• Equium M50-163: is it Bluetooth or not?

  I have a Toshiba Equium M50-163, it is running windows XP service pack 2. Unfortunately it is said that I have the Bluetooth but when I open the module Bluetooth and Toshiba bluetooth programs, they say "device is not ready" what I'm doing.   The laptop support certainly two memory slots and the two slots are extensible.
  From my own experience it possible s the second slot is hidden under the first memory module. If you could see the other location if the first module of memory would be removed.

  I wanted to add more memory, so, on the recommendation of the Toshiba Product Support page, I bought the Toshiba PA3411S-2M1G memory (from eBuyer) module.

  Trying to mount the module of memory in my machine, I found that it is not! 'Separator' plastic between the two contacts on the laptop computer does not match the position of the notch between the two sets of pins on the memory module.

  Tosh recommends part number: PA3411S - 2M1G 1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2-4300 (533 MHz) DDR2

  The memory that's happened has PA3411S-2M1G 1024 MB (1 GB) PC2-4200 (533 MHz) DDR2 memory on the box.

  Someone in the forums said that PC2700 PA3313U-2M1G is the part number.

  The manual supplied with the M50 means memory PC2700 .

  Anyone know the number, or an alternative appropriate by another manufacturer?

• Equium M50-163 has sound-> ongoing echo problems

  As the title says, my Toshiba laptop has some problems with the sound. For almost a good 7 months now (I think that I got used to the sound, I hear an echo ' ') my laptop sound, that it either music or speaking in a film, has a permanent 'echo' (as if the sound was the mode of the room).
  There is also little or no bass. I tried to adjust the sound settings, but nothing helped, and it isn't the laptop speakers because the sound is the same with external speakers connected to my laptop.

  You have this echo effect only to watch movies or have you noticed that play games or streaming a video from the internet?

  From my experience of that many different 3rd party applications supported additional sound effects. These settings might be responsible for you echo.

  I also remember that the M50 series supports the virtual sound software. This small program changes the sound effects too.

  Select this check box. You should find it in the folder utilities Toshiba.
  As far as I know, you can change the settings of the sound from the built-in speakers, headphones and external speakers

• Replacing the drive HARD on Equium M50-216

  I'm looking into upgrading the hard drive in my M50-216, which currently has a MK4026GAX. The player that I am most interested is the MK8032GAX. Is this a suitable replacement, that is going to work?

  A few questions:

  1. I guess it's just a case of withdrawal of the current drive, mortising the new one and start using my Toshiba restore CD? This will reinstall the Norton junk as well?

  2. assuming I have remove the current without shape, i.e. I leave it as it is, I suppose that if I find the new drive does not work I'll be able to put the former back in and it will start like nothing happened? I'm not changing any other material.

• Failed to start after installing the new memory module Equium A60

  I have an Equium A60 laptop with the following specs:

  256 MB Ram (including 64 MB ATI graphics card)
  30 GB HD
  Windows XP Home Edition

  The problem is the following; I bought a bar of memory in order to update my system. I bought a Kingston SO-dimm pc2100 512 MB. After installation of the memory of the laptop wouldn't start, after about 5 seconds after having turned it on, it turns off completely.

  If I remove the memory it starts up fine. I had tested memory and its ok so there seems to be a problem with the laptop itself. I'm confused, so if anyone has an idea of what might cause boot failure, I would be happy to know.

  As far as I know the main reason for the failure of start is the use of non compatible modules.

• POS 6.1 can choose the correct time zone please?

  IM at the stage of configuration VDP now (...:8543/vdp-configure) and I can't find the good zone time (I need UTC + 7). I use usually Asia/Krasnoyarsk tz, there are a lot of UTC + 7 areas here invalid time zone values and in the SLES itself BUT without these areas at the POS configure the web interface. Can someone tell me why? May be I can complete the configuration with wrong time zone and change later recreating the link/etc/localtime or in the console vm POS? Or should I choose correct time zone during the initial Setup?

  OK, I got a solution. Initial configuration of POS has been completed with the incorrect time zone. Then I changed timzone in the vm console VDP (define-> Asia-> Russia-> Krasnoyarsk time zone), but the bad timzone was still in the POS-configure page. However after the restart of the POS POS-configure vm page indicates the correct time zone (Asia/Krasnoyarsk). Unfortunately, I still can not choose this area to POS - configure-> time zone.

