Choose scanner or scanner officejet Sprout

Sprout scan KO from win10 update. OfficeJet 6500 has more unusable scanner. Is it possible to choose?

Hey @SergeB1and welcome to the Forums of HP!

It seems that you have computer Sprout and want to still use your 6500 a scanner Officjeet. Software for your installed Officejet still? You can choose which method of scanning want it.

If you experience a problem using the Officejet, I suggest to use printing HP and doctor Scan.

HP printing and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly resolve problems printing, scanning and connectivity, including but not limited to:

  • Connectivity:

USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

  • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.
  • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.
  • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.
  • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.
  • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).
  • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.
  • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.
  • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.
  • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.
  • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.
  • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

Source: www.hp.com/go/tools < click here to download and run the print and Scan doctor.

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to find that the key and the box are both in a green circle.

  • If you see only the Green checkmarks, the tool has not found no problem.
  • If you see Green key, the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.
  • If you see yellow exclamation points, the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.
  • If you see a red X, follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

I'm trying to copy a document on my HP Officejet Pro 8600.  I placed the original face down on the scanner glass.  There is no original in the ADF.  Then, I pressed "Copy" and "launch in black."  the Offficejet then "think" the original is in the ADF file and try to copy a non-existent original.  The Officejet then generates a paper jam «»
in the ADF file' error message with instructions to clear paper jam and press 'OK' and spews a piece of paper from the paper tray. There is not an option for 'back '.  If I try to humor the Officejet by opening and closing the cover of the ADF and pressing 'OK', the Officeject generates a copy which is covered with black ink.  If I ask preview copy o, the document on the scanner glass is displayed.  I can adjust margins, etc.  When I select then 'copy' and 'Black start', the Officejet is trying to copy a nonexistent document in the ADF and generates the "Paper jam" message again.  Since there is not an option "go back", I turn the printer off, then turn it back on, and then try again.

  • Scanner (Officejet 7500) cannot find the computer when you use shortcuts scan to printer

When you choose Scan to PDF, e-mail, etc., by using the scanning on the 7500 buttons it allows me to select the computer on the network (each with all of the latest drivers and software loaded). However when about to the scanner and then says the computer is not found (whatever the) despite them being on and ready. Scanning by any other method of the Mac works. Automator shortcuts work very well during the tests, but they do not seem to get initiated by the scanner for scanning form of initiation of the printer itself.

Research on the support site HP and conclusion - a 'connection error' or "Computer no. detected" Error Message displays when trying to Scan from the printer control panel - as a subject gives PC solutions, but nothing for Mac. And so here I am. Help!

The next thing to check is that "HP Device Monitor" is running.  This background process is responsible for detecting the keys for scanning applications.  If you open the activity monitor (located in/Applications/Utilities) you should see this class as one of the running processes.

It may be generally preferable for you to perform an uninstall and reinstall the HP software.  You will find in Applications/Hewlett-Packard HP Uninstaller.  Use this utility to remove the old software.  I recommend that you download and install the latest version of the software for your 7500 here: http://tinyurl.com/4voly2d.

Does anyone know if there is HP Director, or other, available software that allows you to use the scanner on an OfficeJet G55 attached to a 64-bit Windows 7 system?

You can try to change the parameter indicating the feeder flat to see if you can change the DPI settings.

    Hi @kskhater,

It may be best to contact Apple to make sure everything is configured correctly and the necessary ports are open.

You can create a second admin account, is not on the privileges, it is to determine if there is a problem with your user profile. The question might have something to do with your printing system. I know that the issue is scanning, but the printing system, it's what the driver, and since we already have reset the printing system, Apple may need to reload, or the operating system. Create a second user account will help determine whether the problem is related to your account.

As you can see, at this point, we are at a stage of diagnosis, troubleshooting is the process of elimination. To identify the cause in order to solve the problem.

