Click-Mini satellite L9W - B - Linux installation issues

Hello

I try to install linux on a toshiba mini-click L9W - B. Since I was able to boot with the USB (UEFI only) I've got trouble finding drivers to be able to use the card Wifi and the keyboard Dock.

Ony 8.2 debian is able to start with a touchscreen to work but without network...

Is anyone have positive results in the deployment of linux on toshiba mini-click L9W - B? Any working linux distribution?

Thank you
Best regards, Freddy.

Given that I have no answer, I will publish my own test results here:

From my own tests with toshiba mini click, you'll be able start vfat usb key with a well formatted starting efi directory and file (/ efi in your USB). BIOS even in version 5.10 can't start legacy.

8.1 32-bit Windows usb Windows 8.1 build key is able to start on click mini (ntfs file system) and 64-bit Windows usb key build of Windows 8.1 8.1 64-bit does not start on click mini. I suspect, that chat on the forum of the EU of toshiba, toshiba mini click bios to start using 32-bit efi startup plans on efi/boot/bootia32.efi.

Here's a way to start any distro of linux of your mini click using a usb key with the vfat file system:
1 - try to boot with a USB stick to gparted (vfat file system)
2. get the boot efi files / (including a grub.cfg file)
3. use the directory/boot/efi on the new USB that you create, you have managed to boot linux change efi/boot/grub.cfg.

Try Manjaro (ArchLinux) distribution, this distribution has the best material of support right here. 15.04 - Ubuntu or Debian - 8.2 may work in some time, always missing drivers in the installation process.

If a silencer, you will have with 11 and do not use parameters support

    defined in the answer file

    SECURITY_UPDATES_VIA_MYORACLESUPPORT = FALSE
    DECLINE_SECURITY_UPDATES = TRUE

and at least you get the warnings should be ignored.

  • Satellite Click Mini L9W - keyboard not recognized B

    Hello

I have a problem with my Tablet PC Satellite click Mini L9W - B. The keyboard is not recognized on this subject.

I tried to clean the connector, restart the Tablet several times, tried to load with or whitout the keyboard, but nothing works!
I do not think that the problem is with the battery, as I've seen on other topics as the tablet doesn't detect even the keyboard when I plug. The Tablet does not detect the keyboard battery.

So, if you can give me advice or assistance to solve my problem, I would appreciate :-)

He has no communication with the keyboard at all? (No battery detected, the touch pad and the keyboard does not?) There must be a link related question, I guess. If it was a driver related issue, then the battery would at least get detected)

If you want to void your warranty, you can open the Tablet and keyboard dock and check that the Ribbon connectors or / and remove and replace the Ribbon connectors connectors in

  • Will not feed satellite click Mini L9W - B

It would wake mode not sleep on this second day, yesterday - I left load overnight and today it won't start any upward

    answers here
no response from technical support, so I read further discussion...

    (1) he had a problem with loading on this model, some people have found that Bios 1.7 update fixes the battery problem
so, I found on my trusty old laptop and downloaded to a memory stick

    (2) another thread here suggests that the tablet of this model of load part and then it starts without the keyboard - after a long charge it worked, so I downloaded the update to the Bios of my memory stick

now I'm writing this on my mini click and wait to see if the update has fixed the problem

If yo have any ideas, suggestions or solutions please let me know here - I can't say that this is resolved until I ran down the batteries several times, so again, I will post in this thread

  • Satellite click Mini L9W - b: Touchpad is reversed in Windows 10

    Hello

I've updated my Mini click for Windows 10. I encountered a problem where sometimes my touchpad does not work correctly. Rather than make the pointer up and down when you are prompted, the pointer will go left and right. When you perform the movement to pass the pointer to the left and right, it goes up and down. To avoid the problem, I connect a mouse or use the touchscreen, but it is still quite annoying.

After the click mini boot, this appears to be 50% of the time... I guess it's a software problem. Is there a solution? Is this a known issue?

