  Hello. I recently built my own PC and installed a purchased copy of Windows 7 hard disk. I'm upgrading to an SSD 120 GB and I was wondering if there was a way completely erase my old hard drive for all files and all re - install windows using my CD key and product.   Not at all, you can erase and reinstall Windows as many times as you want as long as you have the product key.  The only restriction is that the key can be used only on one computer at a time.  Unless this key is used somewhere else, you can install a billion times.  The key is what you pay for, not the CD (in fact, if you lose the CD you can download another copy, but you need to keep your secret key).

  In any case, the process is simple: just put in the CD and restart and follow the steps to install.  When you get calls that lead to install on, you have options to format (erase) the drive and basically start over completely.

  The only real thing you need to know is that, after the installation, you will need to go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the drivers for your computer.  According to the computer, you may need to get the driver of network from another computer and copy it using a flash drive (if the network needs the driver before it can connect).

  I just bought a DELL Inspiron 17R laptop computer which came with Windows 8. I want to install an aftermarket SSD and do a clean install of Windows 8 on the SSD without all the stuff extra DELL piles on the computer in their factory. However, the laptop does not come with any media of Windows 8. My other options (copy windows divide in the SSD or use Windows backup and restore), both result in installing Windows 8 with a lot of software DELL.

  DELL said that they do not have the installation of Windows 8 media and I need to contact Microsoft to get it. Any ideas on how I can go about this? I'm happy to pay a nominal fee for the discs, but having already an OEM of Windows 8 installation, I want to avoid going to the shops and buy a new license.

  Unfortunately, your only option is to create a disk backup and restore using recovery tools provided by Dell and use it to reinstall Windows 8. This is especially true because you run Windows 8, which are not available elsewhere.

  What exactly do you want: clean windows installation or by using the disk Toshiba recover?

  I mean own installation only the Windows operating system using the Microsoft Win 7 disc.

  The simplest solution would be to save the data that you want to keep on an external hard drive, then remove this data and programs from the old hard drive so that only the BONE remains.  From there use migration software from your manufacturer SSD to clone the old drive to the new SSD using a USB to SATA.

  The Windows key is embedded in the BIOS and will be recognized by the computer on any installs.  It would be desirable to collect your key, just in case, using Belarc Advisor, which gives you all kinds of info on your computer.  Do this before doing anything.

  So it's very obvious from the actions of Microsoft that Microsoft aims is not to prevent piracy, but double dependent people when their system fails and requires a re-installation of external media (in which case they upgraded to a SSD, or their recovery partition is wiped out. The percentage of those who just end up buying a retail version of Windows when their disk failed hard is very important, something that adds dramatically to the benefits of Microsoft.   This part is quite obvious, given that their prevention of piracy is so poor that their policies can only intended strictly to reap illegal profits to force non-legal tech savvy users to pay twice for windows they already paid when they bought their system. It was not the case, they would freely allow users to download an OEM ISO of Windows 8, so that they can recover if their hard drive fails completely, as OEM ISO is useless for a pirate without a license (usually built-in to the motherboard) key and a pirate will have easy access to a copy of Windows 8 without worrying. Again, the only people hurt by these policies are legal users, not pirates.

  Now that piracy is concerned, I further suspect that given poor piracy prevention mechanisms of Microsoft that allow hackers to distribute auto activated copies of Windows 7, etc. that Microsoft would have rather let poor people use a pirated version of Windows to completely block and force them to use Linux that would increase the base of Linux users. So I surmise that they intentionally allow ways for hackers to hack their Windows software anyway, because the poor free moccasins will not pay for Windows do anything because they have simply not the money, yet nevertheless it is in the interest of Microsoft to prevent them moving to Linux because most of the poor is just young, and will later money for licenses of Microsoft. But here again the only systems in question here are systems more alumni who have XP or Vista, licenses while other systems that people are supposedly piracy have valid Windows 7 and 8 license keys that Microsoft wants a double payment for!

  This .iso works with product keys well Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. The main issue is to determine your edition. The edition correct will automatically enter your product key and brings you to the screen of the license agreement. Incorrect editing will ask for a product key. Also, there are two editions of 'free' missing; Windows 8.1 with Bing and Windows unilingual 8.1 with Bing.

  I bought a new SSD to replace the SATA drive in my Macbook Pro for mid-2010. I am running Yosemite. What I want to do, is to do a clean install of El Capitan on the SSD. I also bought a pregnant and plan on the use of the old drive as an external backup.

  I need some advice: after installing the ssd in the MBP and the old drive in the box, I intend to plug the old drive for the MBP, format the SSD drive and then use a reader flash which I did the Setup file of El Capitan to a clean of El Capitan for the SSD install and then use the Migration Wizard to migrate applications and files from the old drive.

  It's better. Some of these Macs experience problems after surgery. The new installation using the outside doing will give you confidence that it works before surgery, and no problem introduced by surgery can be separated from issues of installation and update.   Day 5. Attempt at 6.

  Partition Boot Camp delete and try again install via BCA. First question, is that when the startup it goes to a blank black screen. For a time nothing left.   A clean install of Windows 8 will be erase your other files by definition as recovery disks. Fortunately, Windows 8 has a few new options of Maintenance not seen in earlier versions. You can try a BONE 'refresh' that will install the new system of Windows 8 files without disturbing your data or settings.

  Hello

  I'm ready to do a clean install of Windows 10 but the only thing that worried me are the drivers provided factory installed with my laptop, it was initially delivered with Windows 64 - bit of 8.1. I don't want to lose one that I have no idea how or where I'm going to do if I lose everything. If someone has a way to understand this help is very much appreciated.

  I read your post on the new install of drivers of Win10 and wanted to help.

  As to the first, the upgrade of active Win10 through something known as right digital, install some sense, when you perform an upgrade on the spot on an existing Win7/8/8.1, upgrade reuses the existing product key for activation.  After you confirm that the machine is turned on, you can THEN do a clean install on the same machine.  IF you do a clean install without activating the first, you will not activate your copy of Win10.

  That said, MS released earlier to a new update to Win10 and (allegedly), you should be able to do a clean install with NEW media made from multimedia authoring tool and have it activate using your product key of Win8.1.  But, I haven't read anyone done this yet, is just a rumor at this point.

  As for save the drivers, there's a product excellent freeware called Driver Backup.  After you download and install it, you can then save out all your current drivers on a USB key.  This will make reinstall them later a simple process. I know it works because I use this product myself.