  • Welcome screen very long

    Hello

There is a problem with my laptop - HP ENVY 15-j001er: she starts off very long during the Welcome screen. And it can do not to start at all. I have to reload each time this happens. The laptop is new. I think that happens because of the slow HARD disk - only 5400 revolutions per second. Operating system is windows 8.1.

    What could be?

    Hello

Good to hear, can I also recommend downloading Malwarebytes on the net (its free) search Google Malwarebytes download and install the program. Open the software and display the top click on "Refresh" once the update is done choose scanner and do a full scan of your system. When the scan is complete click "View the scan results" and nothing found will be listed, and then place a check next to detected objects and click on remove, you must perform a reboot once invited to remove completely all threats...  If you use malwarebytes alongside your Norton Anti virus (regular tests), your system will be initiated. Don't forget to update Malwarebytes

    Hello

Thank you for your patience, I would like you to try a web analysis. The J6413 must be connected to a network, if the J6413 is not connected to a network:

    • Press Setup
    • Right arrow until the network and press OK
    • Right arrow until Wireless Setup Wizard and press OK
    • Follow the prompts to connect to the network.

    Or,

Connect an Ethernet cable to the back of the J4613 and the same network the computer is connected to.

Once connected to the network, print a Test report Wireless:

    • Press Setup
    • Right arrow until the network and press OK
    • Press OK to print the network settings
    • Right arrow until the Report of Wireless Test and press OK

Open a web browser on the computer and enter the IP address from the Wireless report of Test in the address bar. A page should load up for the J6413, select scan and see if you can save the image.

I would like to know if it works.

    Thank you

  • stuck on 16 per page

I changed my officejet 6600 to print 16 per page. It would print only a small per page in the upper left corner. Now I can't get back normal a 1 per page. Any ideas?

    Hi Ron,

Thanks much for the reply! Know the operating system that you have that will make it easier I'll list the steps below:

    1. click on the Start button and open devices and printers (if you see not devices and printers open Panel configuration, followed by devices and printers)

    2. once in devices and printers left click on your Officejet 6700 to highlight, then right-click on it and select Printing Preferences (and then you have to choose between the 6700 Officejet and Officejet 6700 FAX - please choose the non-FAX one)

    3. under print options in the tab layout, there is a section of Page Format that includes a fall to the bottom of Pages per sheet and you will set this to 1.

This should stop your print programs 16 sheets in 1 page. If it goes well, in the specific programme, press file, print, preferences and look for the same thing I listed under step 3 and see if you need to change there as well.

Hope this helps, have a great weekend Ron!

  • HP Officejet 6500 E710: How to create desktop icon to launch the Scanner dialog box?

I would like to create a desktop icon to launch the Scanner dialog box. I'm not a fan of the approach to Tile Windows.

Under Windows, 8.1, there was a desktop icon which allow me to connect to my Officejet 6500 unit and allow the scan to computer option. Who disappeared with the upgrade of Windows 10.

I ran the print and Scan doctor and it solved the problems. When I went to test scanning, it arises from the familiar dialog box where I could choose different settings.

It worked perfectly. But after having closed the doctor, I could not find any place to launch the new dialogue box, outside the doctor.

I downloaded and installed the scanning HP and Capture app. It works very well, but I rather not leaving office to launch it, or use it enough to justify the taskbar setting.

Is it possible to create a desktop icon for the application of scanning and Capture

    or

is there a way to create an icon to launch the dialog box scan that print and Scan Doctor uses?

    I prefer this one.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

Is there a way to create the shortcut to scan on your desktop. Try the following steps:

    1. open a file Explorer

    2 C: > Program Files (x 86)

    3 program Files (x 86) > HP

    4 HP > HP Officejet 6500

    5 HP Officejet 6500 > Bin

    6 bin > Scanner HP

    7. right click on the analysis of HP and "create shortcut".

You'll get a prompt that "Windows cannot create a shortcut here.  Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?    Select "Yes".

    Hope that helps!

  • HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless - bug Scanner driver - only on Windows 7 platform!

