CHKDSK runs automatically and checks my 2nd HARD drive and shows a lot of mistakes, 2nd HARD drive is gone.

Hi, I have 2 80 GB HDD (SATA - 1 + 2 - ATA). whenever I turn on my system (XP SP3) then chkdsk runs automatically
and checks my 2nd HARD drive and shows many errors like "replacement Windows a bad cluster in file:...". "like that.
and it takes a lot of time around 3 to 4 hours. He then shows the windows xp desktop,
but the problem is MY SECOND HARD drive IS NOT SHOWN in EXPLORER, IT IS GONE.
Can someone help me, I have my imp data on my 2nd HARD drive.
How do I return there without losing any data or file?

Hello

1. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?
2 - is an internal hard drive?

Step 1: Check if hard driver is getting detected in Device Manager and send back the same.

Reference:
By using Device Manager
http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/snap_dev_mgr.mspx?mfr=true

Step 2: Check if this disc is getting detected in disk management.

If the hard drive is getting detected in disk management and there is no drive letter assigned, and assign a drive letter and check.

Step 3: To disable chkdsk at startup, follow these steps:

a. Click Start, run and type regedit.
b.Navigate to the following subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

c. change the BootExecute entry: autocheck autochk *.
d. exit your registry database.
e. restart.

  • Try to run a 'error checking' and 'defragmentation' on my computer

    Hello

My computer was slow, so I would like to run a 'error checking' and 'Defragmentation '.

When I try to run the "error checking" I get the following message: "the disk check cannot be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files are accessible only by restarting windows. You want to schedule this disk check to occur the next time that you restart the computer? " I tried to restart Windows and check the disc again, but I still get the same message.

When I try to run a defrag, I get the following message: "Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chdsk is expected to run on the volume: HP_PAVILION (c)." Please run Chkdsk /f.' I've repeatedly said no to checkdisk start in the previous paragraph, but I always get these messages.

No information as to how I can solve this problem?

    Thank you!  Kara

Maybe you will need to follow the instructions more closely.  If your repeatedly said 'NO', how it's supposed to run checkdisk?

    1. Click to open the computer.

    2. Right click on the hard drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. Click on the Tools tab, and then under error checking, clickCheck now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, selectAutomatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix file system errors andScan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. Click Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

    Note

    • If you select automatically fix errors of system file of a disk that is used (for example, thepartition as containsWindows), you will be asked to reschedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

  • Windows xp Pro chkdsk keeps running over and over again at the start and...

Before this error occurring, we run a defragmentation and planned Windows to check the drive for errors.

Cannot start in safe mode as lists of lines of code system32, then freezes.

    Many Retarts have not helped.

We have not cahnged anything using F2 or F12 to change Boot & startup menus.

When XP restarts, it checks the "dirty bit" on each volume (hard disk) to see if a chkdsk needs to be run on the volumes.

The dirty bit can be defined on a volume if you had a power failure or may have used the power button, had an aborted restart or an abnormal termination.    The only way to clear the bit of impurity on a volume is successfully running chkdsk with error correction (chkdsk/r).

If you have a regular chkdsk in the meantime, he'll also want to run when you restart the system.

When you start in Safe Mode, if one of these conditions are met, XP run the chkdsk command, and during this time, your system will be appear to be stuck, frozen or appear to hang with the last thing on your screen being loading mup.sys - shortly after charges mup.sys is when the chkdsk will start running and the system seems to be stuck.

This suggests that their system is hung on mup.sys when he's really hung at all - chkdsk runs is because it takes or they old to many people is by planning the chkdsk at the next reboot.

I don't know what AVG load and will not install AVG to know.

If your system seems to stop mode without failure and the last thing you see on the screen is mup.sys (or in your case of the stuff AVG), look at the HARD drive access light.

If the HARD drive is flashing, chances are good that the chkdsk command runs either because it takes or it, you have planned.  In this case, you will need to wait outside and if you use the power button, you could make things worse.

You will need to wait outside and this could take some time depending on the size of the volume, the amount of data on the volume and what chkdsk finds to do.

I think that I start your system in the XP Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r from there, so that you can actually see race and what he has to say.  If that chkdsk /r works own (it might take more than one pass), which erases the volume dirty bit.  It will not relieve your a regular chkdsk system, but I would start there.

  • Open a Subvi and run automatically

    Hello everyone,

I ve a structure of the event in which a Subvi is called by server of VI. I Don t want the main VI to freeze I turned forward until it is turned off.

But the Subvi is called and in edit mode. How can I call the Subvi and run automatically?

    Kind regards

    Wilbur

    Hi Wilbur,

Good afternoon and I hope that your well today.

    Thanks for the post.

The VI property Exec.RunOnOpen is not necessary - if you are using Server VI, this property is ignored - and your using the method run a VI in any case.

I think that your problem is with the configuration of your reference open VI. If you set the entry to zero (0) options it works? It does for me. And if I said that admission to 8, it load in edit mode.

The problem that I believe is in the detail of the reference open Help content. When the reference is destroyed in the server called VI VI VI is shorter.

For example, I have a small delay between my RunVI (wait that fact - false) and the reference close VI. After the period of my called VI stops.

What results you want to achieve? You try to call a reentrant VI? If so, please take a look at the following example

Load and call several Copies of a Subvi using VI Server

Please let me know how found you this information.

  • Satellite 2410 603 run diskcheck and then turns off after startup

When I turn on my PC it runs a check disk and tells that the following file is not valid: windows/prefetch\matcli.exe-061DBA
After the disk check, it starts up to the main screen and then stops as if I had pushed the power switch.

Is there a way to solve this problem without the recovery running disk (and thus losing all my data)?

    Hi guy,

MATCLI. EXE is a component of AOL Broadband and is usually optional (i.e. it is not necessary to run Windows).

The PREFETCH folder is from which your laptop try to play the file. It is an area where Windows stores copies of files that are usually loaded during the start-up phase, so that they can be pre-loaded in the cache, which allows Windows to start up more quickly.

It is advisable to clear the contents of the PREFETCH folder on a basis regular (Microsoft recommends a monthly purge of prefetch contents), but you can just delete the folder PREFETCH itself since Windows will allocate a new start-up.

Since you can't actually start Windows to delete the PREFETCH content I suggest that you try to start your laptop in 'SAFE' mode, since this will only start with the minimum of Windows files. If this succeeds, then delete the PREFETCH folder before you try to start Windows normally again.

As a final thought, it might well be a corruption on your hard drive for some reason any and it would be a good idea to run a utility to check hard disk in order to assess the State of your hard drive (using CHKDSK from Windows or a third party utility such as Norton Disk Doctor).

    Kind regards

  • Dell 1520 my son is running xp and has decided to stop the boot...

How can I load a copy of this file on a disk and then start the computer with the disk in the drive and get it to the top and enough to do a restore of the system running.

I do not have the system restore disk.

It is extremely unlikely that there is anything wrong with the hal.dll file.

Even if you want to replace it, you should know which of the 7 possible hal.dlls on the XP installation CD you need.

I have never replaced a hal.dll file in my life for this problem.

Interpret the message means that XP just cannot find the file either because the NTFS file system got corrupted (maybe from a power outage) or the c:\boot.ini file tell XP to search for the file in the right place.

    Answer these common questions:

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

You can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and always start with a chkdsk/r running on your system (which may be just what you need to do).  If that's not straighten out, we can use the same CD bootable to recreate your c:\boot.ini file.

    Here's how to start:

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Alternatively, you could start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
