  • How do I save a tech 'show' and a 'running config"of MDS switches

    Hi, guys

I am a newbie of DMS switches.

but I had a request this week asking me to actively save a tech 'show' and a 'running config"MDS switch...

    so my questions are:

    (1) if I want to save the configurations of MDS, including commnds should I launch? or simply 'see the tech' enough?

    (2) is that the MDS itself have the Save function? for example, you can ftp configuration somewhere?

Please help point me in the right direction or y at - it of the official referece docs that I can refer?

    Thanks in advance!

    (1) the configuration of MDS backup that you want to run this command:

    copy running-config

and then, you have several options where you can send in for example you could tftp it

    copy the running-config tftp://yourftpserver/mdsbackup.txt

    (2) I don't think there is a native solution that performs scheduled backups, but that is easy to write a small bash/perl script.

  • Problem with VLAN between Cisco Catalyst (3560G) and SG300-52

I am having trouble with the creation of a trunk of vlan between a SG300-52 and a Cisco Catalyst 3560 G.  I have 4 VLANS (1, 2, 10 and 11) on the 3650 and I need ports on the SG300 to be able to communicate with them.

On the 3560, port 14 is defined as:

    interface GigabitEthernet0/14

    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

    switchport mode trunk

    spanning tree portfast

On the Sg300 port 52 is defined as:

    interface GigabitEthernet52

point to point link type spanningtree

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 1,2,10,11

    description macro switch

Try to understand what the problem... Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Chris

Hi Chris, the first problem is the spanning tree portfast, it shouldn't be on an interconnection network switch. You may have a mismatch of vlan native as well, but that shouldn't matter.

A suggestion, however, the value of the port SG300 general mode and disable the input filter.

  • Help, please! I get an error message that access is denied 0x80070005 when I try to run the backup facility.

I use Windows Vista as administrator and use the automatic installation of Windows to save everyday on an external hard drive - this has been fine for months and nothing has changed, but now I get the error message and can save is no longer. I tried to disconnect the external hard drive and reinsert and the drive is recognized. Back up to start running for awhile and then fails. Can anyone help please?

    Hello

Using third-party backup program or windows backup?

    Method 1
    Step 1:
I would suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and then run the backup files.

Start your computer in safe mode
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: If you are able to run backup ins fine safe mode, and then perform the clean boot and remove the program that is causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Follow step 7 clean boot KB929135 article to reset the computer in normal mode.

    Method 2
I suggest you run virus scan online by using the Microsoft safety scanner.

    Microsoft safety scanner
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: when you do an antivirus online, you will lose data that are affected by the virus. Microsoft is not responsible for the loss of this data.

    Method 3
Under your administrator account, get full rights and take possession of all the C:\ drive using the following procedures.
To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users). • Cisco Catalyst 4503-> Cisco 3560 L3-> Cisco 2960 L2-> Cisco SMB switch

    Hi Experts,

I am trying to add a Cisco SMB SF300 - 24 Switch to an infrastructure that has only the Cisco Catalyst switches

The base layer is Cisco Cataylst 4503. Distribution is Cisco Catalyst 3560 and Cisco 2960 switches access layer.

There are about 30 VLAN present in the infrastructure that is announced to all switches using VTP. Inter VLAN routing takes place at basic switches

by creating the Interface VLAN for each VLAN of L2.

    1. the new 150 VLAN must be created on the new Cisco SMB switch. If I create a corresponding interface 150 VLAN on core switches, it will forward the other VLANs traffic just as he is currently working for Cisco 2960 Catayst switches?

    2. While they inspected, I could see that the DERIVATIVE is not supported on the Cisco SMB switches and I would need to go GVRP if I need to make advertising information to other switches VLAN. But since GVRP is only supported on CatOS and there is no inter operability between GVRP and DERIVED, I would need to manually create the VLAN on the new switch. Is this correct?

    Help, please!

    Thank you very much

    Good afternoon Anup Sasikumar

    Please use our forum

My name is Johnnatan I am part of the community of support to small businesses, I saw your post and I understand that you want to configure VTP and GVRP.