    Date:
    October 29, 2010, Roende, Denmark.

    TO:
    Hewlett-Packard
    Support / Department printer driver.

    From:
    Jesper Simonsen
    Denmark.

    Hello Hewlett-Packard

I have an error message you bringing on the
    HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless
Driver for Windows 7 printer platform.

This bug only exists on the Windows 7 platform
    and not on Windows XP.

I was hired to install the
    HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless yesterday.
I have installation, installed, set up the printer.
I configured the printer to run
    Wireless network with gateway router
SSID and WPA key and it went smoothly.
    I installed the printer for
    address fixed LAN IP 192.168.1.197
and I configured the gateway routers
DHCP pool to go until 192.168.1.195
for not to disclose the IP address of the printer.

On a new laptop Lenovo running Windows XP
running on the same wireless network that I installed
software of the printer from Windows XP/Vista driver disk provided.
It worked fine with functions of printer and scanner.
I could also press the Scan button the
the printer front panel and choose the laptop
and then the printer starts and automatically starts the scanner
software upward on the laptop. Thus, it works beautifully.

So I should install the printer on your desktop.
A new Lenovo desktop computer running Windows 7 32 bit.
This desktop computer also works on the same wireless network.
I installed the driver from the disk Windows 7driver to the address provided.
Installation may well see the printer on the wireless network.
I might send a print job to the printer.
    But it does not scan.

    I have tried both:

-To start a computer scan job.

The scanner respond briefly to run the scanner carriage
down on where it should begin to start to
to scan, then it stopped all communication.
He sits for a while and then finally there will be an error message
No communication to the scanner, which had the error code:

    4, [(2,7,80040007), (3,7,0)]

-J' also tried to press the "Scan" button
on the front panel on the printer and then go through
options that are displayed on the screen on the front printers.

It said on the screen before she had no scan options.
On the computer, it showed a message
We should update the list of LCD on the screen of the printer.

I did it with the help of the HP solution center text.
I found where I could update the scan job type options.
I could add/remove them. Then, I sent to the printer.
Analytical work was then on the display of fine printers.
The same error: Scanner carriage moves down to the other end
the scanner then stops all communications from there.

I tried to google the number of problem and error.
I found several other users with the same problem we had.
I could see a webpage that people could download
the latest printer driver, then it should resolve itself.

    The provided disks were
-Disk with drivers for Windows XP and Vista
-Disk with drivers for Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)

The drive for Windows 7 has been driver version 13.0.0
and I could download the driver 140.0 version (English)
    (I guess that's v.14.0)

So I downloaded this driver package.
    (I downloaded it 28 October 2010)

First of all, I uninstalled all THE HP drivers and software on Windows 7
and then did a reboot of Windows 7.

Then I started to install the new version 14 of the pilot.
    The installation went without problems.
But this driver has the same BUG than the previous driver.

I went to the new driver HP Web site
and downloaded all the updates that were available and
installed to them all and still no luck with the problem of scanning.

I had Windows Firewall turned off completely all the time.
It is therefore not the firewall blocking anything.
The connection to the printer is good because print jobs worked well all the time.

Then I would try to connect the printer with USB cable
the computer fixed Lenovo, to see if there was a difference.
I have re-set up the printer so that I got the printer available
    by USB connection.
It prints very well and can scan fine if
I put the computer starting a scan job.

But if I pressed the "Scan" button on the front panel
then came the SAME error as before.
When in the list of type of scan on the front panel of the printer
has been chosen and then began the cariage scanners
towards the other end of the scanner.
Then he started by the scanner to the computer software
Then, when we pressed either the scanning/Scan now on the front panel
on the printer OR we pressed the scan button to start the scanner software
on the computer. Then the scanner stopped after awhile and communication
then the error message appears again.

The wireless network is running a
D - Link router with wireless access point.
SSID: alsikkevej10 (not hidden, no special characters)
    Encryption: WPA - PSK (WPA1-PSK/TKIP)
Shared key: xxxxxxxx (with no special characters)

    CONCLUSION:
This means that the error (bug) persists in HP
Driver software the feature scanner for Windows 7 platform.

