Chromebook with Netgear VPN?
Has anyone tried to get their Chromebook with VPN access with a UTM appliance? I have a UTM50. My boss asked if I would like a Chromebook to use for purposes of work when I'm off site and although the Chromebook is relatively cheap, I'd rather check that it works before we buy.
I know that Chrome does support VPN Setup VPN Chrome [Google Support]
Nobody I know.
I would take any supported VPN that Google has said that it has with a grain of salt.

Remote Access Auto Connection Manager and error with a VPN work
I use my laptop to connect to my VPN working. It has not worked since June 24, 2010. I get a message indicating that the connection to network access device is not found. I also have a problem with the connection manager automatic remote access. I'm trying to launch and get an error code 5, unauthorized. The Auto Connection Manager remote access has something to do with the vpn access problem and if so how can I solve this problem?
Hello hitherandthee,
Your question of Windows Vista is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the platform of networking on TechNet. Following your question thanks for posting the link below:

Is it possible to create a VPN Anyconnect of RA with just the name of user and password + pre-shared key (Group) for the connection, as could do for ikev1 with cisco VPN client? Many small businesses do not want to invest in the PKI. It is usually a pain to deploy, backup, make redundant, etc..
But it would be nice to have a bit more security on VPN other than just the connections of username and password.
If this is not possible, it is possible to configure the Anyconnect customer to IKEv1 with PSK and name at the level of the Group client?
If this is not possible, WTH did cisco end customer VPN cisco as a choice of VPN connection (other than to get more fresh mail of license)?
I really hope that something like this exists still!

WR
You are welcome
In addition to two factors, you can also do double authentication (ie the two using the user name and password). Each set of credentials can come from a Bank of different identities.
With this scheme, you can can configure a local user name (common) with password on the SAA (think of it as your analog PSK) and the other be the AD user identification information.

Problem with IPSec VPN ISA500 &; login questions (multiple devices)
I have a Cisco ISA500, we use for connection with IPSEC VPN of some products apple (MacBook Pro and iPad). We can operate randomly once in a while, but it fails most of the time of negotiation. Someone at - it suggestions on what I can do to make this work?
I did test it on my Linux machine and it does not when I had configured default settings. I had to change the NAT Traversal for UDP CISCO on the Linux machine for the connection to work.

Problem with Tunnel VPN L2L between 2 ASA´s
Hi guys,.
I have some problems with my VPN Site to site tunnel between 2 ASA (5520/5505).
I watched a lot of videos on youtube, but I can't find out why the tunnel does not...
Both devices can ping eachothers WAN IP address (outside interfaces), but I don't see any traffic between the 2 sites. It seems that the tunnel is not open to everyone. When i PING from the local to the Remote LAN (which should be an interesting traffic for the tunnel...), the its IKEv1 remains empty...
Am I missing something? I can't understand it more why same phase 1 is not engaged.
You NAT won't. In your config file traffic is NATted initially and then does not match any more crypto ACL. You must move the rule dynamic NAT/PAT until the end of the table on two ASAs NAT:
no nat (INSIDE,OUTSIDE) source dynamic any interface nat (INSIDE,OUTSIDE) after-auto source dynamic any interface

Hello
I ve creates a VLAN on the pix.
In this VLAN, users are allowed to connect only to the Internet. Everything is fine, but when trying to connect with his VPN Client to their company, it has problems... (Outside traffic flow, but no traffic came back.)
Is the only solution for this problem to create a Pool of Nat with public ip addresses, one to one mapping, or is there another solution with a public IP address (NAT on PAT) possible for this problem?
Thanks for your replies.
D.
The problem is that the esp is an IP Protocol, so PAT will not work in this scenario. When the return traffic returns to pix he doesn't know how to get to the inside host. The only way to do this is by adding a static nat (1 to 1 mapping) and create a rule to allow esp. Is what type of vpn client? Microsoft vpn? Cisco vpn? If cisco VPN, perhaps, they can use NAT - T on the vpn that overcomes the question PAT by encapsulating ipsec within UDP packets. You need to talk to the admin VPN and itself it allow.

Firefox Add - ons in any way interfere with a VPN?
I recently ordered a VPN. Itgood, but has its ups and downs. I asked the same question people VPN Firefox Add-ons. They said that he "may" impede the VPN. Laughing out loud. Nothing says confidence like the word 'power '! It doesn't seem to work perfectly. Here's what I think in very basic terms. The VPN uses encrypted tunnel of . Do Add-ons in fact drag these companies, they block, in the tunnel with the Firefox browser I use? Because the Add-ons are still show the number of companies they are blocked even if I'm in an encrypted tunnel . He looks like the tunnel needs block all businesses before that add-ons a chance to see them. And I have to start all VPN, tunnel, process on my desk before even entering the browser. I know I could start the browser with Add-ons disabled. I don't know if somehow they could work even n or if they work against each other. With or without the Add - ons Firefox remains my main browser! You guys and girls are great! Keep up the good work! Nice day.
Firefox sends the exact same claims, but now, they go through the tunnel.
Don't think that the VPN as a filter, think of it as a carrier.
Instead of thinking of Web sites of your web requests from your home through your internet service provider, websites they will perceive as coming from the location of your VPN service using their internet service provider. If you visit sites that try to guess your location, you should see that they are now guess somewhere completely different. (If the sites stored cookies with your old location, then you probably still will see that.)
With this in mind, it is logical that websites always pull in all the same ads and other things. To prevent that from happening, you will still need the modules.
As to whether they will all work together perfectly, I don't know. Each user creates a unique mix, so there is probably no one in the world who can test it better that you can.

