  In my form, I used a multiline text box that uses the user can enter the words up to 4000 characters. My requirement is when the user on the box type then a text message tells the user about the character left.

  I recently started using Adobe InDesign and love it! I have a question around the table of contents. At the beginning of each chapter, we have a simple page with a box in it. (each chapter has about 10 pages). The intention is to have the content of the text become the title of the chapter box and have it displayed in the Table of content. The text box itself has several characters of new line in. When I generate the table of contents, InDesign creates several entries in the Table of contents (one per each new line in the text box). So my question is... Is there a way to specify that the content of the entire text box appears as an entry in the Table of contents. (I'd like to update the table of contents by hand to avoid any errors).

  So, you say that, break forced line and you want that all the rows in the table of contents? I think that I misunderstood.

  If this is the case you're going to the trouble of formatting of the table of contents, as the forced line break will carry you through to the table of contents (you can change the colours using styles or nested GREP and those will not set if you use a different style in the table of contents list itself).

• Automatically convert soft line breaks in the text box to hard breaks

  I have the design of textbooks and convert to ePub recomposable, broke up. These ePub files get formatted then can be used interchangeably on the printed text. A book that I am currently in conversion is a literature book where there are lines of text with the overall line numbers so that teachers can quickly refer to a specific section of the text.

  All the line breaks in the ID file are defined just by the edge of the text box. So the text box change sizes, all line breaks would also change. Isn't a problem until you need to keep these online breeze in recomposable text and add up the numbers in.

  
  What I'm looking for is a way to insert automatically the line breaks in these LONG sections of text in the right places. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that?

  Hi Steven,

  I think the main thing that was missing was adding the elements used in the PL/SQL "Page to go".

  The reason this is necessary is so APEX know what values of point on the browser should be sent (as part of the AJAX call) to the browser.

  IF you had all the elements that must be returned to the screen, then you will use the 'Page field items to return.

  I've also corrected a few things, P6 instead of P6 and P6_SEARCH_TYPE instead of SEARCH_TYPE, but they were just small "bugs" in the example.

  I also added another real action to refresh the report after the update.

  I am currently working on a PDF form in Acrobat Pro for a small company, and they asked if there was a way to limit the amount of text that you can put in each text box to the actual size of the box. For example, when entering in your information, the text should be limited to the size of the text box and allows more to be written after that. I already disabled 'Scroll long text' properties tab, but for some reason any it always scrolls when you type beyond the limits of the area. Is there a way to fix this?

  You may need to limit the size of the text by making a right click on the text field, and then select Properties.

  The dialog box "Text field properties", go to the 'Options' tab and then enter the number of characters you want in the option "limit of characters.

  I'm trying to understand and master the elements of text boxes in Muse.

  Why some text boxes seem to have a minimum size (sometimes) and cannot be resized to fit the text content?

  What does the line in dotted lines in the text box?  It seems to be linked to the entire text box, but I don't see how or why.

• Gray out or disable the text box

  I have a drop-down list called CN_Entry_Initials with options of a "C" or a "N". I also called Part_Number to enter a part number in a text box. I want the text box part number be grayed out or disabled until a "C" or an "N" was chosen out of the CN_Entry_Initials of the menu drop down. I have this operation, except that I can't add it to almost anything. I think it's something to do with the way in which I have if statement for this disabled text box, or do I have to change the touch of a button "submit it". Does anyone know how to fix this? Below is the javascript and the drop down menu code menu and the text of the box as well as to add it or submit button. There are additional stuff in Javascript I have on the page, but I don't need to worry about those things because they do not work properly. I have the code text box disabled in the upper part of the javascript in the verify() function code. Thank you.

  Seems that the braces "{" Javascript function are incorrect, the audit function performs only the feature of toggling the Part_Number text box which is the reason why the alert function worked when you added it in here.

  What you can do is to create a separate function which just active / disable the Part_Number text box and add it to the onchange event of the area of selection.

• Change the display of the text box

  I need to create a text box that only shows "*" when your typing but needs a correct answer of 1234. Try to make it look as real as the direct environment, I found a captivate module that does this, but the person who created left so I could ask him. Looking at the properties of the text box I can't understand how they have it just show that "*" and not what is actually typed.

  Hi Kevin

  When you look at the properties of the text entry box, click the Options tab. Once you do this, you should see a check box labeled "Password". If you click to place a check mark here, everything that is typed is reflected to the user as an asterisk (*).

  I'm not sure to understand what happens when the text inline boxes are dragged - I have 6 on a page that are the width of the page but different heights and I would like to re - order them so they mix it up or down depending on where I drag them, but at the moment they go to the bottom of the page or disappear completely I can't work on the behavior.

  Select each text box and if you use v5 Pages, visit the reorder menu and text wrapping set to None. Now, the text box are not repellent, and you can position them as you please. If you always use the Pages ' 09 and then again, select each text box and the Wrap Inspector, deselect object causes wrap.

  What problems are you having with the arrow? You go to Tools-> annotate-> arrow and an arrow appears. Then you can drag around the head and tail to make it to the desired location.

Pages 09, if I did drag a color from the menu of color on a text box, it might change the color of the text. 5.6 pages this action changes the fill of the text box, not the color of the text.   Force the behavior of Pages ' 09 v5.6? Absolutely not.

  Pages ' 09 and v5 are entirely different applications and not surprisingly, they work differently also. In the Pages v5, fill, text and a text box border color come from different parts of the application, not a central color palette.
