Cisco with BE6K Highway

Hello

If we offer Cisco on Cisco BE6k Expressway, the number of applications that we have with density average? AS I check dockwiki, 4 apps + mandatory 1

initiate collaboration.

So my understanding is a bundle of medium density BE6K, we can have 4 apps (CUCM, CUC, highway C + E Highway) and 1 mandatory first supply collab. My understanding on the sizing is correct? Is there something else to Mgmt or ELM is also required?

Ajay

Hi Ajay,

It is not mandatory to install install first Collaboration - but it's the only option for the "+ 1".  If you do deploy a PCP, all server resources can be dedicated to your collaboration applications.

In this case, you will have 2 CPU each of UCM, highway C and E Expressway, 1 for the CUC and 1 reserved for ESXi - so it is valid to a server of average density (8 CPU).  The memory footprint will fit also.

ELM is co resident with the AAU, so no need to another don't install.

You will just need to decide how to manage your network connectivity / separation for Highway C / e. this document might be of interest for this.

Hope this helps,

Andy

According to some sites, we need activate authentication in clear text. All those put in place secure as MSCHAP authentication?

    Hello

You activate the text authentication (PAP) clear. Don't forget Ray sends the username in clear but encrypts the password. You can confirm this take a wireshark capture. You will also get the RADIUS encryption using a key to Ray long and complex.

If you want to encrypt the user name and password, then you would use GANYMEDE

  • Problem of generation of ISE CSR Cisco with wildcard certificate.

We buy the Wildcard SSL certificate to be used in Cisco ISE but when I enter the following attributes given by the seller, I have this error.

« *. domain.com is not a valid generic name. The attributes that I created in the CSR as follows:

    CN = *. domain.com

    SAN

    DNS name: ise.domain.com

The above parameters is given by the seller. They said I should put this attribute because the certification authority (DigiCert), accepts that this certificate wildcard question format.

The seller rejected my previous CSR I created successfully with the following attributes below. This is based on the Cisco Documentation.

    CN = ISE.domain.com

    SAN

    DNS name: ise.domain.com

    DNS name: *. domain.com

I just want to confirm if the attribute given by the seller are valid for the Cisco ISE generate the CSR. Or to use the valid FQDN in the entrances to CN and not the generic name. And use the generic name in the name SAN DNS entry.

Please advice. Appreciate the prompt respose of the expert.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Mike

    Mike,

A wildcard cert is definitely the way to go in a distributed environment.  Use the host name the node of your Admin got into the CN field:

CN = ise, OR = domain, OU = com

then enter the SAN field as asown above the CSR.

  • Add disks to increase the storage on Cisco UCS BE6K

    Hello Experts,

We have a Cisco UCSC-C220-M3SBE and we would like to add more disks to increase the storage in VMWare. It would be as simple as buying another compatible HARD disk (like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148711) and placing him in the available slots? I know that I need to increase the storage in VMWare.

I think of buying 2 TB storage or as much as the server would allow me to get.

    Thank you

    Randy C.

Hi Rhandelle, in addition to what said Alvaro, yes it is possible increase of the storage volume by adding additional hard disks. It is also possible to extend the current raid volume, but if you don't do this correctly, you can lose your data. I recommend instead is that after you have added the support of hard drives to create a separate RAID with new hard drives and used VMWARE for you extend the data store.

  • GW ISDN Cisco with VCS control

    Hi Experts,

I'm new with Cisco ISDN Gateway 3200, and I will integrate to the existing video network managed by VCS control with the endpoints and MCUS registered as SIP.

Here is an example of the existing video network numbering plan:

SIP URI endpoint: [email protected] / * /

MCU SIP URI: [email protected] / * /

    ISDN GW H323 alias: 54xxxxx

I came up with these questions:

    1. for us intergate ISDN GW on the video network, we must save as H323 on the right VCS?

    2. to call scenario as a point endpoint SIP or MCU calling to one ISDN endpoint via video, how the call flow? Make the registered endpoint/MCU SIP point as SIP on the VCS can dial directly on this endpoint ISDN? Or they will call first the H323 number of ISDN GW recorded on the VCS then routed to an auto attendant of the ISDN GW?

    3. How about ISDN endpoint SIP endpoint?

Please send me a sample of guide and the configuration of the ISDN GW and VCS about how we could improve the flow of calls work on the call scenarios mentioned.

    SIP---> ISDN

    ISDN---> SIP

Thank you very much for the help.

    Best regards

    Acevirgil

    Hello

    1. For us to intergate the ISDN GW on the video network, we need to register it as H323 on the VCS right?

Yes, it's true. This isn't the only method, but it is the most used and most easy way. I suggest you use it.

    2. For call scenario like from a SIP endpoint or MCU calling an ISDN endpoint via video, how's the call flow? Do the SIP endpoint/MCU registered as SIP on the VCS can dial directly on that ISDN endpoint? Or they will dial first the H323 number of the ISDN GW registered on the VCS then routed to an auto attendant of the ISDN GW?

