  OE should follow XP settings for the most part.  Check in Control Panel | Folder options | File types and check HTTP and HTTPS protocols and also check file (htm and html) extensions.  See if that fixes it.

  It could be, however, that specific aspects of the ENP will use only IE, since both are somewhat intwined operationally.

  Search for malware:

  Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

  • MalwareBytes (FREE)
  • SuperAntiSpyware (FREE)

  Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

  somethings which may or may not apply: internet TV seems to work better in media center.  All updates have been applied to H.P. of Vista SP2. Netflix works fine in ie8 (such as the internet, of course). Tried to delete all the Internet Options, delete browsing history section of Internet Explorer. I get the same error message with my windows 7 professional media center, but netflix seems to play anyway (no game with vista). I recently installed quicktime alternative 2.72 to see what it was and how it worked, then removed and put back in quicktime.

  -Works on Win7 no problem (omegafiler)

  -Netflix says: microsoft problem (Nitestalker)
  -Microsoft is silent (this thread - on vacation?)

  -Disconnect from netflix, you reconnect again - ultimately the same error (chicagokiwi)
  -Tried to reduce the number of items in the queues to well below the limit of 200 (econcepts)

  -Disabled the firewall, no change (econcepts)

  Someone else knows Netflix not being is not able to connect?  It started yesterday (30/12/2009) for me.  I looked fine the day before without problem.  The message I get says "there was a problem of data recovery.  Check the works of your internet connection and try again. Ok.  I make it work with both my VMC - one with the service pack and the other without.  My OS updates have been loaded in early December, so I don't see how this could it be.  I searched and found this problem has come up before, but I have not found a solution.  I made NO changes to my HTPC.

  2009-01-05 has attempted to start Netflix this morning and you know, it works on both my VMCs.  That's the good news.  So now the real questions are:

  Only 20 people reported it as a problem and only 6 on the green button.  I believe that it affected all the world with Media Center.  So why not discussed much?

  It already happened, causes a stir and silently slips without known cause or cure.  How can we find out what caused this and how to prevent it from happening again in the future?

The last thing that I remember that windows was have an update, so I thought that was the problem. I did a restore of the system for this update and that did not solve the problem, so I decided to system restore a fortnight before an another update. This also did not fix the problem, also before every system restore, I scanned with Malwarebytes Premium & AVG Premium or whatever of the paid version of AVG is without any result. So, I have now decided to go to safe mode and scan because it might be something blocking it and still nothing. Also, I just remembered something pops up saying "Web Browser" became unresponsive, and when I press the button to end that my computer runs at the speed normal than it used to and I think that all that is "Web Browser" is the source of my problem (s). Web browsers, I have installed are IE, Opera and Firefox. I also did a search on "webbrowser" bing to see if this is a real program, and the only thing I found was that it is a Gimp plugin, which I use on a daily basis, so I found and deleted the plugin in Gimp program files and it has not fixed the problems. The only reason why I was able to come on these forums is because the thing "Web browser" popped up and I was able to stop him... I also took a screen shot of it to see if anyone of you thin people know a solution to my problem. Thank you

  Start Notepad and let Windows load completely.  Hold down the Windows key and press R.  For the run box, type msconfig and press ENTER.  In the System Configuration window, click the Startup tab, uncheck the box next to each startup item and then click on apply to apply the change.  Restart the laptop for this change to take effect and see if your browsers all run Ok if they do reactivate odon't start point (start with your security software) at a time, click on apply and restart , then check if the browsers still run ok.  Keep doing this until you encounter the problem of gel with your browser and you will know that the last program that you configured to start with Windows is the origin of the problem.

  YES, you can access other characters once the virtual keyboard is in place. Follow the steps below:

  1. After you have selected Internet browser under Network menu, press the Options button on the supplied remote control.
  2. in the options menu, select enter URL. (A text box with a keyboard appears on the TV screen)
  3. Once you see the virtual keyboard, press the blue button on the remote (below the 0 button).
  4. the characters change tiny > caps > numbers > special characters.
  5. continue to press the blue button to get the special characters on the keyboard.

  As far as I KNOW, Microsoft is not an add-on for Firefox can be opened from Excel in Firefox. It may or may not work properly depending on whether this Web site uses a MIME type for files it delivers.

  Another way to handle that would be via Open Office or free agency; both are open source (free) that allows to display files XLS (Excel) , and both programs have a Mozilla browser plugin to allow Firefox to open the 'Calc' of these programs.
