  Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.

  I printed a photo of the night before and the next day it wouldn't print.  I put in a new black cartridge HP first, and when it does not work I put in a new photo cartridge.  All my cartridges show as complete on the computer report but the report to the printer does not show anything in the settings of the picture.   THIS HAPPENED MORE THAN A MONTH. I STARTED WITH WINDOWS VISTA. HP SUPPORT ADVISED LATER FOR THIS WINDOWS 7 WORKS BETTER FOR MY PRINTER. NOW I HAVE INSTALLED WINDOW 7 AND I GOT THE PHONE SUPPORT TO GO ON MY COMPUTER AND SET IT UP. EVERYTHING WORKED AS SUPPOSED, PRINTING, SCANNING. THE NEXT DAY I TRIED TO PRINT SOMETHING AND I WENT BACK TO SQUARE ONE. The SCREEN LIITLE ON THE PRINT JOB CAME AND SAID THAT the PRINTER does NOT PRINT. I WENT TO THE HP SOLUTION CENTER AND A NOTE SAID THAT THE PRINTER IS DISCONNECTED. I RETURNED AND COPIED MY NETWORK CONFIG. AND THE WIRELESS TEST. EVERYTHING IS RUNNING WELL HUNG OF THE PRINTER. THE DEFAULT PRINTER IN THE RIGHT IMAGE. THE ONLY THING I NOTICED WAS IN THE PORT AREA. UNDER THE WINDOW VISTA, I GOT TWO PORTS. ONE WAS FOR THE PRINTER AND OTHER FAX. WHEN THE HP PRINTER HAS BEEN REINSTALLED, I DON'T KNOW IF IT STARTED WITH ONLY ONE PORT. THE PORT IS ENABLED BY IT AND HAS THE FAX FROM WORD TO THE END ON WINDOWS VISTA, BOTH PORTS HAVE THE SAME INFORMATION, EXCEPT A EU FAX OF WORD AT THE END ANY HELP ON WHAT SE PAST.

  My all-in-one printer (model 4380 vivera, bought in Switzerland) does not detect the print cartridges. I traded the color cartridge with that of another, older than I was and now everything is fine. I don't know when, this problem will arise again. The last time I was so frustrated that I bought another printer (HP 2050) which seems to work without problems. I have unplugged, replugged and clean the cartridges with filtered water. The problem may arise at any time. Help, please. Thank you.

  I'm sorry you have a problem with your ink not detected.

  The problem may be because the printer is of the Switzerland and the ink cartridges are NOT. The printer will only accept cartridges of the same region/country.

  For example, if you are in the United States and buy a printer and the cartridges come from GERMANY, he cannot read. Will suit most, but some of the contacts are different causing not well read the cartridge from the printer.

  Have set up the printer on Windows 7, 64-bit network.  The computer knows all the drivers installed.  When we hit print it does nothing, the printing doc is not in the queue, it disappears.  I have another computer on the network running Windows 7, 32 bit and it works fine.  None of the HP help stuff works.  I suggest that HP is an incompetent organization... cannot be anything else if they cannot sell a printer working or may be troubleshooting performed.

  We have installed the disk drivers, download and with the help of Windows.  We have all uninstalled and tried again.  Always the same, does not work.

  Except if it can be fixed, will be back this weekend.

  BTW, my son is a COMPUTER expert and spent 4 hours working on it... HP has him $ 400 to $ 100 hourly billing rate.

  Thanks for the link, but I called HP support and they have uploaded a revised version of the software and it works now.  The strange think is that it is not available (allegedly)... just strange to me that they sell something that does not work on a 2 year old computer.

  Windows 7 is causing problems with photo printers?  I had so many problems the photosmart HP printer wireless installation.  Whenever it has been installed, the next time I arrived, he would say "cannot find printer.  Best buy told me to NEVER install wireless immediately and later another told me that Windows 7 seems to have problems with wireless printers.  Called HP, they wanted me to install new drivers and then I got fatal errors to try this.  Finally, they had a legal person of HP contact me to tell me that the fatal mistake had to be caused by the problem of WINDOWS 7.  I had to restore to the day, I bought the computer, which was fine because I didn't really have anything worth saving, just a few documents.  When I did, everything seemed OK but I tried to scan a picture and there were points on this subject.  I scanned the same photo to another computer not windows 7 and without stains.  New HP denounces Microsoft Windows 7... saying that it doesn't have the same problems as Vista did, but a WHOLE NEW CLASS of problems.  Why are they not being found and fixed by Microsoft problems?  It's so frustrating, I abandoned and resumed the printer at Best Buy.

  Have you tried the printer connected directly to the computer to see if it works correctly? This can help to identify what you need to solve the problems.

  Manufacturers of devices, in this case HP, are responsible for providing drivers for their equipment work. However, the end user is responsible for installing the drivers correctly. In most cases of printer drivers must be installed without the printer is connected to the computer and only connected and turned when prompted by the installation program.

  Here are three books for this specific printer including how istalll it.  I suggest to download and review them to see if you properly follow the process:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&softwareitem=mp-52220-1&os=219&product=3192753&.  If you have any questions as you go along.  There is a lot of reading, but there's everything you need to know to do it right - it's not just a matter of steps, but also to do them in the right order (and there may be steps that you did not because they were not explained properly).  Make sure you have all the software, drivers and firmware necessary and compatible with both your printer AND your version of Vista.  Download and re - install them again just to be sure, didn't you build a time corrupted version first.

  If those who do not help, contact HP Technical Support at the: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support_task.html and request their help in istalling the printer and do print and work in all its forms, it should.  They know more about their products that we do.  I'm sure they will be willing and able to help you.

  Scan does not not on my HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-One.  The power button flashes when you press scan. Everything else works.  I tried to unplug it from the wall socket and reconnect it.  Not solve the problem. What else can I try?  Or, is it a piece of junk now and needs replacement?   My laptop (windows vista) did not go into repairs several months ago. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.
