change the number of recently closed windows, firefox remembers

Hi, I want to increase the number of windows recently closed, who remembers to Firefox. Currently, he remembers three recently closed windows, but often when I click on hypertext links (no pop ups) they open automatically in a new window, which functionally removes the registration of windows I had open and he wanted to see again... that now they are gone, apparently forever. Is there some settings to change that? I don't need or want that Firefox remember my entire browsing history, I just want to be able to return on the 6 or 7 windows recently closed because 3 is not sufficient. Thank you.

By default, Firefox stores only 10 "previously closed tabs" out the window and 3 'previously closed windows.' To increase these values:

(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered

(3) double-click the preference browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo and enter your preferred Windows (I have 10).

(4) If you want, double-click the preference browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo and enter your favorite number of tabs (I have 20).

I don't see listed 10. I guess that there is a parameter that could be changed, to wear this.

  • Changing the data recorded at closing window pop up instead of using Save button/action.

We met a weird behavior, and we cannot say whether it is a standard feature.  When a spec is an a workflow step that is Signature request, the Requestee can open a link to view the specifications.  When the user has also editing permissions, they get the icon change in the pop up window.  We had a user edited the spec then decided not to save the changes, so used the fence (red popup ex) instead of the Action: Cancel in the application menu button. The user expects that the changes would not be saved. It turns out that by clicking on the window closed, save the changes without any notice.  User should close work as Cancel instead of save.  Is this normal behavior of the application?

Details.  6.1.1.1 on IE9 with popup version.

They made a change, close the pop-up window, then the workflow the request signature? Is the case, then it's behavior that we expect: when you view a spec, you can view the memory in version of it, which means that if you change the specifications, changes are made to the in-memory version. If then clicked on close, the in memory data are always responsible for this specification and it is possible that the request signing workflow event then records the specification with these changes. The Cancel button would back the changes.

However, you can save a request for development to have the window close act as Cancel.

    Thank you

  • How to change the number of "windows recently closed" that appear in the menu "history"?

The maximum number of "recently closed windows", I have 3 are available in my menu "history". How can I change the options to get more than that?

    Hello

You can try to click right and change the value of browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo in Subject: config.

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue on the subject: config page.

  • Empty windows appear in the recently closed Windows list

Recently, I upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1. (It seems that he could have two updates on the same day or after the other very short, but I'm not sure of him. I will be reminding upgrades of multiple instances of Firefox, all this same version. Thus, it * could * be true that this problem has arisen with this version or a recent previous version.)

Since the upgrade, empty windows appear in the list of recently closed Windows (RCWL). I try to keep the clean list, so when I'm done with a window holding sites I know I don't want to go back, I close all the tabs in the window, leaving an unused new tab *, and then close the window. These windows should not be included in the RCWL, but they are now.

[* I put new tabs to about: blank so that they will load the pages automatically.]

Since this standard behavior change comes with an upgrade, and since I can't find any reference to it elsewhere, including the Support of Mozilla, I suspect that it may be a new bug.

In troubleshooting, I tried deleting the list recently closed in these windows and tabs. I've never had before, but it seemed worth trying and as something that might have been relevant. I thought that perhaps a window would not "Save as really empty ' if it had recently closed tabs in the list. This tactic did not work.

I also tried to start Firefox in Mode safe, the reopening of all the RCWL, each one tab - a 'new tab' in all cases - closing then close each window. They always appear in the RCWL.

Please let me know if I can (or need to) provide additional information. Thanks for any help!

Try to set the browser.newtab.url pref to about: blank so currently, you do not use this parameter.

  • I can't see the 'recently closed tabs' and 'windows' recently closed in Firefox-> history. Where are they?

I use Firefox 4 Beta 3 and I can't see the 'recently closed tabs' and 'windows' recently closed in Firefox-> history. Where are they?

They do not appear on the history of the Firefox button entry, but they are always on the menu background traditional, accessible by pressing Alt and S.

Checking through some models of the Firefox button, it seems that he is expected to add to the option in the history of the Firefox button. Although there are probably differences, see this image for an idea of what the Firefox menu final button will look like at- https://bug583386.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=461697

  • How to re - activate the functions 'Restore previous Session', "Recently closed tabs" and "Recently closed Windows" in the menu of history?

For some time, four choices in the restore section (tabs of other devices, Previous Session Restore recently closed tabs and recently closed Windows) have been shaded. Keyboard shortcuts do not work, and didn't undo closed tab in the context menu of the tab.

