  MPEG files are problematic in all versions of Movie Maker.
  Best bet would be to convert the files to the. WMV format
  before you import into Movie Maker.

  There are many converters available on the net... some
  free... some detail.

  The following freeware converter is just one example:

  At the top of the timeline, there is (-) and (+) synbols, click the plus sign (+) symbol and you can each time frame is more tender. You need still longer, until it agin clicks. It shows in the timeline panel.
  You can also do adjusment to each individual slide, that is, you can create a slide run longer than the others.
  To do this, you must do it manually...
  Place your cursor on the right of the slide edge > the cursor is transformed into a pointer 2 > left click and hold > drag the cursor where you want to. The "sovereign" in the upper part is the guide.
  This manual adjusment will give you more specific term changes, while the sign (+) and (-) options are not.

  Try highlighting your video on the collection list and then clicking Save film on top of the toolbar. Go through the steps and it should save it as a wmv.

• No mouse works, all recognized devices, the strange slider movement

  I have Vista Ultimate 64 - bit SP2. I have a Logitech MX Revolution mouse and used a Microsoft wireless mouse and a Logitech Wireless Mouse Nano to test.

  I have been using the MX mouse for a long time without any problem. Then the mouse froze on screen. I restarted and since no mouse really work.

  The Manager of devices, says all is OK and shows the most recent drivers for all. I can remove all devices, reboot and install only a mouse - same problem.

  I have two big clues here. ((1) the device is recognized by Windows and works correctly (according to DevMan anyway) and 2) there is a few clicks of a mouse - but it's very random, strange little movement and is NOT connected to any movement of the physical mouse.

  The last clue makes me think that the e/s of the USB mouse was redirected to nowhere and the system is looking at a communication port that occasionally sends a signal interruprets Vista as being the movement of the mouse.

  Also, when I first installed the mouse Nano (same USB interface wireless), he worked for a few minutes, then frozen. I can't fix that, except turn off the mouse and turn it back on - then it may or may not work again.

  I also have a wireless Microsoft (not even wireless) keyboard, and who never stopped working. I can browse almost anything with the keyboard.

  I removed all Windows updates and uninstalled the drivers and software for all mouse devices. I also uninstalled all programs recently installed/updated and then rebooted - no change.

  The point TO make is that the cursor on the screen moves sometimes randomly on its own in ways weird and that it is absolutely not related to a physical movement of the mouse. The same motion occurs when no physical device is connected and no driver or other software on the machine for the mouse.

• CP9 - cannot change slide durations

  I have a new project to the CP9. It was built with period slide 3 seconds by default. I need to shorten the duration of the slide for all slides. When I change the slide duration value in the distribution for the slide Board, the change is not accepted. After you change the selection to another slide and return to the original slide, the calendar did not change. I can drag the slide on the timeline duration to extend the duration of the slide, but not to shorten the time. Time can not be again (shortened) using the setting of the slide duration, must be redefined and dragging the slide on the timeline duration. Even when you drag on the timeline, the slide duration cannot be given unless the original 3 seconds. I've selected all the slides and reset the setting to slip to a shorter term, but the change was not accepted and the default remained. I have been using CP for a while and I don't remember this behavior.

  Question: Does this mean that a blade can be reset in a period shorter than the default set in the preferences at the time the slide was inserted? How can I reset the duration of the slide for slides selected at a value lower than the default?

  In all likelihood, synchronization of the object on a slide is the minimum length of the slide control. For example, create a new slide with the same 3 second default. Add an object to the slide (I used a text caption). By default, the object has a length of 3 second. If you try to make the blade a shorter length, Captivate does not. However, if you right-click on the object and set the duration to the 'rest of Slide' there no minimum calue by default and you can then set the length of the blade to any value you want.

  Here's the problem with the models. To make them easy to customize, they are awful to customize. I know it's not supposed...

  They have complicated - sometimes more than necessary - which makes them easy to drop your own photos/videos. However, this means that if you REALLY want to change something, it's going to be quite complicated. I only buy templates if I want exactly what the model has. Otherwise, it's actually faster for me to build myself something. I have over a decade of experience with After Effects, so trust me on this, don't mess with the model. Without much more experience, he'll just be frustrating.

  What you can do, is switching to the video full screen. You need not stay in the template all the time. Put your video and images in the template, but there where you want it to be longer, put the beginning and ending in the model. Then, after you have made out of AE, go in first and just cut (or use a transition from light leak any) full screen video for executives, want to be longer. TADA!
