  • How to change the icon of the Application on Blackberry JDE 6

Hi, do someone know how to change the icon of the application of the project, we have created in the JDE? I searched the forum, and suggestions should go to the project properties, go to the "resources" tab and add the icon file. I have also included the file icon (PNG 68x68pixel) to the project.
But this does not seem to work for me.
I also tried to build clean, remove files jad and others, always not when I tried the app Simulator or on real device. Any help will be appreciated.
I use Blackberry JDE 6, test the application on the actual device (9800), Simulator (9700). And the app that I'm testing is just a pushscreen simple helloWorld app, not a lot of code here. Thank you.

Here's how to put the icon in BlackBerry JDE.

    1. Add the image to your project.
    2. Right-click on the image and choose Properties.
    3. Check "use as icon for the Application.
    4. Rebuild the application.
  • Differences between the version of BlackBerry Device Software and platform. Help, please...

    Hi guys!

    I'm really confused... Help, please!

We have developed applications for our customers. We tested with our BB8700 and it works fine.

We used JDE4.2 for development... and we think that it will work on v4.2 based handsets.

But our customers wrote that it works on v3.7. Why? Is this possible?

I looked at the information about my 8700 device and then noticed: v4.2.1.107 (platform v2.3.0.84)

-What are the differences between the version of BlackBerry Device Software and platform?

Possible customers spoke of version 3.7 of the platform?

There is a list of the devices, where we can find the version of BlackBerry Device Software by BlackBerry device model?

Or where we can find information about the models of devices that will support our application?

    Thanks in advance!

AFAIK there is no version 3.7 platform.

Customer talking about the OS version.

So, if they have the device OS version 3.7 you must use JDE JDE 3.6, 3.7 or older.

Or take updated device OS if the necessary software is available.

  • What strategies companies follow when choosing a Smartphone in BlackBerry JDE?

What strategies companies follow when choosing a Smartphone in BlackBerry JDE?

I guess, since you are in a Java forum, that you plan to Java development.  There are a number of other options.  But looking at Java:

You are concenred about what level of JDE?  Look here:

    http://com-BlackBerry-us-5p.WWWA.com/developers/choosingtargetos.jsp

Or choice JDE or Eclipse?  If so choose Eclipse.

If I have not answered your question, can you be more specific?

  • Is it possible to load the specific libraries about the version of BlackBerry model (NOT the software)?

    Hello world

I know it's possible to load specific libraries about the version of the BlackBerry host software (using files .alx and .jad files), but it is also possible to do the same thing about the version of BlackBerry model?

I know you can find something with download OTA by designing a specific download servlet that will check the version of the device model (using the HTTP for ie user agent) but how could you do the same thing with the files .alx file? Is it still possible?

In regards to as you can only check the device software version, but you can't do it with the version of the device model... Is there a workaround here?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I recalled an old article that I came across a couple of months:

  • Choose the version of the IDE and App registration problem

    Hola,

I use JDE - 4.5.0.7 to develop an application targeting suite device simulators,.

    I have a few questions,
1 taking into account the compatibility of the applications before blackberry Platform [ref.this], is my choice for a decent IDE?
    2. If the answer is Yes, then but is not the 4.5.0.7 version (JDE) is lower than the 4.5.0.55 version (device)? or we can ignore the minor version (4 digits in the version)?
    3. I have written a simple test application and try to run it on, Curve 8310 Simulator, but it is not listed under Options-> Ad.Option-> the list of Applications? I checked,
    -It is app CLDC
-Module system and autorun feature is disabled

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not choose the names on BlackBerry Curve

Not quite the topic here, but my Curve 9360 has lost the ability to choose the names when I try to dial a phone number with a name. A single it'll do is upwards of the ione page.  I can scroll down and find it, but that may take some time. It allows to start suggesting as soon as I typed John or something else, so I onbviously it has messed up somewhere!  Help.

MOD EDIT: Subject changed to reflect a new topic

    Hello!

Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.

See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Good luck!

Open it and you see these instructions:

Disable Java Quick Starter: (start) > settings > Control Panel > Java, the Java Control Panel will open, click on Advanced tab, expand Miscellaneous, uncheck 'Java Quick Starter', exit Firefox, restart Firefox. If I remember correctly, you must perform it whenever you update Java.