Can I use Satellite R630 with Netgear and Intel wireless display technology
Dear all,
I am a user of a Satellite R630-105 (processor i3 M350). I would use this laptop with Wi - Fi on my plasma on the wall display. Recently, I heard about Intel wireless display technology connected to the Netgear adapter as a possibility for wireless connection to the screen.
Can I use my computer with this technology? If so, what is the process? If not, is there an alternative, using cable is very inconvenient. I'm at the beginner level.
Thank you very much, to come.
Peter
> I would like to use this laptop with Wi - Fi on my plasma on the wall display.
Can you please me for what purpose you need this connection?
I mean what kind of data you want to transfer?
With other words you do exactly? -
router Linksys with netgear with comcast
We have problems with our wireless network that we have more than 5 Mac devices on our network. Comcast proposed to attach a Linksys router at our comcast netgear existing router to add 5 ip addresses more to our mixture. Is there a model that would be better for this configuration? Thank you!
You don't need another router. One you have will work fine. However, you will need to go the Netgear forum for assistance. Your Cable Guy doesn't know what he's talking about. If you really have an IP address conflict, you will need to find it. To help, make sure that all devices are set to DHCP and do not have a static IP address. I'm assuming that the router is a router 4 ports.

Laptop wireless with NETGEAR router Home Windows Vista detects on the local network and internet
We have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L505-S6946 with Windows Vista on it. We bought a router Netgear Wireless G WGR614V10 a few months ago and installed ok. It worked fine for a few months. Now the network connection to the bottom rhs shows tray icon: 'Local only' for the connection of the SSID, we have implemented. Technical support Netgear has determined that the router works fine. But they noted that the router might get a static IP address in his settings of the adapter wireless Vista. And they said that something should be changed in Vista to a direct connection with the modem works fine for internet access, but it's bulky. Someone please do you suggest to fix this error? Thank you!!!
Hello
A message in the small window that says connected wireless does not mean that you really have a valid functional connection.
Linking the means of router you can enter the IP base of the router in an address bar in one go, being able to connect, see and configure the router menus (extended to the wireless router manual should explain how to do).
If it will not connect to your wireless router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.
Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.
----------------------------
The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.
Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).
----------------
Firewall software can block traffic Local to the network that you are trying to use because it is not set to the network Zone Trust.
Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.
Some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible set up the firewall correctly, otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.
If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .
party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.
---------------------------
Stack TCP/IP (network IP number) of work should look like.
Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.
http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg
Description is the data of the card making.
The physical address is MAC of the card number.
The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).
YY should be between 0 and 255
ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)
The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.
* Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.
* Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

VPN site to Site with restrictions (vpn-filter)
VPN site to site, I installed and it works fine and two site can meet but I question after the vpn enforcement - run under Group Policy
restrict users in the local site for dial-up networking with specific tcp ports, the vpn does not not like after order question «sh l2l vpn-sessiondb»
This works but users can't access something in the remote site
Note > after rising online in ACL at the end with this
US_SITE ip access list allow a whole
new to works well again
example of a line of Access-List
US_SITE list extended access permit tcp host 10.68.22.50 host 192.168.10.23 HTTP_HTTPS object-group
US_SITE list extended access permit tcp host 10.68.22.50 host 192.168.10.24 HTTP_HTTPS object-grouplocal network: 10.68.22.50
remote network: 192.168.10.24
is that correct or not?
attributes of the strategy group x.x.x.x
value of VPN-filer US_SITEtunnel-group General y.y.y.y
x.x.x.x by default-group-policyNote: allowed sysopt active vpn connection
The syntax on ACL that is used as a vpn-filter is different from what is normally expected. These VPN filters is not a direction, it should be noted the traffic we want to allow incoming and outgoing of the VPN in an ACL. The syntax for this is:
access-list X permit/deny REMOTE-DEFINITION LOCAL-DEFINITION
Example: You want to allow local users to access the RDP on the remote site:
access-list VPN-ACL permit tcp host 192.168.10.24 eq 3389 10.68.22.0 255.255.255.0
Disadvantage: This is all really confusing, and you can't afford things like Ping in one direction. -

RSA token with Cisco VPN clients
I am currently using the 3.6 Cisco VPN client that connects to a 6.3 (4) version Pix. I want to migrate to token SecurID from RSA to RADIUS authentication. Is this possible with these versions of the software? I could not find information on the client to support the SecureID.
Roland,
Yes, it is possible.
Please see the below URL for more information:
http://rsasecurity.agora.com/rsasecured/guides/imp_pdfs/Cisco_PIX_702_AuthMan61.PDF
Let me know if it helps.
Kind regards
Arul

Need help with native VPN client for Mac to the Configuration of the VPN router RV082
Guys,
I am trying to set up router RV082 VPN Client with native Mac for my remote access. However, no matter what I did, I'm not able to make works. Can any give me an example of how to set my router RV082 and Mac Book Pro (Mountain Lion)?
Thank you
Hi Jixian, the native client MAC does not work. The IPSEC VPN client is the same as the 5.x Cisco VPN client is not supported on this device.
Your alternatives are to use PPTP or a 3rd party IPsec client such as ipsecuritas.
