Charger lighting up orange, no power. :(Water damage

The eve of Christmas on my boyfriend spilled a glass of juice on my macbook pro closed Office was on... It was plugged. I assumed it was going to be fine, caught and he wiped away with a cloth but then when I tried to turn it on nothing has happened. Then I put in the rice and tried 4 days later... Still nothing. Now tonight I plugged the power cord and it is enlightening to orange but the computer still wont turn on! IM assuming that water damage was the thing in wind less than the rear of the macbook as it was closed... Does anyone think theres a chance for repair? I don't know anything about computers

Apple Genius Bar is your best bet.  Water caused short circuits.  I hope that you have backups, but your system allows easy HD removal so that the HD can be put in an external box in case you should give up the old system and buy a new one.

Genius Bar will tell you the extent of the damage and repair costs.

Keep it unplugged and don't try to power only after notification by Genius Bar.

Good luck.

Your HD might have survived, although he stopped abruptly and the OSX is a little unstable at startup under OSX.  Again, Genius Bar can tell you if the HD is damaged.

  • Satellite 2805-S201: AC power light flashes orange 8 times

    Hello

I worked on a Satellite 2805-S201 and everything was fine until I put a PCMCIA wireless with 3, 3V power.
After that, the AC power light flashes orange 8 times and recycle.

It comes with power supply, battery, AC and no battery installed, etc. If I pull out the power plug and the battery and then put both when AC is green and the battery may charge. As soon as I push the power button, I hear a light click on the right side of the device and then it goes into the amber cycling power.

Bulletins of support mentioned that the card could get damaged, but did not mention the unit itself.
No, the PCMCIA card is not always connected

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

The flashing provides a micro code which refers to the hardware failure.
But please don't ask me what might mean this code because in my opinion, only an authorized service provider can be read and can check in his manuals and documentations.
But it is of course, in most cases, it s a hardware problem of motherboard! ;(

Perhaps the external PCMCIA card was not totally compatible and damages of something on the map but it's only my personal suggestion to ensure what s bad hardware fault diagnosis would be necessary.

  • Satellite L - water damage and the laptop does not light

    Hello

I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I was just wondering if someone could give me some advice. My brother spilled some water on my laptop 3 days ago (argh!). He immediately turned off and won't start up again. I stamped it towards the top as long as I could, removed the battery and positioned in a V shape to try to help dry. It is still not started. When I plug in the adapter, the screen remains blank, but there is a very low humming noise and the lights flash:

The power light flashes green very clearly
    Battery green LED flashes weakly
The hard drive LED blinks green VERY weakly

I'm really hoping that the laptop is not dead and I'll at least be able to recover my hard drive, but it seems unlikely. I'd appreciate really any advice that anyone can give me in regard to what could be wrong or how I can fix this problem.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

    Hello!

I agree with Luke and the best way is to contact you an ASP. They can check the laptop and tell exactly which parts must be Exchange or not.
On the Toshiba site, you can search an ASP:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported downloads & => find an authorized service provider

If the HARD drive is not defective, you can backup your data to another PC or laptop as Luke suggested.

    Good bye

  • Smartphones blackBerry water damage: repairable?

Here's my situation: since my battery would lose all fees within minutes being disconnected from the charger, I leave my Blackberry Curve 8530 permanently connected. I left a small amount of Koolaid without sugar (sugar-free doesn't mean no corrosion... right?) next to my bed, unfortunately also next to my phone, and I took a NAP.

Now, unfortunately for me, I won't stay again in my sleep. So when I woke up, I saw my drink had been knocked down, and my phone has been soaked. I have no idea how long the phone had been soaked, and my phone is powered when it happened. The Blackberry in an Otterbox, but the compartment was still wet. The sticker in the battery water damage is bright red, and the one on the battery itself is pinkish.

Given all this, is the repairable damage, or are all gone for good contacts? I dried my phone out and tried the rice thing, but the phone will power is no longer completely over... the red LED lights up for a few seconds and the keyboard lights up, but then it fades a little, and the screen never lights.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Depending on how you actually did 'rice thing', you may or may not have completed it. Because the instructions say leave it in rice, WITHOUT CONTACT WITH HER, for 3 to 5 DAYS, I suspect that you have not fully completed the process.

