Change printer ssid

I have a new router and you need to change the ssid of the printer.  The printer is HP deskjet 3050 J610.  But there is no ethernet connection. Also, I can't find the installation cd for install again. I have run the wireless network test report, and it shows that the ssid is not found.  He still has the old ssid.

Bean,

Welcome to the HP Forum!

You may be able to update the SSID of the printer front panel.

An easier option would be to reinstall the printer software.

Web page for your printer: HP Deskjet 3050 all-in-One Printer - J610a drivers

  • Enter your operating system from the menu drop-down
  • Click NEXT and scroll down
  • Find the category driver - software product installation
  • Select the for Base driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software
  • Save the *.exe installation package (s) on your computer

The files will probably save in the "folder"downloads. "

  • If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click on ' to install it, otherwise just right-click, select"Run as Administrator"and install.

NOTE:

Scroll down half of the Web page for your printer to find help from video that can help with installation.  Scroll through the list from left to right and locate the video that best fits your situation.

Click on the star of congratulations !

It's a nice way of saying 'Thank you' for help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100: change the ssid

I recently tried the Hotspot to unite AT & T.  That has worked very well but not decided to take it and went back to my Airport base station and the old service provider.  When I tried to connect my printer to my network - a printer works fine but the HP Officejet Pro 8100 will not change back the Name (SSID) the name for the old SSID hotspot network.  Since I was a new AirBook Pro I have to connect the cable to a USB port and then run the utility for my printer and select network.  It does not connect.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried this many times and it would be not just to reset the ssid. So after writing my post, I tried pressing the wireless button and the on/off switch at the same time. I went to try out some other combinations and print the configuration page. He changed the ssid for the correct name. Of course then I had to do what you described. Go to the printer utility with the cable connecting the computer and the printer and click on network. It has finally connected and I unplugged the cable between the computer and the printer. No problems now. Thanks for responding so quickly and hope it helps someone else.

  • I've changed my SSID!

What a fool I am! Everything went very well with wireless printing and my shiny new Officejet J6480, and then one day, no particular reason, I decided to change the SSID of my router. The arrow, the two laptops lose their ability to print wireless.

What should do? I have to uninstall and then reinstall the software on the laptops? Or I can somehow get into the new SSID (nothing else has changed) somewhere?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Tom,

My name is harry and I got to know that you have been faced with the question of printing your printer wireless. Now, Tom, you tried to reinstall the software using the option where the printer is connected to your notebook using the USB cable and that is the reason for the printer is not getting detected on your laptop wireless. You must follow the below mentioned steps to get the printer connected wireless:

    1. click on start, go to the windows printers and faxes and delete the printer icon if it is there after having disconnected the USB cable.

    2. click on add a printer option.

    3. it will start the Add assistant of the printer where it will give 2 options. First option will be local printer attached to this computer (Please uncheck automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer) and second option A network printer or a printer attached to another computer.

    4. Select the first option. Click next

    5. it will give you the option to select the Port on the computer.

    6. Select the option create a Port.

    7. Select Standard TCP/IP Port

    8. click Add Port

    9. it will start to add a wizard to Port and will ask you for the IP address of the printer

    10. Enter the IP address. Complete the add a Port Wizard.

    11. it will take you a window where you will be asked to select the name of the manufacturer on the left side and the name of the printer on the right side.

    12. Select Hp and the name of the printer.

13 complete the add a Printer Wizard.

14 printer icon will appear. Print a document to check if the printer works fine or not.

    Thanking you,

    Harry.

    Hello

Your computers use the SSID of your router - sound essentially its name.

    Check this box:

    If necessary:

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • How can I change my SSID on a WRT400N?

Each help topic I can find says you can edit these on the page "Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings ' of the web console.  However, when I do these values are not editable.  He pointed out the SSID and passphrase for each of the two groups, but I can't change the SSID.  And I have not found anywhere else I can modify it via the web console or LELA.

I just need to change one of my SSID.

On the pager configuration, click the Wireless tab. Here, select manual configuration and you can now change the SSID.

  • change the SSID

    Hello

I was asked to rename the current SSID (data, voice, Fords 1) because they have weird names. We have 3 controllers (4402) and ~ 55 APs.

Above all and change the SSID name for the particular WLAN want to ensure that customers will be able to reconnect correctly using the new SSID.

First of all, I guess I have to disable the WIFI network to be able to change it.

Can someone let me know if you need other things to consider as well as potential problem?

    Thank you

    Krisztián

    Hello

You can't cange the name of an existing SSID SSID.

If you want to use the different SSID name you will need to create a new SSID with the new name and your copy of case all existing SSID SSID settings.

Regarding the current SSID, you can disable or simply delete if you no longer have to use it.

But remember that this means that all clients associated with the previous SSID will be disconnected and will need to associate the new SSID.

  • How can I change the SSID for my C4780 printer can find my wireless phone?

I changed routers and got a new SSID.  Now I can't change it so the printer can find it.

The best way to do this on a Mac would be to uninstall the printer completely and reinstall it with the CD or downloaded at HP software.

Make sure you start by unplugging the USB cable.

During installation, you can choose the option network and connect the USB cable when prompted.  Follow the prompts and it should get reconnected to the network.

Here is a document from HP that details how to install this printer on a network.

There may be other ways, but the lack of a configuration wizard wireless (due to the feature of the screen), makes the limited options.

  • How can I change the SSID to a Photosmart C4580?

I browsed the forum and read some articles which none still worked. I use a Mac and spin the OS of Yosemite. In the sourse of trying to get the ro printer recognize the new router I have rest the factory default, so he now tells me that the SSID is hpsetup. How can I now change that to pick up the new router SSID?

