Cisco CSR 1000v and AnyConnect

Well, I want to use Cisco AnyConnect (Cisco VPN Client 5.0 or 6.0) with Cisco CSR 1000v

someone could gimme the best way how to deploy that?

Hi Miroslav

Consult the following Documentation for the same thing.

http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/iOS-XML/iOS/sec_conn_sslvpn/CONFIGU...

https://supportforums.Cisco.com/document/12470701/configure-sslvpn-Cisco...

And I thin that you did not properly mention Version Client AnyConnect. AnyConnect Versions are like 3.1.x/4.x.x.

  • ASA 5545 and Anyconnect Licenses

Currently, we use several devices to Cisco ASA 5545.  Initially, we learned that we were automatically allowed using the Anyconnect Secure Mobility client with our ASA devices.   With recent security issues, we are trying to move to a solution that supports TLS 1.2, and it seems that anyconnect Mobility Client 4.0 will do exactly that.   My question is, the automatic authorization supplied with the unit of 5545 ASA include Client Anyconnect 4.0?   After an exhaustive search, I am still unable to find this information.   Also, is there an official document detailing exactly what licenses is part of 5545 device, with respect to other Cisco Software Solutions?

    Thank you

    David

All * ASAs include two licenses AnyConnect Premium "free." Which is designed primarily for the evaluation, as most businesses need more two simultaneous remote access users. However, if that's all you need is free and fully functional. It was designed around the Client AnyConnect Secure Mobility 3.x and earlier offer.

From 4.0, there is a new model of licence for AnyConnect. It is explained in the Guide of command AnyConnect. While it is not currently applied by technical means, use of AnyConnect 4.0 requires having a license to do so.

For some additional supporting documents as you initially requested, see also "Feature Licenses" of the Configuration Guide of the SAA.

    * Some models do not support remote access VPN and either do not have the feature available or cannot use the license - for example ASA 1000v and an ASA working in multiple context mode.

  • ASA 1000V and ASA 5500

I hope someone can help me to answer this question:

Currently, we have redundant FWSM and consider a migration of standalone ASA 5500 series firewalls. However, we have a complete VMWare environment and look at the Nexus 1000V. I understand the Nexus 1000V and ESR architecture and implementation, and I don't understand that the ASA 1000V is designed for cloud environments. But I have a question about the ASA 1000V.

Is it possible that a firewall series ASA 5500 be replaced by ASA 1000V? Basically, can an ASA 1000V to be a single firewall solution, or are that ASA 5500 is always necessary?

Is there a datasheet anywhere that compares the ASA 1000V and ASA 5500 series?

    Thanks for your help.

    -Joe

Depending on what you are using the ASA5500 series for now. If you use the ASA5500 for the remote access vpn and AnyConnect VPN, he will not rely on the first version of the ASA1000V yet.

    Here's the Q & A on ASA1000V which includes more information:

  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Virtual Switch Module investment series in the Cisco Unified Computing System

    Hi all
I read an article by Cisco entitled "Best practices in Deploying Cisco Nexus 1000V Switches Cisco UCS B and C Series series Cisco UCS Manager servers" http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps9441/ps9902/white_paper_c11-558242.html

A lot of excellent information, but the section that intrigues me, has to do with the implementation of module of the VSM in the UCS. The article lists 4 options in order of preference, but does not provide details or the reasons underlying the recommendations. The options are the following:

    ============================================================================================================================================================
Option 1: VSM external to the Cisco Unified Computing System on the Cisco Nexus 1010

In this scenario, the virtual environment management operations is accomplished in a method identical to existing environments not virtualized. With multiple instances on the Nexus 1010 VSM, multiple vCenter data centers can be supported.
    ============================================================================================================================================================

Option 2: VSM outside the Cisco Unified Computing System on the Cisco Nexus 1000V series MEC

This model allows to centralize the management of virtual infrastructure, and proved to be very stable...
    ============================================================================================================================================================

Option 3: VSM Outside the Cisco Unified Computing System on the VMware vSwitch

This model allows to isolate managed devices, and it migrates to the model of the device of the unit of Services virtual Cisco Nexus 1010. A possible concern here is the management and the operational model of the network between the MSM and VEM devices links.
    ============================================================================================================================================================

Option 4: VSM Inside the Cisco Unified Computing System on the VMware vSwitch

This model was also stable in test deployments. A possible concern here is the management and the operational model of the network links between the MSM and VEM devices and switching infrastructure have doubles in your Cisco Unified Computing System.
    ============================================================================================================================================================

As a beginner for both 100V Nexus and UCS, I hope someone can help me understand the configuration of these options and equally important to provide a more detailed explanation of each of the options and the resoning behind preferences (pro advantages and disadvantages).

    Thank you
    Pradeep

No, they are different products. vASA will be a virtual version of our ASA device.

ASA is a complete recommended firewall.

  • Differences and similarities between standard customer VPN and AnyConnect Client

I have the experience of using the Cisco VPN client and the configuration to the ASA

are with Crypto Maps and others to help establish what I consider 'normal VPN' tunnels.

I have (my company is a partner of Cisco) meeting with a client of perspective tomorrow to discuss FW and VPN solutions.

