Cisco DPC3008 replaced by Linksys CM3008?

I have a Linksys CM3008 DICSIS 3.0 cable modem. I understand he superceeds the Cisco/Linksys DPC3008.

It sets up quickly with my Comcast/Xfinity account.  Appearently, it is already recognized by Comcast.  The technology took my Linksys CM3008 serial number and address MAC of CM and in a few minutes, she was online.

The CM3008 has the LED colors (low vertical orientation above):

Blue Ethernet flashing (when live data)

Yellow status

Send blue upstream

Receive blue downstream

Yellow power

It is small and harder to stay in place with the coaxial cable connected.  Said, it's a great.  They listed a Linksys

Models CM3016/CM3024 which looks to the Cisco/Linksys DPC3008.

I respectfully disagree (on Linksys being mickey-mouse society).

I have the Linksys EA8500 router and now the Linksys CM3008 cable modem.  Linksys EA8500 has not been easy to install using the web www.linksyssmartwifi.com access.  It has an access point that follows updates and availability.

I replaced the Ciscio DPC3008 (DEPARTURE) provided Comcast with cable modem, Linksys CM3008.  I didn't do wrire down CM3008 serial number and MAC address of the CM.  I plugged the modem that is identical to the Comcast Cisco DPC3008.  I called Comcast tech and they ping the new modem, downloaded the firmware and I was online within 20 minutes.

I tried to access the modem through the original DPC3008 of Cisco (does not work).  I called Linksys tech support and they said the new modem does not follow the data but the router doesn't work.  I left it there.

I am happy with the Linksys EA8500 router and the CM3008.  Only complaint is the CM3008 cable modem is small (the size of a deck of cards).  Connector kept rigid cable modem twisted so I used a small bungee cord of the to attach to the roiuter.

It is not possible to change this logo - the only thing you can control is the "duration of the superimposed logo", which can be set to 'never' if he so wishes, thereby disabling the logo completely. • Make a choice of switching - catalyst 500/520/ESW Linksys SRW / SFE

Hello someone would be able to clarrify please where Cisco takes in what concerns the SMB switching product portfolio that I'm getting a little confussed.

My estimate that we currently have available that which follows to the SMB market, has decided there is a price difference significant between some of the product lines, but it seems that the choice when choosing a suitable switch fades a bit and starts to go down in price rather than the features and performance characteristics.

    1. Can I ask if there are plans to merge some of the ranges of products like the 500 and 520, which are the two similiarly priced, managed in almost the same way and have the same function defined.
    2. Are there plans for the ESW line replace the Linksys SRW/SFE and Cisco 500/520 existing equivalents?
    3. I would correct assuming the ESW line runs the Code of IOS?

    Mark,

    Big questions.  Thanks for posting.

    1. Yes, you can expect that over time, the ESW 500 series will replace the Catalyst Express series.

    2. There are no plans for the series of ESW 500 replace SRW/SFE switches.  These product families are somewhat overlapping, but intended for different types of SME customers and partners VAR.

    3. you are incorrect in assuming that the ESW is base IOS.  It is not the case.

  • Cisco VPN problems after installing the 506e

My apologies if this makes no sense, because it is my 1st install of a PIX.

I distance support external sites and had a Cisco VPN 4.6.00.49 connection through our Linksys router for access, company which worked a treat. We asked to have VPN access to our society, so I replaced the Linksys with a 506th PIX. I ran the Wizards(Yes I heard the gasps from 90% of you then) GUI access Internet out worked, came from e-mail in Exchange server and external users could vpn in our internal network. Great, I thought!

    BUT NOW

I have a problem with coming out through the 506th pix VPN.

My client connects to the external site. Authenticates the Logni & assigns a valid IP address. Unfortunately I couldn't make a ping, rdp or anything with the remote network.

  • Linksys X 2000 losing internet connection

Hi, I recently bought the router modem to Linksys X 2000/dsl, I ran the installation and everything works fine except when I am playing games online with a single device, and surf the web on a different peripheral it maintains kick one or two devices in offline mode, but if one of them is on it works fine.

I have AT & T dsl and I checked all my settings and the router has been installed by linksys Cisco Connect program but it still gives me this problem.

Can I do to solve this problem? My old router WRT54G and AT & T dsl modem do not have this problem.

Thank you for your time and your help.

I have reset the router by default, then I have updated the Firmware of the newsiest version Ver.2.0.01 (Build 4) who had just recently came out.

This seems to have fixed the DSL to disconnect,

Thanks for all the input and help.

  • Linksys N900 EA4500 speed problem

    Hi guys,.

I recently updated my ISP one up to 55 Mbps service (new modem - cisco DPC3008). I did some speed tests and what goes directly from modem pc my reaced 57.27 speed down and 10.72 upward.

When you browse the EA4500 router I can get 10.50 down and 3.73 upward. I read through a few recent discussions to go to the router configuration and

-Prioritation media-settings-the downstream bandwidth is fixed at 10945 kbit/s.

I tried to change to 55000 since I'm now up to 55 Mbps. In addition to the support WMM is defined on IT. I checked to see if the router is in need of an update of the firmware and the unit shows the firmware is uo to date. As soon as I leave the screen and return only the bandwidth is changed to 10945.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the router to Max which will result in the modem?

    Thank you. Bruno

    Thanks to FurryNutz. Problem solved

  • Weird Linksys x 2000 problem

Suddenly, I was not able to connect to websites at random and do not been able to add elements of online stores to cart.  I couldn't believe the router it would, but I've confirmed.  With Linksys x 2000 installed, I tested Linkedin.com on four of my computers.  2 Windows 7 Machines, Machine 1-Windows8 and server 1-2011. After you type the user name and password, page refresh to the login screen and does not allow me to connect to.  I tested it on all 4 machines.  Also tried to order something online and not allow me to put items in the basket.  Once tested on all four machines.

