Clean install of Windows XP Home Edition. How will I know if I need any driver to install?

I recently installed Windows XP Home Edition on my PC and I don't know if I'm away from all the drivers. Everything SEEMS to work fine, but I just want to know if I do any driver installs.

Right mouse on my computer, properties, select hardware then click on Device Manager look here on the devices if you see point exclamation or question marks on one of them or more, then you should correct the error by installing the correct driver for these devices, and if you don't see anything. Then, everything is ok with you.

If it is not broken, do not fix it. This is especially true with the BIOS.

Unless you're trying to solve a particular problem and you believe that a new BIOS will help, do not touch. The BIOS is a thing which can brick a computer if something goes wrong during the flashing process.

How will I know what bit is?

Because they do not have a 64-bit edition family... you have a 32-bit operating system.

To see for yourself, make a right click workstation-> properties, on the general tab, you will see under "system":
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

For a 64-bit version "Windows XP Professional x 64 Edition" appears under System.

  • HP Envy 4500 - How will I know if I need to update the firmware?

I just bought a HP Envy 4500.  The version of the installed firmware is MKM1FN1322BR.   The firmware on the HP site is MKM1FA1322BR.   How will I know if my firmware is older?

Also, I tried to plug the printer directly via USB to update with the update of the firmware, and it does not work.  I try to use 'Start Again' several times, but nothing changes.   I disabled the wireless and even restarted the printer and it still does not work.  Local printer (USB) has been selected by default.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and the file being used is HPCOM_HP_ENVY_4500_series_x64_000_003.exe.

    Help, please.

    Hi @judremy

Version codes sometimes differ depending on how the Unit received its last update, so you don't have to worry about different codes. Updates can be received thought the site manually or via the Web Services menu on the printer itself.

You have the printer connected to your wireless network? If so, the version you have had likely been obtained of the printer itself.

Is there a problem you encounter that lead you to this mission of firmware, or are you simply being proactive in any ESC?

If there is something I can help with that let me know.

  • How will I know if I need to update my firefox

How can I find out which version I use and is at - it a more secure version available?

    Hey, Tim

Excellent question! It is good that you have asked here first instead of blindly after this popup bar link. Many sites have misleading links to downloads of Firefox. Even Google ads on the search results page lead to false and distorted versions of Firefox that delivered malware or the Adware. What is annoying and scary. I really hate Google practices of ad wrong here and infect unsuspecting people who click on the top of page ads that resemble results of research.

But in this case, this popup bar belongs to a good site called browser - update.org.

    The contextual link took me:
    Browser-Update.org/Update-Browser.html# [email protected]

I clicked on the Firefox link on his site and it took me right to the main site of Mozilla Firefox to upgrade to the latest version. And yes there is a more secure version. We are now on version 36.0.4.

For this version, follow this link:
    https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/new/

If you remember to just visit mozilla.org/firefox when you think that you need to update, you will have to fix the site every time.

If it is still a bit too hard to remember, you can also press Alt on your keyboard when you have Firefox open. It opens a small menu upstairs. Click Help > about Firefox. Which will show you your version. It will also be the same check with the Mozilla site, if you are up to date. If you're not, it will automatically start a download for you to upgrade to the latest version. You will see an animation of download in the Firefox window letting you know that it is updated.

  • How will I know when I need to save a document?

Greetings...  In my view, that I use the latest version of inDesign.  Build 11.2.0.99 I use it on an iMac (version 5 k retina) under OS X 10.11.2

I have just a simple question.  When I used inDesign in the past, I always knew that when I had made a change in a document and should save it some time soon because he had an icon at the top of the document seemed to be dimmed, after I made the slightest change in the document, and then after that it has been saved there look normal... no passed out colors than him.

This icon at the top of the page has gone now with the new version of inDesign.  Is there a way to get it back... and hide the parameter I can switch, maybe?   IR is there another way to know that a document must be saved very soon?

    Thank you...

You usually turn off the frame of the Application (window > Application frame) on your Mac.

If it is disabled and the framework of the Application does not appear, your document window emerge freely. On top of this, you will have two indications that the file should be saved: the file name begins with an asterisk, and InDesign logo will be greyed out.

If you have application framework on the indication is more subtle: there will be an asterisk before the name of the file when it should be saved in the tab that displays the file name.

There are a few advantages to turn on the framework for Application on a Mac. Your documents perfectly will jump to the panels autour / them. And you will have more of the bureau that could show hide behind your document window. In addition, when you reopen a window, it opens exactly as you saved and closed the document window.

On Mac, you get the choice of turning on or off. In Windows, you have not; them is always a part of the application.

  • Tecra S3 - need SATA / RAID driver for installing Windows XP Home edition

I'm doing a new installation of windows xp on a Toshiba Tecra S3 model PTS30E-0DT03FDU
Who knows where to find the RAID driver to load when you start the installation of xp?

Please visit the download page for Toshiba - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp - once again and the slot type of product choose Archive.

For Windows XP Home edition, you will find RAID driver for download.

    Hello, welcome.

If please, go to the flag in the task bar and click on it, click Open Action Center, expand the chevron of security, spyware / malware protection-click see installed antispyware programs and you'll see it there. Don't forget that you have an antivirus, I'd say you Microsoft Security Essentials to http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ , just click on this link. Note that if you install MSE, it will turn off Windows Defender by default.
