Changeover CUE in a redundant configuration CME 4.0 scenario

Hello

can describe someone, please, what happens to CUE vm in the case of a failover to a redundant router of the CME. I suppose that Router 2 must have identical boxes VM created and all new than VMs will be stored on the Router 2 until the 1st router comes back online.

Thanks in advance!

There is no standard configuration allowing cue failover by TAC.

a big problem is that the two CUE voice mailboxes cannot be synchronized.

Although you may well have a CUE system configured with duplicated information, a manual failover would be necessary.

CUE failover is not supported by cisco at this moment by TAC.

    Hi all

I need to set up a new CAs as ACS secondary

    (1) that we have therefore need to configure the new ip address of the ACS server on all switches?

    (2) if the primary acs is disconnected so how high will work as primary?

    Thank you & best regards

    Hi Adam,.

    (1) Yes, you must configure the IP address of all RADIUS servers on your switches so that they can be authenticated by the servers of Ganymede according to group aaa of the device to the network. The two ACS servers in a cluster do not share a virtual IP address.

    (2) if the primary ACS is disconnected then it will not work as a primary school. What concerns the rest of the ACS primary school which sank. You will not be able to make most of the changes without return to the deployment options and return to Local Mode or promote on primary.

Local mode means that your data will be removed an existing cluster. Switch to the main ways that the primary and secondary servers reverse roles. What you would do in general during a break is to work in Local Mode and when the primary is restored, it could save the secondary back to the primary to be synchronized with the primary.

If you want to save changes to the secondary image (Server B) that have been performed then the primaries have declined (Server A), you must turn primary with Promote to primary B, add as secondary and after the sync switch roles between them by promoting A main.

  • Configuration complicated for my scenarios network

    Hello

I don't know if exactly what I want is possible, but I'll try to describe what I want as indicated as possible...

I use Windows Vista as a host and I have Windows and Linux as guest OS. Most of the time, I have access to the Internet from only 2 different locations, my house and the University. At the University, the connection is simple, wireless and I need to use a HTTP proxy for http connections (I also have access to the SOCKS proxy). At home I have access via the ethernet cable and sometimes also wireless, but in this case, the connection is direct, I don't need proxies. On the host system, on my laptop, I have an application that will take care of the power of Attorney for me, I just need to make profiles and everything will work, but is irrelevant. The wired connection at home don't use DHPC, I have a static IP for each of the computers on the network.

Now, I'm looking for a way to configure VMware network connection in a way where I don't need to change the type of connection network each time I go from the House to the University or the other way around. I mean, if I select NAT, I want NAT to work on the University and at home, if I select bridged, the same...

Right now, I "bridged" selected "reproduce the physical network connection state. DHCP is enabled in the two guests (Linux and Windows, Arch and XP Pro to be precise), and I'm connected to the University WIRELESS network. Everything works so far, the only drawback is that I need to specify the proxy in the two guests. I don't know if the same exactly the configuration works well for me, both wired and wireless connections, but I guess that Yes?

    What I need/want to do:

    (1) is there a way (I have a feeling that it will be not possible) to set up the two guests or at least one of them, to set up the VMware network, somehow that I don't need to specify the proxy? I mean, the proxy is already set on the host computer, it is working, use this connection, use this proxy. Is this possible?

    (2) this is the most important point, and it is important only for the XP client. I am Web Designer and I use the client XP install a lot of browsers and do my debugging it, however, my local HTTP server is on my host machine and in the home, simply browse through 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' and I can see my Web pages. I need to be able to see these same pages by the VMs, no matter if I'm at home (wired or wireless) or the University.

Already, I can access my Web server host, wired home car. Because of the connection of bridge, I just need to get the ethernet address (instead of localhost of course) of the host, and it works. The problem is with wireless networks and I think that it won't matter that I am at home or University. Both have the IP dynamic and maybe another thing that does not allow me to access the HTTP server on my host machine.

How can I do it then?

    > Nazgulled wrote:

    > This isn't the problem. As I said, I "m already running service a host with both configurations ron proxy." I think that the proxy will listen only on 127.0.0.1 and it is probably the only thing I have to > change, other than that, it is good to go...

    Is what proxy?

    > But what I really wanted to know, how to do? Laughing out loud... I already use the trigger guard, how to set up this VMnet1 to work as I want then? That's what I want to know... I've been digging > in the "Virtual Network Editor" but I can't do it...

"Virtual Network Editor" is the right place to go...

If you have not changed the default value:

    • You should have an interface VMnet1 and VMnet8 host in addition to your physical network cards. Check with 'ipconfig/all' of the host. The IP address for VMnet1 is one you need to use.

    • You should have a VMware running DHCP server that provides the correct IP configuration for VMnet1 and VMnet8

    • You should be fine by adding just an another vNIC on the hardware configuration of the guest.