  My laptop comes with a memory chip Samsung 1 G standard and I recently added a 2 G kingston DDR-667 to the other location. Vista recongnizes the total memory than the 3G system. My question is if this laptop supports 4G memory if I just use 2 2 G Samsung chips?

  Another weird thing is that as soon as I added this new chip, Everrest indicates that dual channel has been opened! Samsung 1 G and 2 G Kingston? How these two different chips can open the channel double?

  The usuer mannual says that the memory maximum expansionbility for this laptop is 2 G.

  Any explanation?

  Hello everyone, its been a long time that I installed Photoshop and do not remember the appropriate parameters for the work in Photoshop CS6.  I had a problem with my computer and had to reinstall and now my mind is a blank. I tried browsing here and on the net and came up with a large number of ions of conflict.  I know I have to use Adobe 1998, but alternatives escape me. I do know that if I should change the gray space, I was told to use gray gamma 2.2. I don't know if I should Desaturate monitor 20% etc.

  What conversion options? What should those be?  And what about the advanced controls and what must be those defined for better photographic needs.

  Judging by your screenshot I guess you run Photoshop on a PC and I hesitate to make any recommendation beyond the ones I listed. I think that. other than the installer, I suggested, all of the default settings are a safe bet.

• Need help to choose the correct setting in the virtual network Editor

  This is my first time using machines virtual period. What I do is implementing a laboratory MCSE to follow certain CBT courses, I bought. I created a team of three virtual machines - two of them that are running WIndows Server 2003 and the other WIndows XP. The lab wants to use the following TCP/IP parameters for the three machines (Server1, Server11 and XP1)

  Server1:

  192.168 1,201

  255.255.255.0

  192.168.1.254

  11 server: 192.168.1.211 (same gateway and subnet as Server1)

  XP1: 192.168.1.1 (ditto for the door and the subnet as Server1)

  Primary DNS is set to 192.168.1.201 (Server1 is DNS server).

  Default VMWorkstation allowed me to ping both servers very well without any additional configuration. My problem is when I try to fix the DNS redirector on Server1. Any DNS server IP address that I plug in I could not get my XP box to get out of the Internet. I know it's a problem with my virtual network settings, I'm sure. Problem is I don't know where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  General things:

  You cannot use the IP address ranges which are used somewhere else, and that the host might be able to see.

  Type ' ipconfig/all' on the host and the glance to the adapter VMnet8. Suppose you see a 192.168.30.1 there. This means that your network VMnet8 address is 192.168.30.0/24 (24 =, displayed subnet mask as 255.255.255.0).

  Your DNS and gateway for virtual systems would be 192.168.30.2.

  You can check this in the editor of virtual network on the NAT tab.

  To change the range of network addresses VMnet8 you must use the virtual network Editor.

  1. go on 'host Virtual Network Mapping.

  2. click on the ">" beside VMnet8 and choose "subnet".

  3. change address you need. It's the network address, so the last digit (in your case!) should be 0. The address range should not be used elsewhere (physical network, VMnet1).

  4. click on 'apply '.

  5. When you click on the ">" again and choose DHCP or NAT you can see that all addresses have been changed accordingly.

  When you enter ' ipconfig/all' to the host, you will see that the VMnet8 host adapter has an IP address of your selected range with 1 node address (e.g. 192.168.1.1).

  The gateway and the DNS so its node address + 1 (192.168.1.2).

  I had difficulty pinning down the specification of an upgrade memory to 2 GB for my Aspire One D270-1401.  Can someone help me decide between PC3-12800 and PC3-8500.  It doesn't seem to be any help available for this model on the Acer site.

  The model has locations of memory that one alone and it supports DDR3 PC3-12800 unbuffered NON - ECC 1.35v.

  OK, so you will need a cable for connection of the following characteristics:

  1. -You choose if you want a pre-made 10 meters or you can get them to customize the length (will cost more, of course).
  2. Closing end types - LC to LC (duplex);
  3. Fiber optic multimode;
  4. OM4 - you can use OM3 if you want, but I prefer to use OM4.  Don't you dare try OM1 OM2.
  5. -Your choice.  Normally, OM4 is aqua, but you can choose any color you want (can cost more).  DO NOT USE YELLOW because it means another type of cable (single mode).  You do not want to make your fiber optics wiring confusing for everyone.

  NOTE: If someone wants to sell you a "corner cut" multimode fiber, they must be taken out and shot.

  Check the bottom of the unit. If the unit has a Bluetooth device, so you should find the label with information from Bluetooth.
