Hello

  • Is it safe to remove all but one or two recent copies of the folder Windows Live Contacts located in AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Live Contacts?

Is safe to remove apparently to the copies of the files of Windows Live Contacts is located in the directory of following:
    C:\Users\Krista\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Active Contacts

During a recent cleaning disc, I tried to 'explorer' of these files that take more than 150MB. I was unable to access the files and was motivated indicating that the folders were empty (even if the box 'properties dialog box' shows that they are each around 30 MB.)

Real statistics for AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Live Contacts folders:

    * I guess that it is the most 'common' or 'active' Live Contacts folder

I use Outlook 2003 for my contacts and e-mail and have a hard time justifying 150 MB of data in the old WLContacts files to stay on my HDD. At this point I did not anything else that create 5 files zip files (which takes 10 MB of space instead of the 150 MB uncompressed.

In summary, I would like to get an opinion heard on whether or not the removal of the Windows Live Contacts AppData apparently duplicate files will create any type of system instability.  Thank you in advance for solutions or suggestions available.

My laptop is upward lately since January 3, 2015 and a startup displays message - Windows Script Host cannot find script 'C:\Users\Shootea\AppData\Local\Microsoft\CDBurning\desktop.ini' file - I google a couple of information how do I get rid of it. I tried to open msconfig and then disabled under Startup in the Configuration of the system. 'Normal Start Up' is selected in the general tab slot. I'm probably not explaining my problem fairly - well, I scanned something in - I used Nuance Paperport.  I have it attached to an email and sent to six people - including myself.  I always open the attached file to make sure that the computer has sent the right thing.  When I tried to open the attachment I got the message "cannot open the file - I have already sent you."  I think that Norton Security got rid of the file I need.  I think I will contact them.  I tried to contact Nuance - but alas, my warranty has expired, so no help there unless I want to pay for it.  If I can't have the problem solved through Norton, I will contact you again.  Thank you very much for taking the time to try to help me.  Have a great Thanksgiving action!

Your explanation was nice... that was my answer that failed.

I was hoping that you would simply copy the scan of your temporary
Internet files folder and paste it on your desktop. Then you might
evaluate what is the problem. I thought that trying to open
with such a long way email could be a problem. And also... it's possible
be a file association problem. And it could be a matter of file size.

I understand that you care why the attachment to the email
failure and I think you need to find what is the problem with the scan
    before fastening will be successful.

I just ran the scan again. He said of the errors found, but could not be repaired.

This problem actually has nothing to do with internet explorer. It's the cookies folder that is corrupt in the Windows folder in roaming. The error file is in conjunction with the programs, that I try to run (AIM, Skype, so forth). Trying to enter the folder it says it's corrupt. I don't know what is the root of the problems or how to solve this problem, but these measures have not helped so far. Regarding the repair, I will try that next.

Hi, I have problems on developing an image as a wallpaper on my laptop.

It comes up with 'The file that c:\users\daniel\appdata\roaming\microsoft\windows Photo Gallery\Windows Photo Gallery wallpaper.jpg could not be written.

I tried right click and do it the long way to go to appearance and personalization in the control panel in the start menu. None of these work and I wonder why it's happening.

my computer is Windows vista Home premium and is about half a year. If anyone knows how to solve the problem of it not allow me to set a background please give me suggestions.

    Dan

Treat it as a corrupted user file.  To fix this usehttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  Use the new administrator account to do this.  Follow the directions given and everything will be fine and your new admin account should work normally.  Once you have ccnfired you can access, to all your acccess all of your programs and files, you can delete the old user obsolete and corrupt.

That's all there is to it.  Now that we know, this is the profile and not the system, the solution has been set for us.

I hope this helps. Feel free to post back with any questions as you go along.

    Dear Sir.

I have windows 7 pro version installed on my desktop, seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM HARD drive, processor intel i5 4 GB RAM. This is not necessary, but I am announcing the details of the hardware. My query is that I used previously to be able to access the hidden files on my C drive, now I am not able to access. I need to access microsoft outlook data files (I have outlook 2010 microsoft) installed, so that I could run synch outlook pst. I put long back a check box in the folder options to enable me to see hidden system files, but yet I'm not able to access to the. My user account is an administrator account. However, these files are accessible by software goodsync synchronizes those files to another drive on the same HARD drive. I wonder if goodsync locked these files. I do not because I was able to access before. I also created the account administrator by default in windows, if it works, and connect you under this account did not help.

There are different reasons for this.  I suspect malware as the first possibility and suggests to try several of these free antimalware scans to exclude it: http://www.carrona.org/malware.html

Since you don't have the time to spend on a large number of repairs, I suggest trying an another Copier files to see if it works (instead of Windows Explorer).  I had success with TeraCopy - but don't the have not used in the last year or two.  It's free here: http://codesector.com/teracopy

Another thing to try is a replacement of the Explorer program.  Here are the results of a search: http://www.bing.com/search?q=explorer+replacement&qs=n&form=QBLH&pq=explorer+replacement&sc=8-20&sp=-1&sk=
