Classic classic BlackBerry without access to mobile network

Hi all

I recently traveled abroad and disabled the mobile network on my classic Blackberry. After returning last night, I found I could not turn it on and get cellular service (after clicking on the Mobile network, it keeps saying "put out cellular services" and not to others). Any suggestion is appreciated.

John

Thank you so mucy Sdgardne. Very grateful can get support from the community so quickly!

Have you tried the instruction, but the phone still does not work. Went to the Virgin store and replaced a SIM by their request. The phone works now and the problem most likely came from the SIM card (the said store that happens frequently due at the rate of unknow guys).

Once again, appreciate :-)

If I turn on my wifi at home & sign in, & at the same time, let Mobile network on... fresh data which of them will be run out of?  The Mobile network will win or share or just use wifi?

Also I was wondering because I wonder if light work wifi when I'm at work, save my data & pass their lol

    TIA!

    Hello

In general, BBs "prefer" WiFi network of business for services BIS data. You can always check inside the connection management > State of Services, which BIS route is average.

But you should also check inside the apps... many 3rd party applications have configuration items, inside the application, allowing you to order the application to use a data compared to another channel. What I always do is run my apps use BIS... in this way, they will follow along as BIS shifts between WiFi and my network of business data. But, if (for example) you configure an application to use only your corporate data network, while the app can avoid past well after BIS BIS to WiFi, and this app may well continue to consume data out of your network connection data carrier, even if BIS moved to WiFi.

With older OS levels, you had no choice, but to leave the "Data Services" set on "on" any channel to use, which often caused the situation described above (BIS on WiFi, but some consumption of carrier data app)... disabling the Services of data, these levels of older OS, BIS-level data for all channels off including WiFi. With the later levels of the operating system (somewhere in the OS7 range, I remember well), you can actually turn off the parameter Data Services and wireless leash... that allows BIS to still work on WiFi, but prevents any application using the data carrier network regardless of how the application is configured.

But... I'm curious... you may have about the features that only work on SmartPhones BB, yet your profile on this site says you have only a PlayBook, in which case none of this applies since the PB has no radio has WiFi and mobile only. But, you posted this in the "BOLD" of this site section, so you could guess assumes that you have a "BOLD" in addition to your PB...

    Good luck!

  • Classic BlackBerry cannot create a Mobile Hotspot on my classic

I'm here in New Zealand with a classic parallel imported Mobile unlocked in the United Kingdom. I can't generate a mobile hotspot. I do all the things asked of me, but just scroll circle keeps scrolling. I get data and emails on the phone and I had the sim card works in an iphone and successfully created a mobile hotspot. A Vodafone store that has tested the SIM did say that the configuration screen has not shown all the necessary addresses. Someone knows where and what settings can I change to fix the problem. It is certainly in the configuration of the phone.

Hello. Made the sideload the last flight and mobile hotspot works very well. I still have the passport with the same problem, so happy to run that if you want to try and solve the puzzle! Really grateful for your contribution and your interest.

  • Problems of Smartphones with WIFI blackBerry without a data package (network of curve 8520 O2 - UK)

    Hi all

Sorry if it sounds a little vague but a buddy of mine has one just entered into the world of the blackberry and some problems, so I thought that I try and help out. It is not the data packet at the moment (trying to persuade, but thinks he can take the time lol) and attempts to use the wifi on the phone to access the internet at home. The phone is connected to its network and has received an IP address but still does not seem to let you browse the web.

The browser settings have changed to the hotspot browser and I think the preference of connection has been replaced by a preferred WI - fi connection. Are there settings I can change that I may have missed that could help or is it something that has been locked by O2 to make you buy the data service?

    Thanks for any help.

    Robb

If you have the hotspot active browser, should all needed.

Go in manage connections > in the first section, to WiFi, is the WiFi network name listed, and what is right, a green check mark, dash white or what?

Now click on manage connections > status of Services. What is next to the heading "WiFi network", active profile, etc.?

Hi @yvonnec1! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

You don't mention what specific solutions you have tried already, if I may say so things that you've already tried. Have you seen this KB: KB33501 ?

