  • Change the SATA mode in Windows 8

With all due respect, Srivinvasa Sharath, your answer is very useful.  The question is not ' how can I change the SATA mode in my BIOS?  But, on the contrary, assuming I already know how to change the SATA in my BIOS mode, how Win8 to accept this change and actually start correctly.  There is a guide on how to proceed for Win7, but it doesn't work for Win8.  So we would know what to do differently with Win8 to make it work.

  • Aurora R4: newly installed SSD running in G2 / SATA300 - how can I 'persuade' the SATA controller to run at G3 /SATA600?

Good evening.  I was a little indecisive on the place where this post, but I think it's the right place.

I just replaced the main drive in my Alienware Aurora R4 with a SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD... works perfectly (and quickly).  I realized a clean Windows 10 Pro (x 64), generation to level to the latest version.  I'm not using RAID.

The SDS is properly installed and connected in the location SATA01.

This Aurora R4 has the "Dell", well actually "Intel" Patsburg 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller (revised A7), capable of handling G3 / SATA600.  However, two DVD players work to G1 / SATA150 and all four disks are running at G2 / SATA300.

I have the latest driver for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology, confirming a transfer rate SATA 3 Gb/s for my SSD (and the other three HARD drives).

How can I convince the computer I want to optimize my SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD performance, with the rate of transfer running at G3 / SATA600?

I searched on through the value of the library of web pages, but not found a solution.  I was hoping that it would be a BIOS problem (installed last), is a question of the SATA controller firmware, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  Technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver allows no fiddling, so I drew a blank there.

Knowledge advice would be warmly received, especially if you have a R4 Aurora that runs a G3 SSD / SATA600!

  • Satellite Pro M70 - ist is possible to change the craphics controller?

Is it possible to change the graphics controller to my Satellite Pro M70...
If so, where to buy a new one?

    THX

    Hello

Well, in general it s is not possible to replace or update the graphics card.
But I compared a Satellite Pro M70 unit because this series of laptop was delivered with different hardware configurations and I found that these installed graphics cards:
Mobile Intel 915GM Express Chipset AlvisoGM 8 MB to 128 MB shared video memory
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600SE 128 MB of video memory
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 700 256 MB of video memory

However, in my opinion you can not change the graphics card

  • Satellite L100 - how do I change the SATA mode in the BIOS options

    Hello world...

Why is it in the laptop Sat L100 that there is no option in the BIOS-> advanced where in I can change the drive to SATA?
I saw it in another PC Toshiba laptop

    Hello

If this option is NOT available in the BIOS, then you will not be able to change that!
In this case the controller HARD drive will tell in SATA mode and if you want to install an operating system then you need to install the SATA drivers first!

    Good bye

  • Default mode IDE of DCIS vice, is the SATA controller?

    HP Pavilion m7 - 1015dx, Windows 8 Pro, Insyde H20 BIOS F13.

I would spend my HARD drive to a Samsung 840 Pro series 512 GB SSD. This will be a clean install with Windows 8 Pro DVD and it has been recommended to switch the SATA of IDE controller to AHCI in the BIOS so that the PLATE to serve properly. Problem is when I enter the BIOS "Insyde H20 F13" it seems very limited, and I can't locate Sata to determine if I'm in IDE or ACHI. When I check the TRIM State via the command prompt, I get "disabledeletenotify = 0" which tells me that it is enabled. So does this mean that ACHI is enabled and I have more to worry about this topic?

    It is also recommended to:

    Enable write cache

    Disable disk defragmentation

    Disable disk indexing

    Turn off System Restore

Disable the Page file "I have 16 GB of RAM"

    Disable Hibernation

    Disable the Prefetch and Superfetch

    Disable ClearPageFileAtShutdown and LargeSystemCache

You agree with the foregoing during the passage of the HDD to the SDS?

    Hello

Even if the option is not available in your Bios Menu, the default setting is AHCI.

You perform a clean installation on the SSD, I suggest to let Windows configure options of the player without any tweaking extra - for example, it should detect the installation is on a SSD and disable disk defragmentation etc.  The only possible exception is that you can disable hibernation.  You will always get opposing points of view on topics such as the pagefile on SSD (and a mechanical drive)-personally I'd always leave it enabled that the OS was designed to use this feature, and I've never really seen any benefit by disabling.

Someone who can help? Thank you very much.

    Stefan

    Hello

Satellite U400-183 seems to belong to the series of PCU44E. Right?
The European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for this model.
You can find on the page of the driver for Win XP Intel Storage Manager and this package contains the SATA drivers.

But look, man here in the forum, you can find many comments about the installation of the SATA driver why you n t use the search option?

The best way to install the SATA drivers is the use of nLite.
He tool free s (you can find it on the internet) and it helps you integrate SATA drivers into the Win XP disc!

I did it and it worked for me

  • How can I change the sata functions in my bios?

Hi all, I want to use Killdisk to wipe my drive hard if I can do a clean install of win7. I have a HP Pavilion DV6700 with the version of the BIOS HP F.51. When I try to use the startup disk that I made using a USB usb it works everything simply. I changed the boot order properly and it still does not. As I read forums and support Web sites all day I basically said that I need to change my sata functions from active or disabled or vice versa, I can't remember which. However, when I enter my BIOS there is no area that allows me even of all control over the functions of sata which I understand is security setting (or something like that) used by HP to make sure that people do not FRY their processor by overclocking or whatnot. So the question I have to ask, it's... is there anyway to install (or flash, I think his name) a new BIOS on my computer? Sorry if this has already been resolved or if this is a stupid question I just searched all day for a solution to this problem and I'm kinda a noob. Thank you

    Hello

I think that CherylG is correct and that your notebook does not support booting from a USB - the simplest solution key would burn Killdisk on a blank CD and from there.

If necessary, free installation (ie 1 pass to write zeros) is on the link below.
