Chapter not appearing markers do not

If for any reason any my new 4th Gen Apple TV does not seem to recognize chapter markers on the videos that I encoded in Handbrake. If I open the file with Quicktime chapters show. On my 3rd generation and 2nd Gen Apple TV, they both show upward. But for some reason any 4th Gen does not recognize them.

I have other files that do not seem to work, but those that have been converted to MKV using iFlicks. So I don't know if it's something odd with how Handbrake encodes the markers or what.

Make sure that you have given the track chapter language.

  • Prelude no appearing markers do not in the first

I added a few markers to video files in prelude and I do not see these markers appear in the first (where I use the same files in a sequence).  Anyone know how to get markers appear?

    Hi Jon-

Yep! I see the markers of the speech.  I forgot to mention the particular case second marker of handling which differs between the prelude and first Pro - and it would be with markers of speech.

Premiere Pro is a powerful workflow in their metadata Panel. There is a section of discourse analysis in this Panel that displays your discourse markers. The workflow of marker of transcript of speech that had been originally designed for Prelude and Premiere Pro was based on execution of Automated Speech-To-Text service. This generates individual markers for each word.  When this is done, you will be able to see every word to highlight in the metadata Panel as the video comes to this part of the clip. You can also set IN and out points and edit clips based on the spoken words. Very cool.

In your case, it seems that you have used the markers of speech as placeholders for entire sentences. While this still appears in first Panel metadata words pro will not so much be in sync (because each word is not assigned a time code, only the beginning of the sentence has a timecode).

I suggest to use COMMENT markers to organize your transcribed sentences manually spoken by your players. They will appear in Premiere Pro as standard markers in all the places I mentioned above.

Let me know how do you on these trips.

    Kind regards

  • dynamic titles or chapter... markers?

    Hello world

I have a question: does anyone have a 'how to' on the following:

I made a video which must contain a feature, which allows viewers to skip to the next chapter. Or better said: the next question. This is a faq video, which is pretty long, and I want viewers to be able to have the opportunity to go to the next question. Therefor, I'm looking for something like the dynamic titles (like: "question 2 starts here") that pop up when you scroll the timeline.

It will not be displayed on youtube and it is also certainly not end up on a dvd. Can someone help me with a how? I have access to flash, never done anything with it. I usually work with the pp and ae. But I think that if someone wants to be good enough to describe - or point - a 'how to', I would be able to understand. Thank you so much in advance!

  • What about notes at the end of EACH chapter?

OK, I know that Indesign is not configured for the end notes (Yes, I say it is staggering - please, please fix this). I made of the workarounds for formatting of notes before and will do so again if necessary. BUT, now, I have a customer who wants their notes at the end of each chapter (each set up as another story).

Before doing the work of the workaround again, is it possible that ID will import chapters special, with notes and put in place pointed out that the notes at the end of each chapter (not the book)?

I just want to know before doing the layout with the notes of liaison through paragraph styles (yuck!).

In parentheses, you are all working on a fix for this? My friend guard shout to learn me LaTeX for this reason alone (not to mention costs).

    Thank you

    krmartel wrote:

And they will remain as the end of chapter notes, when I build the book?

Uh, why of course they do. As soon as InDesign important chapter, all notes are converted to plain text. And while they "won't budge" anywhere, just like regular text.

The only way that can happen that you ask here is if does InDesign support 'live' in the end notes. Which, as you know, this isn't.

  • Seeing no chapter markers in Encore CS6.

I created Chapter (not the generic markers) in first Pro CC markers, and given each of them the names (no comment), that I confirmed arise as hover text in the timeline of the PrP.  Now, when I tried to export a simple sequence with this chapter, as MPEG-2/DVD markers, make chapter markers appear when I "import calendar" in Encore CS6.  However, when I export my whole project, which nested sequences (not sure if it matters), the base clips which have chapter markers... I have him not see my chapter markers in Encore.  What is a limit?  I mean, in the PrP chapter markers must be set to the shallower (less nested) level of the timeline to export?

I looked around forums some, and what little I found spans a few versions of again, with some changes to the UI complications.  One, in Encore CS4, advised the "make sure you have 'Include Source XMP data' selected,'... but I can't find such an option (in my most recent software).  The closest thing is the button of "metadata" at the bottom of the Adobe Media Encoder, which opens a panel with a drop down (top-left) to "export options", including "Create file" or "embed in the output file. Unfortunately, the latter is gray.  I understand that certain types of format do not xmp data to be shipped, but I thought that MPEG-2/DVD enabled him.  Nevertheless, the online tutorials I found say that Encore CS6 is smart enough to pick the file with data xmp (chapter markers).  With this in mind, I was careful to not rename or move the file .xmp of which created Adobe Media Encoder.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

It seems that the problem is nested sequences.