    If it does not exist:

    • Open the "Virtual Network Editor"

    • come on in "Host virtual cards" and add VMnet1

    • go to "Host Virtual Network Mapping", click on the ">" next to VMnet1 and choose "subnet". Enter a network with a mask of 255.255.255 192.168.x.0 address.

x must be a value that is not already in use on the host computer or on the same physical network.
Click again on ' > ' and choose DHCP, accept what is shown.

  • You should now have a network of 'host-only' of work.

  • In both cases:

Take a look at the screenshots. Finally, it should look like to shown here.

  • Autoatendand and CUE voicemail issue

    Hello

I'm quite novice in the voice thing, but I have to configure couple thing. Please indicate how to configure CME and CUE to drop below bhhaviour:

-working time extensions is transmitted to the CUE

-After working hours the same extension is forwarded to your voicemail and CUE sends e-mail on new message notifications.

I now how to pass the extension to the CUE or voicemail but I have find a way to get the same time extension onet to the location and once to voicmail

    Thanks in advance

    Two options:

1 if you want to transfer the domain name to a different location during business/non - business hours, you can use the night service to achieve. See the following doc for an example - http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel7_0/administrator/script/scripteditor/nssamp.pdf

    2. If you want to enable or disable notifications based on the time of day, this can be configured in the user configuration notifications section in CUE. You can specify the days / time notifications should be sent.

  • Groups & redundant index

First of all, I read the Cisco Content Services Switch redundancy Configuration Guide for version 7.40 and version 8.10. I am active-backup VIP and Virtual Interface redundancy configuration. I like Cisco documentation, but sometimes I can not just to wrap my brain around their examples. In my case, they are simply too simplistic; In addition, I have a few unanswered questions:

    1. what happens if I do not create an "essential service"? Will be my redundant services and content still rules maintain flows if my assets goes down?

    2. do I need to source in order for the ASR groups function properly? My stand-alone configuration uses them, and I'd rather not add them if they are not necessary (Cisco docs aren't clear on the need).

    3. is there a meaning to the #s what to choose for "redundant-index? They must just be different for each rule of service/content, correct?

Thank you - I appreciate the comments (I'm still waiting for an engineer Cisco sent me a configuration of redundant balancer with several personalities...)

1 critique service: is used to detect a failure in the respectable which should lead to the (failover) failue of the css. So it is an option. most of the time, it is also used for the sharing of fate: two virtual routers (client/server side) use the same critical service

2 source groups are used for nat - ing are not necessary for the asr, but if you have them in the normal design u should make redundant

3 redundant-index: there is not matter

  • ISPS double and two redundant ASA 5520 VPN tunnels

    Hi all

I have a requirement that looks like this:

-with two ISPs (of course public IP of different subnets), I have two firewalls that we have to do 2 l2l VPN tunnels.

Virtual private networks will be redundant to each other and in the case where one of the links is congested, traffic should pass through the other tunnel.

Did someone do something like that?

    Thank you

    Vlad

    Hi Vlad,

To have redundant connections, I suggest the following link:

ASA/PIX 7.x: example of redundant Configuration or backup ISP links

To find out when the link is congested? I don't think it could be possible at all on the SAA, with a UDP IP SLA jitter, but I think that it is supported only on IOS routers.

  • issue of configuration for the store of data/LUN iSCSI

Hi all!  I am all new to VMWare and iSCSI, and I have a question about data warehouses regarding being mounted on an iSCSI target.

Here's my setup.  I have a Dell PowerEdge R810 connected over a link to 10 GB dedicated to a Dell PowerEdge 2950 that I use as a SAN.  The R810 has no hard drives in it, it starts ESXi on a redundant configuration of SD card integrated into the server.  My SAN software is Server 2008 Enterprise with Microsoft iSCSI software Target 3.3 installed.  I created target 1, LUN 0, 800 GB .vhd file sitting on a NTFS partition and set up a store of data on it in VCenter.  The data store is the size of the entire iSCSI, 800 GB target.  I have my first virtual server up and get 50GB of space between the data store.

Here is my question: can I create several virtual machines using the data store I put in place?  I know it sounds like a stupid question, but my concern comes from some reading I did on several computers, access to a single LUN.  If I set up another virtual machine, it will explode on my SAN file system as two virtual machines would be to access the same big VHD file on the NTFS partion, or I'm far from base?

    Issue of bonus points:

I have an another R810 that I will be online soon.  Assuming that I am OK to add more virtual machines of my first machine, pourrais I connect this box in the data store as well and create virtual machines, or should I set up a separate data on another iSCSI target store?

Thanks for your patience with a new guy.  I searched and read for hours, and I could have read too much so I thought that I had just askt experts.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Can I create several virtual machines using the data store that I put in place?

    Yes.

If I set up another virtual machine, it will explode on my SAN file system as two virtual machines would be to access the same big VHD file on the NTFS partion, or I'm far from base?