I set the router to the factory settings and tested and got the same results.  Disabled firewall and got the same results.  Ensure time was OK and got the same results. I had the latest firmware, 2.0.4 (or something like that) and no newer updates.

I replaced the Linksys X 2000 with provided ISP router Westell 8500 and none of the problems persisited.  Definitely something wrong with the x 2000 Linksys.  I'm in the Eastern time zone and think that the problem began with Day LIght Saving time, although I can't be sure.  Routeris is good time however.  Yet once, provider ISP don't give me any problems.

Anyone else with the same problems?

Yes, there are a lot of discussions on this problem. The problem is that cookies are blocked. Go to the security settings on the router and check the cookie. Who's going to fix it until we get a firmware update.

  • Cisco 6961 handset hook

I searched google for it, and now I turn on the support forums of Cisco looking for a spare part for the handset hook.  The hook that holds the device in place on our 6961 phones are broken or lost.  I can't seem to find a part of Cisco to replace the hook when he has lost or broken and it seems unfortunate to have to buy another phone just to replace the small piece of plastic.  Does anyone know if a replacement handset hook exists?  It's the little tab that you can return to the receiver to hold the handset against the phone.  Thanks in advance for any help!

Reach out to your Cisco AM; they can apply the product on the options Manager. I've heard rumors that also does not exist (for example the stickers for phones 7900) being available to manufacture in large quantities.

  • Repeated restart of the modem necessary?

I have an iMac (1.5 years) most recent with 16 GB of memory and a newer (6 months old) Airport Extreme and a Motorola Surfboard 1 (1 y.o..).  I find that at least 2 - 3 times a week I have to disconnect the two and closing the iMac, then reconnect and restart all (by suggestion of the T - W cable).  This is because the modem slows to a crawl (I pay 20 MB/s, most of the time exceeds this, but the 2 - 3 times a week it slows down to about 3-5 MB/s.)  This is particularly problematic because I also use a phone system VoIP (Ringcentral) who gets completely jerky and stutters when the ISP speed crawls. Why, what can I do on this royal pain.  Any ideas?  Thank you, all the...

What exact model is your surfboard modem?

The series of Arris/Motorola SB61XX modem seems to be incompatible with the base stations of 802.11ac AirPort (potentially, 802.11n models as well.) This is not bad in themselves, they just don't "play well" together. Typical questions are interrupted connectivity and low rate of transfer via the WAN - LAN interface.

However, if yours is one of these models, you can replace one or the other. For modems, either the Zoom 5341J or Cisco DPC3008 would be good choices. However, you must use a modem that is recommended by your ISP. For Time-Warner, visit this link.

    Thanks in advance,

    David

Unfortunately, the series of Arris/Motorola SB61XX modem seems to be incompatible with the base stations of 802.11ac AirPort (potentially, 802.11n models as well.) This is not bad in themselves, they just don't "play well" together. Typical questions are interrupted connectivity and low rate of transfer via the WAN - LAN interface. Two models of replacement recommended: Zoom 5341J & the Cisco DPC3008.

Regardless, it is recommended to use a modem that is approved by your ISP.

  • WOL/Magic Packet not work with the new EA9200

I just replace a Cisco E4200 with a LinkSys EA9200. I transferred all the port forwarding and other settings and everything seems to work except that a desktop computer that is connected to the router cable no longer appears to get Magic packets sent on the internet.  The package ispassed fine interenally.   The computer is static mapped and I rechecked the port and addressing informatuion on the new EA9200 and it's all good - it simply doesn't.  The EA9200 has the latest firmware.

    Ideas?

Short version: thank you very much for your help, everything works fine and life is sweet.

Long version: my previous set up was a wild card in what I forgot. I've always subscribed to and using the T-Mobile @Home. They have stopped supporting it there are about three years old, but those of us who had it could hold. In my previous set up with 4200 E, I have T-Mobile device between the modem and the router that it would not work on the other side of the router. However, I've now moved behind the router and the new router is apparently smart enough to allow the device T-Mobile get some connectivity it needs without problem. Accordingly, everything works fine, and the world turns once more in greased grooves.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • One-to-one rules NAT?

Can someone help me get my head around how to configure my firewall to put rules in place "Univocal" NAT?

I have a block of static IP addresses with our ISP. I am using two of them. One for our front door and another for our server SBS2011 hosting Exchange, OWA, etc... I'm looking to replace our Linksys RV082 with a UTM9s I have for assessment. On the Linksys, it's a simple box and a line of text and you're done. All of our web traffic appears to come from our gateway address and the mail is sent to and seems to come from the address of our server. How to configure the UTM9s to achieve the same thing?

    / 29 blocked IP addresses:
    ... 74<>
    ... 73
    ... 72
    ... 71
    ... 70
    ... 69<-sbs2011, mail.domain.com,="" mx,="" ptr,="">

I think I'm pretty clear on how to configure inbound rules, but technical support mentioned so the outbound rules. Unfortunately, he didn't much further to add.

I am currently waiting for a replacement UTM9s arrive, the first was DOA. I must say that those who thought it was a good idea to require an internet connection just updating the firmware should be expelled in the nuts.

    Help, please.

I actually just thought of it. The Barracuda service that I could replace it with the UTM was sent to the adresse.74 not le.69. The RV082 he let fly, the UTM would not.

    Thank you for your help.
