Check disk starts when you start Windows 7

I just had to install a new hard drive and a message to run the disk check.

But when he got to the verification of the empty space it was running at a pace that would have taken 3 hours.  I couldn't stop her, so I rebooted.

When the computer starts up again, it shows a message he must run check disk, to stop it press any within 6 seconds.

Regardless of the keys on which I push it does not stop, it starts to check entire disk.

How can I stop it?

Why did you have to install a new hard drive?

If chkdsk runs automatically reboot there's a reason - Windows has detected the volume is 'dirty' or a chkdsk was scheduled to run by you on the next reboot.

It could take a very long time the chkdsk to run (several hours) depending on the size of the volume being checked, the amount of data on the volume, the speed of your system and what the chkdsk finds to do.

Interruption of the process won't keep it from running again the next time that you restart and can make things worse so it's best to wait outside and let it finish naturally.

When Windows starts, it checks the "dirty bit" on all volumes to see if a chkdsk with error correction should run and when a volume is dirty Windows will automatically run the command chkdsk with error correction.  The only way to disable the on a volume's dirty bit is to let a chkdsk with error correction for do you by running up to the end.

The dirty bit is adjustable on a volume of an aborted reboot, power failure, abnormal termination, interruption of power supply, using the reset or start button / stop, remove the battery.  One of these events?

You can query the dirty bit on a volume from the prompt with administrator privileges.

Click on the round starting and in the box type the following:

cmd

Right-click on cmd.exe and select run as Administrator:

To query the bit of impurity on the C drive, type the following in the command prompt window:

fsutil dirty query C:

Example of output should be one or the other of:

Volume c is dirty
Volume C is NOT dirty

You should check each of your volumes or each hard disks (C, D, E, etc.).

Type "exit" to close the command prompt window and communicate your results.

The volume is dirty or not?

Windows can also run a chkdsk on reboot if you have scheduled one that runs so if this is the case, you can remove that by entering the following command from your command prompt window which will remove all planned chkdsk on all vouma:

chkntfs /d

When I try to install it it comes up with an error about 16% in the installation, saying that there is a disk error when you write to the file C\:Program files (x 86) \microsoft games\dungeon siege\resources\objects.dsres

    Any ideas?

    Hi MouseToe,

What version of Dungeon Siege you trying to install?

The cause of this problem could be the corrupted resource (.dsres) file or disk error. Here are some things you can do to solve the problem.

Method 1: Run the disk check.

Check the integrity of your hard disk for lost clusters and errors.

To do this, follow the steps in this article: check a drive for errors

Method 2: Defragment the hard disk.

This improves the performance of your hard drive.

Reference: improve performance by defragmenting your hard drive

Method 3: Run the game as administrator.

    Here's how:

    (a) right click on the game configuration file.

    (b) choose 'Run as administrator'.

Method 4: Try to install the game in a different folder or to a different drive

Try to install the game in a different folder. If the computer has another hard disk, try to install the game on the other hard drive.

    Follow these steps.

    a. Insert the game disc in the drive.

Note: Do not click on Quick Installation during installation.

    b. follow the setting menus until you see the change button.

    c. click change.

    d. in the path box, delete the existing path, and then type the following text:

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

You should get the number of the update of the updated history list and then download the file here: Microsoft downloads.
If sure that nothing else is running, and then install the update manually.  Give it a try and let us know the results.

You met the C00D10D1 error message when you use Windows Media Player. The following information can help you resolve the problem.

    Codec is missing

Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or can't play the part of the file either audio or video) because theMP3 - codec MPEG Layer III (55) is not installed on your computer.

The missing codec may be available for download on the Internet. For more information about codecs, seeCodecs: frequently asked questions.

    Hello

    1. What is the file type or extension that you try to play?

If you get a message stating that your computer is missing a codec, you are probably trying to play, burn, or sync a file that was compressed by using a codec that does not include Windows or the default player. You will need to download codecs.