  • BlackBerry App investigating the classic BlackBerry, T-Mobile and the WiFi calling app

I am looking for on this forum after being (possibly) achieved through BlackBerry World (located here, so you can make reference to what I'm going to talk: https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/35524900 ) this app is marked as 'BlackBerry Lmtd' being the developer, that's why it is implicit that BlackBerry updates to this app and is responsible for its support. I am at this point, after trying (for weeks) to find how this whole process of WiFi calling went down, I was told by T-Mobile at the level executive response that BlackBerry was next to insider support. In its current form the above application currently supports only prior 2 BB10 peripheral T-Mobile, the Q10 and Z10. Despite the classic hit the shelves of T-Mobile, despite the fact that T-Mobile as well as the TWO classic BlackBerry supports WiFi called, it seems to come down to this app gets an update. I write here wondering if there is information about the status of this application as well as the support with regard to devices. Will be it be updated to include the classic? Is this a known issue? Is this really T-Mobile app? Just anything, any kind of transparency or tiny tidbit of information be always so would appreciate! If anyone has information or can better direct me on where to take my survey, I am more than happy to wait for your answers! Thank you for your time.

That's the beauty of this site... we do not work for carriers, nor for the BB. So, we can be truly independent and share more that they would be allowed to share. But, keep in mind that everything we know is therefore not official (unless it is a public site, such as the database of BB KB). We are sure that we are right on these points, but being not "in it", we can't know with 100% certainty.

You're most welcome and good luck!

  • Mobile network will not access blackBerry Z10 Z10

    Hello world.

My Z10 100-1 STL gives me an option to switch on the mobile network (his protégé). Airplane mode is disabled.

When I go into the settings of the Sim Card, the phone doesn't detect the Sim Card. I use a micro sim card.

I did a battery pull, removed the SIM and again left the battery of the phone for a while because it is also very hot and not load completely, but when I put the battery on, there is still no access to the mobile network. I can't make any calls at all.

    Help, please!

    K.

    Hello.

    Thanks for the reply.
The phone is 1 year old. Bought new and he has never done this before.

Is there anything specific on the phone download for example.

    My OS is 10.0.10.738
I'm not on BIS or BES.

Your operating system is very old.

First, you need to upgrade the operating system to 10.2.1.xxxx, which will most likely solve the problem (s)

  • Classic BlackBerry change language without knowing the language

Just bought a classic Blackberry and it works. Be it by my mistakenly preset, the language is Chinese.

I would like to change in German or English, but could not find the configuration.  (And Yes, I know it's in the preferences > languages or more, but that doesn't help me because I can't read what I would need to set up and where I would have to do).

Not even look to high German and English in Chinese characters. Think I found it in one of the drop-down lists, but even this does not change the language. Most likely, it was the wrong settings...

Completely blocked. (Wouldn't start a return for a phone which otherwise is probably very well.)

Are there keyboard shortcuts to reset to factory settings or change the language?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hi @aknoche

The device has a defined password? If so you can enter the wrong password 10 times to trigger a wipe that should return the unit to return to English.

If you do not have a password I recommend a cleaning charge as would be the best way to restore the device into English, unless you can find someone who can navigate the menus in Chinese. Sorry!

  • to use my android with my laptop using Windows phone 7 to access the internet via my mobile network without wifi

I tried to use pdanet as well as samsung software to activate droid to attach it to my computer and allow my computer to use my mobile network (no wifi).  can't seem to make this work.  my computer shows the phone droid as a recognized device.

Sorry was a little confused, you ask a question on a Microsoft Forum Android.

On android, you try to perform a "tie".  Depending on your operator, which may require add them a feature to your account to make it work.  There are several applications out there, that you can use to root your phone to install applications that will try to fake on the carrier.  Here's a piece of Security Council 'Root never your phone', it will cause problems and make you more vulnerable to exploitation thereafter.

But back to tie, I guess that you do not want to pay for an app for a quick search of the Amazon AppStore poster a few promising ones:

  • Classic BlackBerry very basic (?) stupid question

I don't yet have a classic BlackBerry and I understand that it works with GSM, and that neither AT & T nor Verizon carriers nor any other major carrier supports again.  So if I buy a classic BlackBerry now, it means that I already have a cell phone to work with a carrier such as AT & T MOBILE and I need to get the SIM card to connect to the BlackBerry?  And I expect that it works?  Thank you.

BlackBerry works in all the usual is GSM, 3G and LTE networks. All you need is a the operator's standard data plan you.
