Cisco Connect and OpenDNS

I've been using OpenDNS for a long time, and I just got the Linksys E3000. When I tried to change the settings to add OpenDNS, he said that some changes can cause the software Cisco Connect does not want to work more.

If I change the static DNS 1 and 2 (https://store.opendns.com/setup/device/linksys) I'll still be able to use all functions in the Cisco Connect software?

Yes, you will be. If you manually enter the static DNS 1 and 2 on your router you will always be able to use the Cisco Connect software. But if you change the name of the wireless network security key or password router manually, then you will not be able to use the Cisco Connect software.

  • EA4500 and OpenDNS

    Hi all

I tried for 30 minutes or so to get my OpenDNS settings in my EA4500 but I can't find options for DNS on the Cisco Connect Cloud Firmware v2.1.38.138880 entries. I use PPPoE for my ADSL settings to work, anyone can help me can where I insert these DNS settings?

If you configure the firmware of cloud for the first time, just fill in the basics and save.  Then, you will need to connect to the firmware main cloud using your cloud user name and password.   www.ciscoconnectcloud.com

Then go to connectivity.  Then click the LAN tab.  Then enter your static dns on the right side of the screen.

You cannot change the dns from an iphone or android app.  You must be on a computer.

  • Cisco Connect 'advanced settings '.

I have a Linksys E1000, firmware 2.1.02 Build 5. Everything works fine. I wish I could turn off and turn on Wi - Fi. I can't have a simple way of Cisco Connect to do. Is there a way?

Before installing Cisco Connect, I did it by browsing to 192.168.1.1, logging and the wireless tab, I chose 'Disabled' or 'Active '. Now, I think I need to go to Cisco Connect > router settings > change > advanced settings. But, he says: "... to change the advanced settings may prevent you from using Cisco Connect.

My question, if I turn off the Wi - Fi using the advanced settings of Cisco Connect, I eventually will be able to activate Wi - Fi using Cisco Connect advanced or I'd lose Cisco Connect altogether? Thank you.

Yes, it possible to disable, and then click Enable wireless by Cisco Connect. Cisco Connect will be still functional even after following the steps listed above. Later, when you want to enable wireless on your router, please ensure that you activate via Cisco connect itself.

  • Software Cisco Connect think connect my internet is lost

Software Cisco Connect think that my internet connection is lost, but it's not. It won't take me any further than that.  I would just use the administration of "Advanced" page but I am trying to enter to disable the guest network and for some reason, Cisco made that only configurable from the Cisco Connect software.

If you install the router manually (without Cisco connect) so the guest network will be automatically disabled / is not created.

Reset the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure the router manually.

Do not run the Cisco connect. Configure the router manually.

  • Cisco Connect is not installed correctly

I just bought an E2000 and used the CD provided to put up with my Wired Office. The router works with the computer cable, but the Cisco Connect software is not completely installed. He considers that it is installed, it creates a folder in "Program Files", but there is no executable file to run. I can't uninstall so I can not reinstall it. Operating system is Windows XP. Previously a WRT54G.

I could implement manually on the web as long as I try to reinstall the software after you reset it.

  • Wired connection is not displayed in Cisco Connect

  • implementation of Cisco Connect on new computer

    Hello

I just got a new computer and I'm trying to set up Cisco Connect on the new machine, I'll retire the old machine shortly.

When I try to install, it tells me that he wants to start configuring my router.

My router is already set up exactly like I want, and I fear that if I continue the installation, it will be clear my current setup and configure the router with the default settings.

Is it possible to just install the Connect application without changing my current setup?

    Thank you

    Ed

I did that and Yes just continue with installation that it not to delete my current config on the router. Your good to go...

  • Cisco Connect connects to the router E2000

I got an E2000 router, set up and works very well for years. Today, I tried to connect with Cisco Connect, I want to establish a network of separate comments (by the way, if there's a way to do this through the web management interface, please let me know!). However, the software is unable to connect to the router; the progress bar gets to 25%, and then eventually times out. I tried several computers on network, cable and wireless, with the same results. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I solved the problem; I activated the setting "Allow users to set up" in the "Administration" tab, as well as utility access Web via HTTP. I don't know which of these settings did the trick, but I was able to connect and configure the network invited (even from a PC wireless).

In case you're wondering, the Cisco Connect software has been renamed Linksys Connect.

    I hope this helps.

  • E2500. Cisco connect. Threre is an important update for your router...

But there is no... or it does not work for some reason any and you get the same screen over and over again and will prompt you to install an update.

Technical support knows the problem but has no information when... or if it will be fixed.

If you encounter this problem, please call and let them know:

    1-800-326-7114

The current workaround is to select the bullet next to "later told me...". »

I had the same problem.  It was decided at the beginning of last week.

This is a problem in the Cisco database if:

You have the latest firmware 1.0.04)is

You have the latest version of the software Cisco Connect CiscoConnect.E2500.1.4.11299.0, 0

If Cisco Connect back to the database to see what version of firmware is necessary, he gets an indicatoi that you need to do an upgrade.

Try again, they just fixed the datebase and my Cisco Connect for the E2500 gets is no longer in the loop.