The only thing that is predictable in the intrusion of moisture in a BB, it's that the results will be unpredictable. I heard about people who a BB was totally soaked for awhile to get this back to life to the rice trick. I heard about people who got a BB only a small amount of moisture never come back to life no matter what happens. I've heard everything between the two institutions. It is therefore impossible to predict the outcome of your specific situation.

But, the more times you try to bring it to life before he had the full time in the rice for really dry, less is always coming back to life. Since you clearly already tried at least once before you fill out correctly the thing of the rice, the probability of coming back to life already declined.

    Good luck!

  • How to fix an iPhone 6 water damaged?

My iPhone 6 recently fell into the toilet clear-watered and I automatically took and cut the power, I then took down to the it Department in my college and had a technician shake all the water and remove my hard case to dry everywhere for me, but also to remove the SIM card. From there, I kept it out and about two hours later, obtained a bag of white rice to the kitchen of the College to put my i6, before putting it in my friend tried to turn it on and managed also, only the apple symbol pops up on the screen and it wouldn't really lights up, it is the latest sign that I saw him working. I went to repair an electronics store downtown, but the guy gave me a call recently and said all hope is lost for her. I am extremely disappointed by Apple at this time and I refuse to think that my iPhone 6 is burned because I saw many people fix on YouTube by soaked in alcohol, or something! I'm not sure what the seller of electronics, but I feel like I'm sure he didn't do much to revive. Please tell me that all hope is not lost, and how do I manage to fix it. I've been a very loyal customer to Apple and always highly recommend it to other people, but if my iPhone 6 is simply grilled on a 1 second fall-in with the toilet, I'll be sure to cut my short loyalty and express my very negative experience with others. The iPhone 6 is very expensive and should not have such abilities of poor water/water waterproof resistance of the water.

Blame you Apple to drop your phone in the water? Are you serious?

Even if the phone is quite expensive, it IS NOT impermeable to water, is not allowed to survive water damage. This is clearly stated everywhere where it is possible.

If you need a phone that is sustainable water, you should look for one of the specific models that have these capabilities and which are certified and tested to be waterproof to the water.

You can only hope for the best and maybe leave a feature request for Apple at the link.

  • How to back up data from the iphone water damage over 6 sec.

I dropped my iphone more than 6 s in sea water, and it seems capable of lighting (which shows a black screen). I'm trying to back up data. When I connect the iphone with the computer, the following prompt box appears on itunes. Now I'm confused. Could someone answer my questions please?

    1. This means that my iphone is still able to turn it on?

    2. that means that only the screen is broken and the motherboard still work?

    3. How can I save the data without entering the password by using the touch screen?

    Thank you very much.

This means you should STOP PUTTING ELECTRICITY through your phone untreated, ack!

Your phone has a display problem, but yes - it lights up.
Perhaps your problem is just a bad screen (which is unfortunately a part of $250 to a 6 sec more now).  Apple cannot help you with other water damage that offers to sell you an iPhone refurbished for $349.

But most likely, your problem is also on the logic board - usually fixable.

There is no way around the need for touch operation and the image on the phone to access the data.

In order to access the data on the phone, you need your advice to hold the power and start, (it does) you need of your screen image lines, and you need to contact work.  Ideally, you would also have your backlight lines works as well.

Most of the phones in this condition have a pretty good shot in data recovery in this situation - touch, and line of the image problems are usually solvable if your phone can be detected by iTunes.   It is certainly not DIY work, this is a troubleshooting open-ended the microsoldering and level of card issues.

Your only option for recovering data would be to find a good microsolderer experienced in data recovery.

I recommend to replace any phone which has seen water, corrosion on the Board always weakens solder everywhere, so the phone is likely to have a shorter duration of life more problematic.

Note: It may be possible to cancel your option for the swap of OOW $349 at Apple if you continue recovering data at the level of Council - although I've never seen this happen.

  • Potential water damage

Hi, I recently showed a family member the waterproof function water on my Z3, that I had to only less than a year and after drying if off my splash screen goes fuzzy, so I restarted it, and to my surprise it didn't go back turn. I had tried to charge the phone and the battery light was not lit. Now, my phone remains in a bag of rice just in case there is water damage.