I found and tried various patches to do this, including:

    • From Firefox in Mode safe without addons.
    • Firefox reset.
    • Change the values of browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo and browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo in all: config.
    • Check to see if I have a user.js in profile Firefox. (I don't).
    • Verify that the private browsing is not the default mode. (It is not).
    • Create a profile to see if it had the same problem. (He did.)
    • Running anti-malware analysis. (BitDefender and SpyBot).
    • Temporarily disable my anti-virus and anti-malware.

Any of these solve my problems.

Other devices tab is grayed out, but I've never used, and it might have previously grayed out.

The story works in general. Sites I visit are added to the log.

Preferences are saved correctly when I change them.

Any advice on how to solve the problem would be much appreciated, as I am very fond of these features and often served until they stopped working.

    ADDITIVE

After that looking through the list of preferences of change created by the resolution of the problems, I tried now also reset the following text:

    • browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion
    • browser.newtabpage.storageVersion
    • Browser.cache.Disk.Capacity
    • Browser.cache.Disk.smart_size.first_run
    • Browser.cache.Disk.smart_size.use_old_max
    • Browser.cache.Disk.smart_size_cached_value

    The problem persists.

I finally managed to understand this. In searching the Web, I found a thread detailing a similar problem on the Mozillazine forum. The problem has been identified as a missing browser.sessionstore.enabled set, so I went looking in Subject: config and couldn't find it. After creating the entry, by assigning the value true and restart Firefox, the functions of recovery/recently started working again. Apparently, some bookmark plugins and session-based can cause this problem, but in my case, it must have been something else, that I never had no such plug-ins installed.

If you have this problem, here's a detailed itinerary of the way I fixed it. Whereas there seems to be several problems that can cause restore/recently functions to stop working, it is not a guaranteed fix, but it is still a thing to try, at least.

    1. Open a new tab or window.
    2. Type of topic: config address in the box and press ENTER.
    3. Read reviews and promise to be careful.
    4. Copy this: browser.sessionstore.enabled - and paste in Subject: config'search box in s. press ENTER.
    5. If you copied the text at the top right, the setting should appear in the list. If it is not the case, you have the same problem, I did. (I would say that you copy/paste the text indicated and only this text before moving on to double check).
    6. If the parameter does not exist, right click on the parameters of the list and choose new-> Boolean. Paste the parameter name that you copied previously in the name box, click OK and then set the Boolean true. Once you have click OK, restart Firefox, and (hopefully) things should work properly again.

Thanks to everyone who offered help and thoughts!

  • I can't change the number of sides of a polygon in Illustrator 5.1 (Windows)

    Hello

For some reason, I don't understand that I can not change the number of sides of a polygon by double clicking on the tool. For other tools (where you can change something), it's no problem and workes, but not for the polygon tool. Someone at - it an idea?

    Thank you!

If you're talking about changing the number of sides of a polygon existing, forget it. Illustrator does not direct form primitives.

If you speak to change the number of sides to which the tool is set, the page AltClick to call the tool dialog box.

  • What should I do if "Recently closed Windows" shows nothing?

Today, I came across a very unusual problem. I was surfing the web and click on a url and it said to open it in a new tab. Instead of display 'Sign in', he showed a tab that was totally Virgin I clicked several times more and I duplicated the process. In addition, the X to close the tabs had disappeared as well. Not sure what to do I just closed the window entirely. I had a second window open, so I had to still Firefox will. When I flew over "Recently closed tabs", he showed the closed tabs that came from the second window in the box that pops out. I thought that 'Ok, everything looks very good." I then on "Recently closed Windows" and absolutely nothing jumped out. No box or anything like that. I tried to restart, but got the same result. I even tried to open a new window and go to something in the Favorites and closed the window. Still nothing.

    This has me very confused.

    I use Firefox on Ubuntu 14.04.2 39.0

After a few farm unexpectedly launches of Firefox and it suddenly works again. Very strange.

  • How to change the number of tabs pinned when I open a new tab?

Before today, I have easy access to 8 tabs pinned on my page tab and now I have only 4 and I can't change it back. What was changed and how can I change the number of pinned tabs?

"What was changed and how can I change the number of pinned tabs?"

The css for the margins and tiles has been changed. Try Zoom Out = {Ctrl liked-} to see more tiles. I need zoom back twice to get a 2nd rank.