In this case, you will need to ensure interoperability the call in VCS. No matter what SIP endpoint can dial numbers ISDN, and then VCS will route the call to the gateway h323 format, only the number with any ' @domain.com ' and the call will be interoperability. The flow would be something like this:

Point endpoint [sip] SIP----> - VCS [H323]---> Gateway ISDN

    3. How about from ISDN endpoint to SIP endpoint?

The same concept is applied. ISDN gateway sends the call in H323 for VCS and interwoks VCS the call and sending SIP endpoint. Something like this:

    SIP endpoint<-------[sip]--------- vcs=""><--------[H323]---------- gateway="">

With regard to incoming calls from gateway ISDN to VCS, there is one important thing to consider. You basically have to methods:

    • You can configure the ISDN gateway to route calls to the auto attendant, then users will be able to recompose the verse numbers of internal endpoint for the auto attendant
    • You can configure the ISDN gateway to use DID (Direct inward dialing), in this case, you create routes to the gateway which maps each ISDN number to an internal endpoint registered to the SCV

Both methods work fine, however, when using auto attendant, it is very important to implement a scheme of toll-free fraud prevention. Take a look at this thread:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/message/3971947#3971947

Regarding the guide, it is not a simple step by step explaining, but the Administrator's guide provides a good explanation on how to configure the dial plan in the gateway and how to enter the doors of VCS. Check out this guide:

    I hope this helps.

  • C90 Cisco with 7 cameras - chaining

    Hello

We have installed a codec C90 Cisco in a large training room using 7 1080 HD Precision cameras chaining.

You have a document on how to configure the C90 with Garland of 7 cameras guides on how to operate the cameras for example spend 1 camera to another and how to use the remote control.

Thank you very much for the help.

    Hello

You can use document about Garland of camera and limitation here

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/endpoint/camera/PR...

    Search for Garland

About commissioning, whenever you want to use any camera make sure to have it as a main video for the codec, the second thing that must be supported is the remote control should be close to the camera to have adequate control.

You must of course remote control IR response should come from desired camera, if cameras are close to each other, make sure to set the remote control DIP switch.

Will you keep the fixed camera position or he has to move, if it is necessary to go you will rely on the remote control or any third party controller?

IAM get selfview main camera only. The two camera is connected in chains and able to control.

Is there any configuration required to activate the secondary camera of the codec to display free.

    The camera is precision 1080 12 X.

    Bobby.

You can change the source of the main camera using one of the following options:

The remote control of the menu (don't remember the exact location).

The web interface, and on the page of call control, the configuration page of the system in the video options.

The serial port or SSH, you can issue commands directly on the codec to change the camera to help source xConfiguration Video MainVideoSource .

Don't forget Wayne said, you can have a single camera selected at any time, therefore, you will see whatever the camera is selected as the primary source, unless you use Console TC composite multiple cameras in a single stream to display on the screen.

We have: Rev AiroNet350 Cisco with WPA - EAP: Freeradius with EAP/TLS and PEAP, tablet PC PORTEGE with WinXP sp2 configuration.

    This problem discribed in http://wiki.freeradius.org/index.php/FAQ#PEAP_Doesn.27t_Work
Perhaps to solve this problem we need a fix (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885453/en-us), but microsoft support said to contact the laptop manufacturer.
Can someone help me with this problem?

Hmmm I m not an expert in this area, but it seems that the MS OS update is necessary. (I hope)
The preinstalled Windows operating system is a simple OEM version and generally all updates should be possible. However, if MS guys told you to communicate with the manufacture of the laptop, you can contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for details.

But I studied a bit on the net and found this site useful:

    1. 802. 1 X is based on communication between your router and a RADIUS authentication server. If you use WEP, WPA or WPA2 with dynamic keys, 802. 1 X debugging following tips may be useful:
    a. reintroduce the same RADIUS secret in your wireless router and the RADIUS server.
    b. configure your RADIUS server to accept the request of the RADIUS of the IP address of your router.
    c. use ping to check the accessibility of router-server.
    d. package watch LAN account to verify that RADIUS and answers queries are fluid.
    e. use an Analyzer like Ethereal Ethernet to watch RADIUS success/failure messages.
    f. for XP SP2, turn on Wzctrace.log by typing "command netsh ras set followed * activated.

2 if RADIUS is flowing but are rejected requests for access, you may have a problem of incompatibility or credential X Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) 802.1. This setting depends on Type EAP. For example, if your RADIUS server requires EAP - TLS, then select 'Card chip or other certificate' of your adapter wireless network properties / authentication Panel. If your RADIUS server requires PEAP, then select "Protected EAP" of the adapter. If your RADIUS server requires EAP-TTLS, then you will need a third-party wireless like AEGIS or in Odyssey client.
Make sure that this specific EAP properties match for your adapter and the server, including the server CA certificate root trust Server domain name (optional but must match when it is specified) and the customer (EAP-MSCHAPv2, EAP - GTC) authentication method. When you use PEAP, use the control panel to 'Configure' CHAP to prevent Windows from automatically re-use of your connection.