I'm trying to digest today, what are the other Options VPN.

ASDM shows 3 boxes under Setup > remote access VPN.  The 3 options are (in this order):

Clientless SSL VPN Remote Access (using the Web browser) THAN THAT I UNDERSTAND

Remote access SSL VPN (using Cisco AnyConnect Client) what I DO NOT UNDERSTAND

Remote access IPsec VPN (using the Cisco VPN Client) THAN THAT I UNDERSTAND

Before you see these choices on the SAA, I felt that 'Remote access SSL VPN' using a Web browser.  What is the AnyConnect Client, and what is a concrete example of when I would choose this option vs the other options VPN.

    Thank you

    Kevin

I enclose a photo of what I am referencing above in order to eliminate any confusion...

    Kevin,

You should check what file you download.

    For example, something like this:

.pkg is the installer for the SAA (flash memory) so that it can be pushed to clients over SSL connections

.msi is the executable file for the client operating system

The great driver with most of the people running the 1000v I talked to is give visibility to the network team and streamlining changes made to the virtual network environment. In a great organazation with a network operations team, they will create an IVR to route a new VLAN, and then create the new VLAN on all switches distribution and access in the area of layer 2, just 1000v allows them to move forward and it create on the hypervisor using a set of commands that they already know.

  • help required for cisco nexus 1000v

    Hello

I have three esxi host in my environment and I want to integrate these hosts with cisco nexus 1000v switch.

I installed vsm on host1 and adding the remaining host via vsm Update Manager. exchanges I have already create in SMV shown in the welcome that I've added to the vsm, but the port group is not shown on the host1 esx on which I have installed vsm, should I also add the host that contains MSM in the cisco nexus switch?

I want to say that I have installed the MEC on any army three esxi. is it good?

    Hi Mohsin,

Where did you read that? In the past, we have added the guests, including one who executes the VSM. Usually run us both VSMs (primamry and secondary) and add anti rules affinity so that the two VSMs are on different hosts. I'm not a person CISCO, but having worked with CISCO engineers, we had no problem with what you have just mentioned. It would really be a waste of host in my opinion. I don't see why this could be a problem... As long as you have all your trade (PGs for your packages VSM etc etc) in place, you should be able to add all hosts in my experience.

  • difference between cisco NAC agent and cisco Clean Access Agent

    Hi all

If anyone has the idea on different between cisco NAC agent and cisco Clean Access Agent, please let us know your ideas.

    Thank you

In 4.6, the agent has been revised and is now called the NAC agent.  Previous versions were called the clean access Agent.  So roughly, 4.5 and 4.1.3.2 agent are own access agents, and agents 4.6.x and 4.7.x are called NAC agents.

Some of the changes are moving a lot of the agent configuration in an XML file, redesign of the GUI, adding a service portion (of the sort that the agent of heel is no longer necessary) and the best journaling agent.

  • Cisco VPN Client and Windows XP VPN Client IPSec to ASA

I configured ASA for IPSec VPN via Cisco VPN Client and XP VPN client communications. I can connect successfully with Cisco VPN Client, but I get an error when connecting with the XP client. Debugging said "misconfigured groups and transport/tunneling mode" I know, they use different methods of transport and tunneling, and I think that I have configured both. Take a look at the config.

PS a funny thing - when I connect with client VPN in Windows Server 2003, I have no error. The only difference is that client XP is behind an ADSL router and client server is directly connected to the Internet on one of its public IP of interfaces. NAT in the case of XP can cause problems?

    Hello

For the Cisco VPN client, you would need a tunnel-group name configured on the ASA with a pre-shared key.

    Please see configuration below:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805734ae.shtml

    or

    http://tinyurl.com/5t67hd

Please see the section of tunnel-group config of the SAA.

There is a tunnel-group called "rtptacvpn" and a pre-shared key associated with it. This group name is used by the VPN Client Group name.

So, you would need a specific tunnel-group name configured with a pre-shared key and use it on the Cisco VPN Client.

Secondly, because you are behind a router ADSL, I'm sure that's configured for NAT. can you please activate NAT - T on your ASA.

    "crypto isakmp nat-traversal.

Thirdly, change the transformation of the value

  • Cisco Telepresence SX20 and Touch 8 Configuration after paired

    Hello

I successfully connected and combined the SX20 Cisco's Telepresence and Cisco Telepresence Touch 8. Before using the 8 key, we used the remote control instead. As a result, I have two questions about this.

    1. as far as I know, when I use the 8 key, the remote control cannot be used. Is it possible to use both of them?

    2. How can I change the background of my SX20 touch 8? Previously, the remote I can easily choose the background for my SX20. But after pairing with Touch 8, background in my SX20 become a blue large clock. I really want to have a different background but cannot find the way how to change.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Bagus Hanindhito

After you connect the 8 Touch, you can still use the remote control, you will need to put on the SX20:

    SystemUnit MenuType experimental configuration: full

I think that the standard background when using a touchscreen device is what you see, blue with large clock.  However, after the MenuType return in full which will give you the full OSD which is used with the remote and not that of the button, you may be able to change the background then.