Before you test the waterproof function to water, I always ensure that both components are closed tightly and correctly.

Hey, thanks for the quick response.

I don't know what happened, but it works and is working fine now, thanks for the help, have a nice day.

  • IPhone 6 s life after water damage

So my iPhone 6s fell in the tub (I still feel stupid) and after doing all the steps and put it in the rice that I tried to open it a thirty hours after I put it in rice. The phone open, fortunately, but I noticed that it took a little longer to power and power off. He also had a bright diagonal stripe on the screen which I guess was the water so I put back it in the rice therapy. Anyway, my main question is, is the power on and put off the power of the issue or the problem of screen I mentioned something I have to worry?

You should worry about corrosion. Unfortunately, the iPhone is not waterproof. You're lucky if it still works after contact with water. Usually, phones and water do not mix, and water damage are not covered by the warranty. Corrosion has already begun.  You must schedule an appointment of genius at the Apple Store

to assess the level of damages. They will offer you the best solution.

  • My pavilion dv2418nr wireless light stays orange

My pavilion dv2418nr wireless light stays orange, you don't go to the Blue will not recognize the connections surrounding neighborhood.  ISP says that the router is fine, this is the switch of the laptop not allowing the card read wireless connections. HP tech told me plug Ethernet from the router to the laptop... I got on the internet very well... but it isn't a hard connect.  Anyone had this problem with their switch?  I think that until this little light turns blue, I have better luck.  Thanks for your help

  • Satellite L300 is dead - the battery light blinks orange 6 times

Does anyone know what was the cause of this yellow flashing light?
I have the same problem with a Satellite L300.

Battery light flashes orange 6 times when I press the power button and nothing else happens. Dead laptop.
I just picked up a service guarantee yesterday where they replaced memory card and the mother.
He worked for 45 minutes then screen erased and won't turn on again.

    Anyone know about this problem?

    Hello

The blink code provides some kind of clerical error, and this error is not always the same.

Individual booklets are equiupped with different motherboards and provide different codes.

It looks like a hardware problem and therefore, you should contact the ASP again.

The warranty is still valid and you should take it!

Don t waste time own investigation but get in touch with the guys again and explain your situation and that this error has occurred again.

    Welcome them

  • IPhone 6 s water damage, the phone turns on, is the battery just fried?

My phone got wet almost a hot tub... was not at all.  Tekdry working on it, so its dry and did not work during a day.  Now its finally works when it is plugged in, but used to hold a charge and seems to be stuck in recovery mode.  IM more than sure that it must just be the battery.  In any case, she takes in the Genius bar, unfriendly guy told me they would not replace battery water damage indicators show?  Why wouldn't they just allow me to pay for a replacement of the battery?  I know it may or may not work and of course my phone is out of warranty damage, if Im not looking to blame future maybe problems on Apple.  Just shocked I couldn't give them $90 to a new phone?  Is this a common practice?  They said that they would only replace whole phone for $299... Please help or give advice, thank you!

Yes, it's standard. Your only option with Apple will be to pay for a full out-of-warranty replacement device.  The costs for this in the USA are $ 299 for which you get a refurbished device to factory OEM with a 90 day warranty.

  • My Airport Express will randomly start flashing orange and I have to unplug it to make it back to the green.  Wifi continues to operate even when the light is orange flashing.  Anyone know why this is happening?

My Airport Express will randomly start flashing orange and I have to unplug it to make it back to the green. Wifi continues to operate even when the light is orange flashing. Anyone know why this is happening?

The next time you see the flashing light amber...

Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the AirPort Express

If you see a button update, click on update the firmware on the airport

Otherwise, find status and click on the little orange dot it. A message will appear to say why the airport complained and suggest a remedy for the issue.

  • How to backup iphone 6 after water damage?

Before putting in your device for a repair / replacement, you are prompted to make a backup of your device. This can be done directly from your device in iCloud or you can connect your device to your MACbook and do in iTunes.

But how you do it if your peripheral water damage (iphone 6) engaged?

Then it is too late, should always make a backup before something happens.