I'm afraid you will have to configure it manually each Vlan in each device CatOS GVRP, in order to keep their databases vlan in sync. As you say, VTP is support it not in CatOS

You can try to connect the two protocols, but I encourage you do not follow this procedure.

On your question about intervlan routing, if you create a corresponding interface 150 VLANS on switches to base it is routed, if your configuration is correct (port access, ports of junction, intervlan etc..)

I hope that you will find this answer useful, if it was satisfactory to you, please indicate the question as answer.

    Please evaluate the useful messages.

Have you run wireshark on the server because the request to switch? If so you make sure that there is a response from the server? For Windows network POLICY Server (I've never tried Centos), you must ensure that the request is related to a policy which then authenticates, or denies access. Usually, it is a matter of such attributes and the seller.

Regarding the configuration, it seems a bit out of the AAA. Try to remove the:

line "aaa dot1x group service radius authentication" and this by using instead:

"aaa dot1x default radius authentication group". After the dot1x word you are supposed to provide a list of the authentication or the default Word if you do not want to use a list.

  • Replacement Module supervisor in Cisco Catalyst 6500 VSS 1440

    Hello forum Cisco team!

I am trying to replace a defective supervisor (Sup720 VS 10 G) on a pair of Catalyst 6509 VSS. I received the RMA and the document Replace Module, supervisor of the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Virtual Switching System 1440 (the document is attached) with the procedure. After going through the steps, I have a few questions during the installation of the new supervisor:

    1. do all links (including the VSL) must be connected before feeding the new supervisor? It comes from before that image and the boot config is copied to the new supervisor.

    2. once the startup config and the image is copied from the active VSS switch in the new supervisor, the document said to check orders for priority switch in the copied startup config form the active VSS, but the priority of each switch is not stored in the startup configuration as far as I know. Can you please clarify this?

My goal is to add the new supervisor engine without disrupting the current active VSS switch.

Thank you in advanced for your support!

    Hey,.

    With regard to your questions:

    1. do all links (including the VSL) must be connected before feeding the new supervisor? It comes from before that image and the boot config is copied to the new supervisor. - Yes

    2. once the startup config and the image is copied from the active VSS switch in the new supervisor, the document said to check orders for priority switch in the copied startup config form the active VSS, but the priority of each switch is not stored in the startup configuration as far as I know. Can you please clarify this? - Once you convert the switch for VSS priorities will be stored in the startup configuration file. Please visit the following link:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/switches/LAN/catalyst6500/IOS/12-2Sx/configuration/guide/book/VSS.html#wp1111770

However, it is no longer recommended and therefore should be avoided. I suggest you not setting is not the priority.

    HTH.

    Kind regards

  • PC8132F to Cisco Catalyst 3600

  • Cisco ASA 5510 L2L VPN on the backup interface

OK, here is what I have and I even if I knew how to do this, but it has not worked for me.  I hope someone out there can help you.

I have an ASA 5510 running 8.4 with double configuration of ISPs on 2 different interfaces: outside (primary), backup (backup).  I also have a site to site VPN ASA another in another city.  The VPN is now configured on the external interface and works very well.  What I wanted to do, is to make the VPN running on backup interface only.

So, I changed the card encryption on the remote side to use the backup interface IP and created a tunnel-group for her.  Then, I created a map encryption for backup interface and activated ikev1 on it.  The default route is configured to use the external interface, so I created a static route that routes traffic destined for the external interface of the remote side to the backup interface default gateway.  I can get to establish tunnels, but no traffic passes through them.  I have however while I need a NAT device for the tunnel traffic to I created a NAT so but still no transmitted traffic.  I tried the packet - trace and he said: the traffic was allowed and show its crypto ipsec command, I see the configuration of the tunnel, but no traffic will pass through it.  Can anyone help?

    Ben,

you use a code to version 8.4, I recommend starting by removing the config NAT statements at both ends. This version does not have the NAT and control, and if you don't need... I've seen instances with 8.4 (3) where a NAT even though apparently correct was causing not to pass through the traffic.