No, you should be fine.  One thing to keep in mind is that the Windows/MS iSCSI target is not a supported storage solution.  There could be problems of scalability with iSCSI Windows/MS, but you'll be fine in a VMware perspective.

I have an another R810 that I will be online soon.  Assuming that I am OK to add more virtual machines of my first machine, pourrais I connect this box in the data store as well and create virtual machines, or should I set up a separate data on another iSCSI target store?

You could, but I personally would put in place a different data store on another iSCSI target.

    Good luck!

  • configuration of several hardware iSCSI initiators

I have 2 qlogic iSCSI intiators in my 3.5.4 ESX Servers I need to connect to an iSCSI target in a redundant configuration. With the vSwitch network connections it is simple enough, create a vSwitch and group all interfaces NIC that you want to use for this vswitch. The network layer deals with redundancy and load balancing. With iSCSI software initiators, it looks like using the vmkernel from what I've seen in the SAN configuration guide.

Each hardware iSCSI adapter seems to have need it is the own address IP etc... How can I set up redundancy and load on 2 separate hardware initiators balancing?

Initiators of material are a little different, because they have a BIOS configuration aspect as well.  If you want to boot-from-san configuration, you must configure your initiators with their hw bios and set the IPs and the targets and LUNS to boot from BIOS hw.  With other than the boot LUN LUN, they are configured in the same way as the initiator of the sw.  Each card will be visible in the section storage cards.  You access this configuration and configure targets and LUNS on each.  Once you do this, you will see the same LUN via multiple paths, ESX will recognize the LUNS as separate for the same LUN paths and redundancy is achieved.  If your San is active/active, you can split manually which LUN will be accessible through which HBAS and load balance like that.  You will still need the vmkernel port in your vSwitch as the initiator of the software, but instead to simply configure the initiator sw 1, you configure both your HW HBA.

  • How to configure ASA IPS, which is connected to the Internet

    Hello guys,.

I am a beginner in the Concept ASA IPS and that my company HAS an ASA 5520.

Currently, ASA has been connected to the router connected ISP and internet acting as a firewall to control the traffic which

is integrated with Websense URL filtering.

Can you please let me know what all should we expected to configure IPS in this scenario, and what is the IPS feature.

What is the main function of the IPS?

    Grateful to your messages.

    Kind regards

    KA.

    KA;

The main function of the AIP - SSM in your ASA 5520 is to perform deep inspection packet and signature matching to detect traffic potential of achievement within your network.  If this traffic is detected, the AIP - SSM denying traffic to cross your ASA.  Here is a link to a brief overview of the product:

    http://www.Cisco.com/go/aipssm

First, you must configure the ASA to divert traffic to the AIP - SSM for inspection, it is shown here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/IPS/7.0/Configuration/Guide/CLI/cli_ssm.html

So, you want to make sure that background basket interface (GigabitEthernet0/1) is added to a virtual sensor on the AIP - SSM for allow the inspections to occur.

You want to make sure that the signature on the AIP - SSM definitions are up-to-date.  This ensures the most accurate protection from the perspective of the AIP - SSM.  This will require an active license be installed on the AIP - SSM.

Then, you most likely want to monitor events generated by the AIP - SSM.  To do this, Cisco offers a free entry-level called IPS Manager Express (IME) solution.  You can learn more and download IME here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/go/IME

You will want to monitor EMI to learn that the potential risks of security in network traffic crossing your infrastructure.  When you experience events for which you would like to understand better, you can site IntelliShield visist Cisco for further investigation:

    http://www.Cisco.com/security

Details here, can also be extended within the IME event view.

Use of an IPS will be a continuous monitor and learn phase in order to ensure that you are aware of traffic expected and unexpected, and that the appropriate response can be applied.  This is something which is different in each environment, so it is not a simple white paper on how to perform these actions.

  • Configuration of Apache by default port problem.

    Hi Experts,

Today, I met a working port of apache configuration.

    My scenario:

I have a domain with a managed server (both on the same machine) and also, I have configured apache server using code below,

    < location / >

    SetHandler weblogic-Manager

    WebLogicHost 192.0.0.1

    7005 WeblogicPort

    < / location >

The application runs on port 80 by default. Thus, when the user access to the DNS means www.support.com (example) means that it redirected to the 192.0.0.1. Then user acesss the homepage of the

    request. So far no problem.

My requirement is, if the user accessing the DNS also redirected www.support1.com(another one) to the 192.0.0.1 and also access home page of the application itself. But what I want is, need for the user to access the specific page (example: billing page) in the application, not the home page.

I don't want to set up separate port (apache level) and separate the IP (DNS level) for the www.support1.com.

I tried to write the virtual host inside of this I used the name of the server, but it does not work.

Can I write the IF ELSE condition in the httpd.conf file as if your access from the ww.support.com go to this URL to go to that URL (billing page)

    Please share your expert suggestions.

    Kind regards

    Simo.