    Hey Andy,

You can try to enter the password in the section "WPA - PSK", instead of "WEP encryption" section, to see if it will work. It won't hurt to not test.

Here are a few screenshots from another thread with someone who has the same issue which may help:

If try your password does not work, you can try an application called Keychain, which can be used to retrieve wireless password, just to make sure that you use the same one.

  • Printer SSID that are on my list of wi - fi

Hi, I recently bought the HP CP1025NW printer. I am able to configure this printer without any problems. I just noticed that the ssid of the printer appears on my list of wifi. At the same time that the SSID is not secure. I don't want people that I'm not able to access my printer and printing things out there. Is it possible for me to get it?

My apologies.  The most common cause of see SSID the printer is when connected by USB only as the network printer will not have a connection.

However, this printer has an additional feature called direct wireless printing.  This feature is disabled by default, but it broadcasts a second network when turned on, regardless of the connection of the printer.

I suspect that this function has been activated.  If you have not already done so, turn it on wireless and it should automatically connect to your network (this can take a few minutes to connect).

The following is from page 71 of the Manual.  Follow the same steps to get to a direct wireless configuration, but uncheck the box enable wireless direct printing.  Since it was broadcasting the SSID even with WiFi, this should turn this feature off.  I've included a screen shot of what looks like the page direct printing wireless is enabled.

Use HP Direct print (for models with wireless only)

Use HP Direct Print to print directly on the product from any mobile device (such as a smart phone, net
    book or laptop).

NOTE: No installation is necessary, but HP direct-printing must be enabled. Your mobile device must have a
    HP printing application installed.

    1. in order to allow the HP Direct print, follow these steps:

    a. once the product is connected to the network, print a configuration page and identify the
    IP address of product.

The network configuration page can be printed by holding button summary (paper with an arrow pointing down on it) for a few seconds.  Once the flashes activity, it should display the page a few moments later.  The IP address will be located on that impression.

    (b) on your computer, open a Web browser and enter the IP address of the product to the address
line. The HP EWS screen appears.

    c. click on the network tab.

    d. on the networking page, click direct wireless configuration. Select the check box, enter it
name (SSID) in the field of direct printing wireless network name (SSID) and then click
the button apply. The IP address of the mobile device is displayed in the network management page.

NOTE: To find the name of the network (SSID), click Wireless Configuration menu in the
    Networking page.

Wireless direct printing is a feature designed to allow users to find and print to the printer without having to constantly change networks.  Disabling wireless printing Direct won't affect your Apple devices or other printing as long as they are on the same network.

  • How could I change printer IBM 9068 A03 fonts so I'm better?

I am a linux user. In the past, I used Chrome for my browser. But a few months ago my company has changed our software and optimized for the use of Firefox. Unfortunately, the police of printing output, I got was so bad. My printer is an IBM 9068 A03 with driver IBM Proprinter II booklet, and it is little matter on police in Chrome. Can I change the font in FIrefox to get a better print output? Thank you very very much for help.

    Hello Françoise,.

No problem. Try to do it once more.

Therefore, print a lot of documents. right?

    Let's take an example.

Suppose you wanted a single document of yours in Garamound and another in Times New Roman. So, how are you? Allows to answer this and I think that would help. If not you can always ask for more help.

If you want to print anything in Times New Roman, just to change font of Times New Roman and use print options page to print.

Now, how change the police page?
It turns out that pages provide their fonts in firefox even if you select Times New Roman, always page fonts as he wants. But fortunately we can override this default behavior. Here's how?

    • FX menu go to options.
    • In options, select content.
    • Then click on advanced.
    • In advanced, uncheck the allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selection.
    • Click Ok
    • Now in the previous page, click the default font (Garamound, arial etc.) and click Ok.

You will display the user interface of the pages changed and now you can print the pages in your favorite font.

    It will be useful.

  • How can I change printer in print_printer in ConfigEditor without damage?

I recently changed my printer to a direct connection to the computer for a remote (wireless) through a router connection. Thunderbird does not recognize my new default printer.
Former name of the printer has been "HP xxxx...". »
New name of the printer is "HP xxxx...". (NETWORK) »
I looked in ConfigEditor and is very concerned with the caveat about the evolution of things. I need specific instructions on how to change this in ConfigEditor so I saw things.

I had not thought of that before (I do not print send a lot), but I found the following and found a slight improvement.

    The previous posts:
    1. open Thunderbird.
    2 - go to tools-> Options.
3 - Click Advanced and go to the general tab. On the background, click on configuration editor (attention changes here!).
    4. scroll down (or use the filter) and look for the print.print_printer entry. If it is not this registration, your problem is elsewhere.
    5. right click on this entry and click Reset. (again, be careful, do not change anything else!)
    6. close Thunderbird
7 - Make sure you have the right printer set default on your system.
8 - reopen Thunderbird and your printer should be ok.

    MY improvements:
4: instead of scrolling down, put "printer" in the search on the top line. The first entry that happens should be 'print_printer' (not print.print_printer).

5: double-click on the "print_printer" and another window will appear with the current printer shown.

My 6: In the new window, change the name of your printer by "Default" (without the quotes), then OK. By experimentation, I found that this allows Thunderbird use what printer you have defined by default in the Windows print area.

You don't need to close and restart Thunderbird, at least I had not. Your new printer should appear when you go to print a message. If this is not the case, check that the printer is the default (green check mark) in the Printers box and Windows device (available from the Start button).
