    I didn't change the thermal paste on my laptop Toshiba still but on my desktop computer, I use Arctic Cooling MX-3. I also read some tests on the Internet on the thermal fat and MX - 3 is still a better. Grease thermal OCZ is also good but the Arctic Cooling surpasses the OCZ.

    On the CPU and under the radiator, anywhere that is metal on metal, you will install thermal paste. On video and, possibly, the main chip of I/O, you will usually have 'pads' thermal that are made a composed like rigid silly putty. On some models, there is even a thermal "pad" on the CPU. If you are careful with those you can simply reuse. Don't put thermal paste on them. When the manual talks about heat 'material', this means the pads. When you remove the heat sink, it will be obvious when it is metal on metal and where it's a towel. Metal to metal contact points must be cleaned and have composed again applied. Cushion points should just be kept intact and reinstalled.

    Personally, when I rebuild a laptop, I don't like these thermal pads and I remove the protections and use the material of copper shim and you will sometimes need to use more than a wedge to make the heat sink have just the right connection. It must make good contact, but not to distort the heatsink. But if you use the copper shims you will need to use a thermal paste (for example, Arctic Silver) on the points above and below the shims. Cooling performance is much better with shims.

    The fan on my laptop died so I am trying to replace the fan and the heatsink unit. The manual that I use specifies that thermal grease should be used on the cpu and heat pads must be used on the graphics processor and the capacitors.

    You can remove the protections and pass with the dough so but only f, you are sure that the metal on the core processor and graphic is in solid contact. And there, I meant it touches and also has a lower compression. For me, the thermal paste is superior coolant and should be used on really hot spots. However, if the metal is not full, solid contact you run the risk of overheating.

    This one is pretty good. Your processor may be slightly different. It is a 'lid' processor with a metal cover on the die of the entire processor.     Recently, I experienced the same problems of overheating seen by many others on this forum. I even found this forum searching for a fix for the problem.

    * This announcement should be used as a guide only - repairs are undertaken at your own risk *.

    Now, my laptop is sitting next to me, idling at about 50 degrees - which is a massive improvement on the 64 degrees it was yesterday!

    To resolve this problem, I used the method to blow all the dust from the orifice (covered many messages in this forum). However, I also dared to disassemble the laptop and give it a THOROUGH clean. It is a process long and complicated - but not beyond everyone. Firstly - I used this found here guide to disassemble the laptop - http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA65/satA65_1.htm - be sure to keep * ALL * the dismantled parts!

    Once this done, you will find with the main card exposed. After that, I undid the screws that keep the TFT on the hinge and separated it from the chassis, while he was in two parts. Then, I removed gently the connector TFT from its place on the motherboard. There is a small screw, an additional wire to the TFT Ribbon to the chassis - I left it on, as I could not? t remove it! Then, I removed the Ribbon for the touchpad (carefully!) and carefully lifted the plastic all silver, away from the chassis part. Then I disconnected the power switch of the card mother - and completely taken off the plastic part.

    Now, the heat sink everything will be displayed. From there, it gets a little more complicated - and consists of removing your radiator and the processor. Then, I took the processor out of the chassis. You should now have a processor and a heatsink in front of you. The two should be a gray paste, gunky. This is known as the thermal paste and ensures a dispersion of heat from the chip on the radiator. On my parts, dough was propagated by the heat and on the sides of the chip - shifted far from where it was most needed. Now, I didn? t actually have a spare block when I took it apart last night - so I'm a plectrum guitar and smooth paste heatsink of heat and the chip on the surface of the chip. Once I covered the chip in a level amount of dough, I placed in the chassis and refitted the heatsink. Finally, I replaced everything what I had - and the powers of the laptop on the property.

    I realize that this might not work for everyone - I had nothing to do last night, and it was a ditch last try to improve the management of the heat of this laptop. Fortunately for me it worked. I am looking for a thermal paste today, so that I can make a good application of paste on the chip before that I re - assemble again.

    Of course, if you have a warranty on the laptop, it is not a good idea to open it up and execute this method. While cleaning I have unconsciously remove thermal paste from surface of cpu and gpu and now my laptop shows lines and points as a TV screen when it is a bad sign. I went to a local store of den the guys checked my laptop and the screen is fine, but something's wrong with the video card. I googled and just to know that I removed the thermal paste that must have been stuck back after cleaning.

    I'm trying to change the width of talking thermal relief of various buffers on an existing Ultiboard layout done with an earlier version, and that they do not change.     I was able to confirm the behavior you're seeing where the width of the rays is limited by the width of the measurement of the surface of the coppe / diet plan. It is certainly not intentional and I produced it for R & D to address a defect report. I am very sorry for the inconvenience that was done to you.
