in VBA
I'm putting the printer selected in Excel for the printer selected in Acrobat when executing using VBA and Acrobat objects. I can't change the name of the printer. I tried, but could not use it. Print (adobePrintSettings)... of ideas?
Set gAVDoc = CreateObject ("AcroExch.AVDoc")
gAVDoc.Open sNewFile, 'TW Print Utility - Temp PDF for printing', 'open the temp PDF '.
Define the gApp = CreateObject ("AcroExch.App")
Set gPdDoc = gAVDoc.GetPDDoc ' equal being open subject to Adobe PDF
PRINTER ADOBE CHANGE *.
Set adobeJSO = gPdDoc.GetJSObject ' printer javascript object settings
Set adobePrintSettings = adobeJSO.getPrintParams
printerAdobe = Left (printerUser, InStr (printerUser, "on")-1) ' truncate the network name of the string to the printer for Adobe
adobePrintSettings.Interactive = 1 ' 1 = adobePrintSettings.Constants.interactionLevel.automatic
adobePrintSettings.PrinterName = printerAdobe < NOT SET PRINTER NAME for gAVDoc
gAVDoc.PrintPagesSilent 0, gPdDoc.GetNumPages - 1, 2, 1, 1 ' operators PostScript level 2, the binary data included, page is shrunk
gAVDoc.Close 1' close PDF without saving
gApp.Exit
I'm sure it's as simple as the way I put the. PrinterName field, but he not work when actually prints the gAVDoc!
Thank you very much
Gary
Mmmh,
with "AForm.Fields.ExecuteThisJavaScript", you can directly run AcroJS.
Take a look for example and a discussion more or less equal to:
Re: JSObject "can't stand" getPrintParams or print - VBA/AcroJS
Also, you can simply change the default printer before printing. Something like:
Set oWSN = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Network")
oWsn.SetDefaultPrinter "MYPRINTER".