Or use this extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/ - for more control on what is and what is not displayed on the new tab page.

  • Dynamically change the number of sub-panels

    Hello

I have a computer where usually 4 testplaces of production are connected to.

I want to have a main VI indicating the status of the 4 different testplaces, that I can do with 4 separate sub-panels - no problem.

The issue is that I would be flexible in testplaces how I show in a program (as this hole thing is pretty cool, and I expect that some changes will come). Is it possible to dynamically change the number of sub-panels displayed (other that make it twenty of them and turning off then those you don't need)?

My first idea was to place the school in a table, but unfurtunately is not possible.

    Best regards

It's nice enough for the demo beta like software, but works.

  • How to change the number of processors / cores

I have virtual machines that I have to move periodically between 3 computers main host that I use:

1 Intel Core 2 Quad CPU with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit - 1 processor with 4 cores

2 Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit - 1 processor with 4 cores

3 Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 CPU VT with Windows XP 64 bits - 1 processor with 2 hearts

    Hosts running VMWare workstation 7.

Most of my virtual machines running XP 32 bit and have been initially created for my 3 platform.

When I move my machines between computers I see that the parameters of the Virtual Machine for my change of processor in (for me)
in unpredictable ways. Sometimes it shows 1 processor and gives me a choice of up to 4 cores.
in other cases (always on a 4 base platform) 1 single processor with 1 core, in other cases, with 1 core 2 processors.

In most cases, my freedom of choice is limited, because the selection of the number of cores is grayed out.

When I try to make changes by editing the vmx file, I find them ineffective (no change).

The other problem I think is that my VMs run VERY SLOWLY on my i7 with 8 GB platform!
I have no idea if this is related to the improper setting of the number of processores / cores (I'm not able to define
1-4-hearts and spin with settingsd 1.1 instead).

Could someone please help me understand how:

    1. check / change the number of processors / threads on an existing virtual machine.

    2. how to set properly for an i7 processor

    Thanks in advance,

    Andrew

    1. providers that create virtual machines are in a race - they assume that customers use this version which proposes to use the virtual processors more ;-)
For some workloads inside a virtual machine - say Oracle or other database and applications servers such that it is sometimes really good idea to use more than one virtual processor

    2. virtual machines to scale differently with more CPU than the real computers.
Virtual machines are for host applications.
This means that the host schedules the time CPU to each virtual machine.
If you follow this thought that you will see that a virtual machine that uses one virtual processor has a greater chance to run then a VM with 2 virtual processors.
A VM with 4 cores running on a host with 4 cores will spend a lot of wait time - it may work only when the host reports the application of Workstation 4 hearts are available.

A virtual machine with only 1 vCPU will probably be able to run all the time without any waiting time.
This is why usually with a single CPU VMs feel better to the needs of the user.

This translates into the best practical advice: assign a CPU unless you really notice you need more.

    3. probably, you try to change the values, while the virtual machine is suspended?

    4.
    numvcpus = '8 '.
    cpuid.coresPerSocket = "4".

We hear two processors with 4 cores of each

    numvcpus = "4".
    cpuid.coresPerSocket = "4".

means a processors with 4 cores

    numvcpus = '2 '.
    cpuid.coresPerSocket = '1 '.

We hear two processors with a carrot

No effect? n ' mind that not all clients can use 2 or more processors
For example, XP is limited in this respect.
Some guests may also not change the number of CPUS after what they have been installed

  • Change the number of virtual processors on VM

    Hello

I have ESXi 4.0 update1 and a number of virtual machines on it.

As you may know, there is a warning saying "Change in the number of virtual processors after installation of operating system guest can make your virtual machine unstable." When you open the properties of the VM to change hardware settings.

However, I have a few virtual machines that I change the number of viftual UC sometimes (increase and decrease) and haven't noticed any problems.

All my VMs are Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/XPs.

Someone know that changing the number of virtual processors has no negative impact or not?

    I appreciate your help.

Depending on the configuration of your operating system, this can be harmful. WIndows not the component of ACPI, which must always be configured as uni or multi processor (windows detects usually it and change automatically, I really don't know the trigger to make it not happen, but sometimes it isn't). Also for example, Linux kernel can be compiled without SMP (multi processor support), in order to have several processors can cause the virtual machine to run slowly.

You may not notice any changes in your virtual machines, and I really think that you are not running on SMP issues. But if you want to check in the Device Manager, you can check if your ACPI is United or multi processor and change it properly.
