Change timedate.cpl

Hi people out there

Some of our users love to double-click the clock in the system tray to open a calendar, which they browse then backward and passes through before, usually by clicking OK or apply buttons, giving thus the date some time in the past or the future. All's well until they try to log in again when they get a unexpected connection failure.

The timedate.cpl can be modified to remove the OK and apply buttons. I had a good look yesterday with things like 'Resource Hacker', "XN Resource Editor" and "PE Explorer" but this is a little beyond me.

I know that I can use GP to prevent change of the time, but like all our users have local admin rights workstation (because some of our lousy software requires it), I'm not sure whether even changes the GP would have the desired effect.

Clues?

If I simply rename (or delete) the timedate.cpl would solve the problem, but is there any dependant of the routines that rely on it which would then fail?

Help/tips all greatly appreciated.

    Start\Run\ timedate.cpl

    If not there is not use the find command to find and move it to the system32 folder.

    The date and time system can be changed using a control panel applet - timedate.cpl file.

    If you have the administrator account, you can refuse his user account access to the said folder.

    1. go to start > type cmd > press and hold shift + Enter (this will open CMD with Admin Access)
    2. on your type CMD in the command below

    Cacls timedate.cpl /p : n

    3. press ENTER.

    The command will refuse access to user account in the file so that it could not change the time and date.

    You probably have "associated" this type of file with Notepad.  You can change it in the control panel > default of programs > partner

    Whenever I open the Control Panel, I can have a bet to see how I find the appearance of the window: large icons, small icons, details...

    I just clean installed Windows 7 on XP, and am trying to update my reinstalled Office 2003, but MS update just gives me:

    Method 1: Click to uncheck the "Check for server certificate revocation"

    Note Use this method if you are running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003.

    1. start Internet Explorer.

    2. in the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

    Note If you don't see the Internet Explorer menu bar, press the ALT key to display the menu.

    3. click on the tab Advanced and then find the Security section.

    4. Click to uncheck the check for server certificate revocation , and then click OK.

    5 restart the computer.

    6. try to install the updates again.

    Method 2: Windows register the .dll files that can cause the problem

    1. click on Start , type regsvr32 Softpub.dll/s in the Search box, and then click OK.

  • The MCSTRM service failed to start due to the following error: the system cannot find the specified file

    My computer starts rather suddenly gel with many applications.  Today it froze again once I finished a long email and was about to send.  I lost him of course.  My Event Viewer was the topic.  Event 7000, Service Control manager Eventlog.

    Is that error on this post code, IE something deleted, probably your antivirus or you.

    For problems to explore, which has nothing to do with this post, try this (which covers almost any problem).

    Explorer

    Explorer (explorer.exe) is the program that is the start menu and taskbar, windows folder and the office (which is a folder window).

     

    To see if a fix is available

    In Control Panel (and select Classic discovered in the left pane) select reports on the problems and Solutions (problem of type in the START search box), go to historical problem, right-click of your error and choose check for the Solution.

    You can also right-click and choose Details for more information. Post these details here. The name of the Module fault is important information.

    If the problem affects Panel press the Windows key + R and type wercon (or type it at a command prompt).

     

    Close the browser and start a command prompt

    • Close Windows Explorer
    • Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator.
    • Click Start. Ctrl + Shift + Right-click on an empty spot (just above the power of buttons is one place) then Exit Explorer.
    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete then Task Manager.
    • Control all processes to explore are closed. On the process tab select explore and right-click and choose end process, repeat if more of an Explorer in the list.

    Then to restart the Explorer after trying all of the following

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
    • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and enter explorer
     

    If you cannot start the Explorer at all

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
    • Under the processes tab, click Show processes from all users to elevate to administrator
    • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and type cmd
    • Other things you can try typing

    If you cannot start a folder window you can use the Browse button in the new task dialog. Don't forget that you must right click and choose Open rather than double-clicking.

  • Crash Windows Explorer in Vista

    My Windows Explorer process (Vista OS) crashed and when I reload the powers of the PC upward, at Windows startup and then Explorer says that its defective, puts in place a dialogue box saying it is looking for a solution, report the problem to Microsoft and then tries to restart.   • Positions lost during the shutdown desktop icon

  • Cannot create folders

    I have 2 questions.

    I was not able to create a folder. For example, if I'm in excel and I want to save a file there is a button that says "new folder." When I point and click on the button nothing happens.

    For several months, I had was rename files to get. But I'm off to rename the files. I am not satisfied with messing around with the registry.

    First Question, he used to work I had no crashes or other failures. I'm following all recommended windows updates.  Why this work stoppage?

    How can second question, I correct this situation? I don't like some of the suggestions on editing the registry (scares me to change something that I don't understand). If this is a known Microsoft error there a fix before course and right?

  • Windows becomes white after the start