    Site A:

NAT (inside, backup) source static obj-SiteALAN obj-SiteALAN static obj-SiteBLAN obj-SiteBLAN

    Site b:

    NAT (inside, outside) source static obj - 192.168.5.0 obj - 192.168.5.0 destination static obj - 192.168.3.0 obj - 192.168.3.0

If possible, you should increase your AES encryption, but this is a personal point of view and should not stop the traffic through the links. You should be able to see the counters for the data transmitted / received are these incrementing?

Do you have the ACLs that are from the inside to the outside and internal interface to the Interface of backup (duplicated.

In this model, the control is the routing.

    Best regards

    Ju

  • Time capsule and errors to restore backups

I'm trying to restore different backups of 2 macbooks by using the migration wizard and finder, but I do get rather a warning message that the disk image could not be opened because there is no file system mountable or that the operation has been exceeded.

Otherwise, when I try to backup using time machine on the space remaining (1 TB) disk 2 TB of the time capsule, I repeatedly get the message that: "' Time Machine has conducted an audit of the backups on 'Time Capsule'." To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup"' when I click on"start new Backup ".

Any chance to access and retrieve the data stored on this disk?

    Thank you.

Once a backup Time Machine is corrupted, it is extremely difficult to recover. If you click on this message... TM will delete the existing backup and start over.

What model is the TC you use? Is it Gen4 or earlier... That is to say a flat one. If this is the case, you can remove the hard drive and put it in a door - and maybe access backup directly from the computer. If it's a Gen5... tall, then you will a lot more difficult. The hard drive is not easy to get out and it is very easy to damage the cable that connects the drive of TC in the plate.

    See https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Apple_Time_Capsule

You can always try to recover from the Finder. How successful will be depends entirely on suite corrupt how backups are.

Someone has worked hard to extract their data and published some useful information that I kept at hand.

Difficulty corrupted backup TM. Re: backup Time Machine stalls after upgrade of El Capitan

    (1) disable Time Machine.

    (2) judgment of all index Spotlight (mdutil d - a).

    (3) destroy all Spotlight indexes (rm - rf /.) Spotlight - V100) manually.

    (4) fix a problem of permission of system files with Spotlight (removed a bunch of files belonged to a non-existent user in a subfolder/private/var/folders Spotlight created). No idea how they got there, but they were there, and newspapers are complaining about them causing a fatal error.

    (5) index Spotlight the reactivation and let them build entirely.

    (6) re - run a backup Time Machine original.

Unfortunately at the time where you get the message about corrupt backups, it is too late...

It will be a bigger and bigger problem... and I'm encouraging people to rely not on TM of the way in which they may have had in the past. I use a secondary backup to TM system... Carbon Copy clone... CCC, which performs a backup much more simple... a direct clone... It is much less likely to be corrupt and can be instantly tested by booting from the clone (using USB) external to it.

  • Rescue and recovery lists no backup on USB Iomega eGO drive

    Hello

I have been using an Iomega eGO external backups USB drive.

I was able to identify and remove (if necessary) backups in Windows 7 and rescue & recovery running, but I can't get the list of backups at the start of a recovery in rescue & recovery DVD.

Basically I replaces unencrypted with a SSD hard drive that supports encryption.

The goal was to use a full backup immediately before removing the HARD drive to restore the complete system.

At the start of the recovery DVDs, recovery utility & rescue lists not all backups, even when the check box for the list of backups on other systems is checked.

It makes no difference if the selection of THE places or USB external drive.

    Any ideas?

Backups are not much good if you can't get back them.

If my old drive did not then I would be in a worse state than this. I can't say I'm impressed.

Well, I've finally sorted this issue.

I tried to create a new recovery disk.

I even tried the recovery time in Windows and see what backups it detected. Yet once, I drew a blank.

    The question was this:

On my W510 at least, none of the USB3.0 ports are recognized by Lenovo rescue and recovery software when you select the USB storage device. Once connected to a single USB 2.0 port the USB eGo has been recognized and listed backups.

Unfortunately, this means a minimum of 6 hours to restore from a full backup!