Fix. Markers are only exported to the exported sequence.

is there any fix that doesn't involve respotting and retype it all markers from ~ 40 to the timeline root manually?

    Not that I know of.

  • Extra character notes in InDesign - don't know why?

Hi people, newbie on the forum here.

I work on a document of long duration with InDesign and am having a strange problem appear. Im still relatively new for the software so I hope its just something caused by my small scope of knowledge and there is a twist.

I placed my text from my Word documents on the InDesign problem with notes. Everything is as it should be-except that for some reason, there is a "1" before each citation reference. No idea why this is. They are not demolition ravages or anything like that - but it looks weird and seems a bit confusing. Initially, I thought they were referencing the chapter number, which would have been nice, but it's the same '1.' through each chapter notes. They are not selectable, so I guess it's sort of a problem setting?

Screenshot attached. Very appreciated for any help.

  • Am I blind or just simply not internet savy?

    Hi all

Sorry if this is a very obvious question.  I have been hunting around the internet for a tutorial or something a little more descriptive then adobe documents.   I am currently working on a book, 288 pages.  its divided into 12 different chapters.  However, I have a document befor intro chapters.  what I try to do is start page count on the 1st chapter, not in the first chapter of (pre) which is 12 pages.

If this is very obvious, I apologize, I'm just starting to do this and work on a computer at school to actually do the work, so Im on a limited time on a computer that does not have internet access.  I have remove them printing instructions, and then have to bring in another room.  We have a very strict policy with some computers and internet access.

    ND

It's pretty simple, if is not intuitive.

Select the first page in the document of the chapter meadow in the Pages panel, and then use the Panel menu or right-click to select the numbering and Section Options. You're going to want to sart at 1, but change the schema of numerals or letters or some thing so ID not complain on the duplicate page numbers when you have your actual page 1.

You did not if several documents together in a single document or a book. If multiple files, select the first page of the document that the page that you want to number 1 and return to the numbering and section options. Click the radio button to "start paging" and enter 1 to force a restart number.

If it's any one document, select the page where you want to start at 1 and in the numbering and dialogue sections check the box to start a new section, and then set the number 1 and change the style back to Arabic numerals (this is the point at which the ID might complain if there were pages containing the same number using the same style of figure).

  • Chapter numbers will appear in the table of contents with page numbers...

First of all, thank you all so much for the display of the answers.  This forum is wonderful.

I have a doc that needs to have chapter numbers appear with the page numbers in the table of contents.

    I insert the < $chapnum > and < $currentpagenum > in the footer and I get 1-1 appears.

To include 1-1 in the table of contents, do I have to edit the referring Page, or is there another way.

Thank you very much for your help!

Change the reference to the table of contents page to use the building block as well as the first page, which is <$chapnum>chapnum.<$pagenum>

  • The title of chapter in FM10 name variable

I'm tweaking a model I created, which was based on the standard book provided with FM10 models. For some reason when I insert the variable name of the chapter title, the title of the current chapter does not appear. Instead, the name of the file is. I read in the help PDF you can use the variable to spread the name of the folder, but I need to do. I want to just the title of the chapter to appear in each file in the book.

Is anyway to fix this? I have change almost all paragraph tags, so maybe I have the variable to point to my new tag of paragraph titrechapitre? This problem occurs in all files in the book.

I'm under FM 10.0.2.419 on Win 7 32 bit. I also installed CS5 (not sure if that makes a difference or not).

    Thanks for the help,

    Smitty

You must configure a hierarchical book by using folders in order to properly the collection variable $chaptertitlename as you wish.

See this blog and content demo that shows roughly how it is used: http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2009/09/fm9_hierarchical_books_new_variable.html

Note: even if the blog never mentions the name of the variable, one speaks of the $chaptertitlename. It comes to early examples of new approach to stealth documentation from Adobe via the blogs using the methodology of catch-22.

If you want to insert the title of the chapter (content picked up by a paratag) in the header or the footer of your master pages, then use one of the variables M/F running, specify the name of paratag, for example <$paratext[ChapterTitle]>, and don't forget to try to decipher the meaning in the help file. [Your sanity will thank you for it.]

  • Numbers chapter in the TOC?

    Hello

I wonder if there is a way of:

1 print the chapter number in Word using a kind of method of auto-numbering and
2 bear chapter numbers appear on the same line as the chapter name (e.g., Chapter 3: implementation of XXX).

    Thank you!

I guess you want numbering to be implemented you generate HR. There is no built-in for HR option so the temptation would be to create a model where your heading 1 style applied the numbering. You could try it but I think it will fail, or it may cause other problems. I see a number of printing problems and many occur when people use their own models. There is nothing wrong with them, it's just that many fail with release HR.