When I tested it, I had the Windows Firewall turns off completely.
It's had that nothing blocked in this way.
Wireless worked well because we could always print.

    The Lenovo laptop could always
printing AND scanning over the wireless connection

Both analyze the types of employment has worked on the laptop:
-A started from the "Scan" button on the front panel of the printer.
-Started from the scanner on laptop computer software.

So scan works fine on Windows XP but NOT on Windows 7 platform.

I would like to hear from you when you have solved the problem,
so that we can it works as it should do.

HP, please respond to an e-mail.

    Sincerely,
    Graphics & new media designer

    Jesper Simonsen

I talked to technical support. I mentioned a level 2 technician. He told me that most of these problems is caused by a bad operating system and reinstalling it would do. I got back up, restore the operating system, restore the data and reinstall all my programs, but he was right about the problem to solve. Seems a lot of work to get the scanner to work, but my computer is slow and refreshing it anyway. Moreover, the level 2 technician also said that they would recommend to reinstall the OS every 6 months. Not so sure I want to spend hours 4 or more on this process, but my computer works certainly better!

  • Cannot find Scanner Actions tab HP OfficeJet 8600 more software selection

I recently bought the HP OfficeJet 8600.  I am running Windows 7.  I try to add folder selections to the printer for analysis at the folder option, and I want to configure the scan to E-mail option.  I was able to add a folder, but now I can't find the stock selection to scan in the menu when I run the printing software.  I don't see the following selections.

    Hello

Uninstall the software in the Start Menu folder.

Then download and install the latest version of the software below:

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 vertical black lines printing when you use the scanner/copier of SMA

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus model N911g that I got a year out of warranty. Worked perfectly until this week when I scanned approximately 50 pages through the ADM.  During the process of digitisation of the black vertical lines began to appear on documents that are scanned or print (color or BW) through the ADM.  Scanning or printing directly from the scanner glass is not the problem.

I checked, cleaned and cleaned all (rolls, strip scanning, scanning glass) it is possible via the information provide in these forums from other veins knows on their production lines.  No change...

I unplugged the printer all the network and fax cables and tried scanning or copying with the power of the device, NO CHANGE.  Don't know what the next step might be other than the factory reset (don't have documentation on this process).  Additional suggestions would be appreciated.

  • OfficeJet 7500 a: inaccessible Scanner

My HP printer/scanner/copier Officejet 7500 a can not be detected by my Windows 7 desktop PC - but ONLY the scanner.

Message that displayed when I try to scan:

    [Inaccessible scanner

[Scanner communication cannot be established. If make sure that your product is powered, check the connection and make sure that your network is working properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try to scan the image.
If you have installed this printer by IP address, you may need to update the IP address. Use the IP address update for this printer start menu entry.
If you are running a software firewall, it can block scan communication. Please visit www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting for help to configure your firewall.]

I do NOT use wireless scanning. I have NOT installed the printer/scanner by IP address. The printer/scanner is connected directly to my PC via a USB cable.

Copy works fine; printing most of the time but sometimes the PC sends a print job that prints ever (and no error message). I have to unplug the power cord and plug it in again, which resets the printer and then the job will print if I return it. (I leave the printer on all the time so I don't have to turn on my PC, if all I need is the copier function).

I do not use the scanner very often, but I have had this printer for 4 years, and the scanner has always worked in the past.

When I got the Windows message "Inaccessible Scanner", I tried to unplug the power cord and in reconnecting it back, but the scanner was still "inaccessible". I also tried unplugging the USB cable and plug again, but still not to scan. I also tried to plug the USB cable into a different USB port on my PC, but not scan. I tried to reinstall the scanner, but Windows does not display the scanner as a device.

Is there anything else I can try to solve the problem of 'inaccessible Scanner?

Thanks a lot for your help!