    See you soon,.

    Hello

Windows 10 supports some additional features.

Under settings-> tablet mode, you would find the POWER option in order to make Windows easier to hit when using the unit as a tablet.

Check if this option is enabled.

  • Using both Ethernet and load Satellite click Mini L9W - B

    Hello

Click mini had a micro USB port and a full size one on the keyboard

    I prefer ethernet wifi

I have an adapter that converts ethernet USB mic, but then I can't load through the same socket.

    Is there an alternative?

    Thank you!

    not really.

There is nothing wrong with wifi speeds, 54 Mbps is more that enough, if it's slow on wifi it isn't a problem with wifi.

  • Satellite click Mini L9W - B won't turn on at all

Hey, I bought a mini satellite three weeks ago and until today, he has worked enough... I had been load all day. And would he move occasionally to check billed to the second battery. Note, unfortunately, that it will not not turn on at all. Anyone else have this problem or know where I can send it for repair?

I have found that sometimes one must hold the power button for more than 5 seconds to turn on. I held down until you see the screen backlight lights up weakly. A quick press indicates the charge level.

  • Satellite click Mini L9W - B - lost after update Win 10 software

    Hello.

I upgraded my Windows 10 click Mini as soon as I got it yesterday.

Everything seemed fine until I restarted and it would not start, there was a problem with the drive of the declaration.

Finally, after having used the keylogger to unlock the drive, I have reset the machine (asking to keep my files and it reinstalled Windows 10 but I seem to have lost Toshiba programs that were out there.)

They do not appear in the list of programs.

Is it possible to recover without restoring unity to Windows 8.1 in the recovery and then put back Win 10 on.
    Took hours.

    Thanks for any help.
    Doug

If you have checked the option 'keep my files' Windows 10 would still remove applications and settings but it maintains your personal files, such as images, mp3, movies, docs, etc.

    Hello

One way would be to start the Firefox Profile Manager in each Linux instance and that it points to a profile of another Firefox installation folder, preferably one that has been customized in a satisfactory manner. You can then delete the profile by default in every Linux installation.

  • Satellite L500-128 - new installation of Windows 7 64 bit

Hello guys. I want to do a few questions

I have windows vista in my laptop and I want to do a clean install with windows 7 64 bit. I noticed the drivers are ok in the site. So here's my questions

    (a) do I have to remove the hidden restore partition or not? (configuration eisa if I remember correct)

    (b) I got 4 dvds with the toshiba recovery disk creator. If I erase each partition in the laptop how to restore my DVD? With a program in Windows or just setting the bios to boot from DVD, then the procedure is automatic? What's the first bootable dvd?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English

    Hello

one) of course, you can remove this hidden WinRE partition. If you have installed a new/other OS, this partition is useless.

    (b) you on the right. To restore the Toshiba Recovery disk factory settings you must boot from the disks. The first disc is bootable and you can boot from the installation. This happens automatically, only a few clicks are needed to confirm the installation and to create user accounts, etc.. Pretty easy and all the drivers and tools are installed too! :)

  • Tecra S3 RAID-0, the Linux installer does not recognize the hard drive

    Hello

I've been googleling much and the only one I found is a post on this forum: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=8758

I have the same problem, the RAID controller is not recognized by one of the distributions of linux in circulation, and so the hard drive is not recognized, so the linux installation is not possible. I tried FC7 and SUSE9. Due to the demands of work, I need to install FC7.

If there is no driver available for linux, it is possible to disable the RAID controller on the laptop? If so, is that someone could put a guide of how do, or send me to a good link on the subject?

    Thank you
    Alex

You will be very happy if someone with S3 and Linux will write here. Until you wait for the check you must fill the pages of Linux support:
    http://Linux.Toshiba-DME.co.jp/Linux/index.htm
    http://newsletter.toshiba-tro.de/main/index.html

Maybe you will find some info here.