What I suggest you try is using a copy of your project. Create a copy of the Style mapping template if it isn't already in your project, or create a copy of the master style mapping template which you should find in C:\Program Files\RoboHelp Office\RoboHTML\PrintDocExt. Open this copy in Word so that you are working on the template. Don't mess with the content. Just Wade in and modify the heading 1 style and generate then select the model in the last page of the wizard. If the numbering was applied something to offer to the gods.

There is most likely no. However, if you select the first example and reapply the style, well, it may seem, but that will be of real use if he suddenly also starts the other headings with numbering. Alternatively, you can try go models and add macros in Word and selecting update Styles. You will need to close and reopen the document. You must also turn it off later.

At this point, you might well have what you want, but I am doubtful. If you have, please after return exactly what you needed to do. More likely, he did not work or if it has, it's simply too klunky (although not all steps have to be repeated each time and it is not quite as bad as it sounds). However, I would expect you say, thanks, but no thanks.

There is another option. In the layout of print wizard, you can change the name of the book and Add chapter # in front of the name of the book. It's a little complicated that what you have to do is click on the chapter title and change it but leave the cursor in the field, do not click outside. When you click Next it won't move the wizard, instead, she saves the change. If you later change the page layout, you simply have to do this once.

There is a whole bunch of stuff on my site about printing and printing problems.

  • PE Quicktime 11 titles of chapters?

I use iMovie and just purchased EP 11 (Mac). In iMovie, I add titles to a video and when I export it to m4v or Quicktime format, and then open the sequence exported in Quicktime Player, the chapter titles appear in a drop-down list.

I would do the same thing in EP 11, but I can't figure out how. I tried adding historical markers and then specifying the chapter information, but it does not appear in the exported Quicktime sequence. I did tons of research on the web, but nothing helped. Perhaps, Adobe does not refer to them as 'chapter titles?

Can someone tell me please how to do this? Thank you.

    Dan

Just to follow someone else who might find this problem. I found a program of free Mac called "Metadata Hootenanny" at http://www.applesolutions.com/bantha/MH.html. One of the things that it is you can add titles of chapters to any capable of playing Quicktime movie type. This isn't the perfect solution, but it's better than nothing.

  • Sequential numbers exhibitor or help we can reference?

    Hi all

I would use the notes numbers provide (sequential and changes automatically when you add another reference) but I don't want the note. I want to put in the chapter notes.

Is there an easy way to do this in InDesign? I prefer not having to go by and any number of them in exhibitor hand manually and reorganize as needed.

    Thank you very much!

    Nicole

You ask about notes? They appear in a list at the end of the chapter.

InDesign does not support endnotes, but it is a free Peter Kahrel script that will do it for you: convert notes in notes at the end. Peter Kahrel .

Here is a small tutorial on how it works to Anne-Marie Concepción at InDesign Secrets: InDesign tutorial: convert notes in notes at the end with a simple script: lynda.com - YouTube .

  • How many OCD can make you their nest?

I have 3 books, each with several chapters and their own TOC covering their own subjects.

I place all 3 books in a book of parent, also with its own table of contents, which covers all of the children.

When I post, the only table of contents that is included is the parent. All child content is present, with the exception of table of contents.

What is an undocumented feature in Framemaker?  Is there a switch or a process, that I can use to make sure that the tables of contents of the parent and children, appear?

(I tried a mini-TOC, but that must be added to each chapter, not the whole book).

    Thank you.

Files generated in children's books are ignored in a book of parent - this has been covered in another thread [I can't get the page numbers in my table of contents to update when I update the paper.]

You can work around this by importing the tables of respective contents by reference into FM files that are added to the master structure of work or as part of the original books according to how your preliminary pages material is arranged.

  • PDF file shows different numbers of blocks of text in 2014 of CC and CS6

    Hello

I inherited a file at work that shows a different number of blocks of text, depending on the version of Acrobat to view the file. Here's the question:

    As seen in CC 2014:

"Chapter 1 - a chapter title": appears as two text blocks - one for "Chapter 1-" and a "Chapter title" "»

    As seen in CS 6:

    "Chapter 1 - a chapter title": appears as a single block of text-"Chapter 1 - a chapter title.

This only happens in regards to a single chapter numbers figure which are integers. So:

Chapter 1, Chapter 5 and Chapter 7 entries appear as two CC 2014 blocks, a block to the CS6.

Chapter 2.0, Chapter 10, Chapter 6.1 entries appear in Uniblock in 2014 CC and CS6.

The PDF file was created - I think - with the backup-PDF feature in Word 2010.

No idea what is happening here?

    Thank you.
