Click on tools, options, and choices appear. Why

Firefox 35.0.1.

When I chick tools, Options, I get the pop-up window but it is empty. That's happened?

The extension of Ghostery reported that causes this problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

• Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
• Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

What's new on: preferences page has replaced the previously used stand-alone Options/preferences window.

You can enable/disable browser.preferences.inContent false on the topic: page config to restore the autonomous Options/preferences window you had in previous versions of Firefox.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

• 36.04 FF when I click on tools/options, options do not come up. Options search engine developed instead.

When I click on Tools/Options in 36.4 FF, it evokes rather than options search engines. How can I bring options to change preferences? I use Windows 7 Home Premium.

I discovered the real cause of the problem. If the task bar is not hidden at the bottom of the page, then the window options of not fully displayed. Fell off the top with the tabs. I had to hide the taskbar. Thank you.

LOL - I just find it has shortened F4 to show/hide the xD Tool Options
Overall I have disabled "Auto Show Tool Options" option and use F4... Thanks Adobe you have not left it without no solution!

And have you tried F5? You will soon use the F4 and F5 to clear your display

• Firefox crashes when you click Tools - Options and trying to download images.

On a website that I visit when I try to upload an image, Firefox hangs and must be restarted. I did some research and tried all solutions but none worked.

When I open Internet Explorer, the download works fine. It's only Firefox that has this problem.

What have you tried so far?

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file, see:

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

• Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file
• When I click on tools, Options, the screen freezes

Any Web site I'm on, when I click Tools and then click Options, Firefox crashes. I can't update, I can't close the tab, I can't close the browser session. The session does not close when I click on the Firefox icon in the start bar and click Close window. The only way to get the browser to close is Ctrl + Alt + Delete and end of the task (which always shows that it "turns"). I waited as long as 5 minutes so that the browser Refresh or Close and nothing happens.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them are .html, .ini and .js, .txt, so you can see only file name without the file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

• How can I change where firefox stores your downloads? I changed location in tools/options and did a reset firefox, but none of them work

Please help if you can!

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupt downloaded files or otherwise interferes.

Try disabling analysis in real time (live) files in your software anti-virus temporarily to see if that makes working download.

See:

• My tools > Options, history, etc. popups are all reduced to a minimum and I can't access it.

I click on tools > Options and I get a window with only the title and the close (X) button. There is no way for me to expand the pop-up window.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately even following information of cor - el does not clear the problem. I just uninstalled Firefox completely removed the appdata folder and reinstall a new version. Is no longer a problem.

• 8.6.1 HELP and TOOLS-> OPTIONS does not

Hi, after installing 8.6.1 I am not able to access using any function except on the functions of the package tools. The help context works, but there is no detailed help (with the exception of the Toolbox functions). If I access it using LabVIEW, the window displays the tree on the right, but when I click on any of the elements without help appears in the right window.

Also when I click on tools-> options \_launchhelp.vi which he never finds he's looking for, so I can't change the options of LabVIEW is.

I installed using the DVD Developer Suite, I don't think that there is an explicit option to select Help. I have installed at D:\program files, would it be a problem if you do not install in C:?

I uninstalled previous versions before installing 8.6.1.

Any ideas?

Hello

It seems that you are installing to corrupt and to a certain extent.

You can repair you are setup by going to: Control Panel-> software-> of National Instruments. Then you get a dialog box in which you can select LabVIEW 8.6.1 and REPAIR.

If it still does not work, you can always contact your local sales office for support.

• How can I force tools | Options to open a window pop up instead of a new tab?

I use Firefox on a desktop computer, not a mobile device. A previous question and answer solved my problem before the update for Firefox 42, but this solution no longer works.

As of today, when I click on Tools / Options, it will open in a new TAB. I want the window options quick return, how can I do this? < <

Now about: config, affecting < browser.preferences.advanced.selectedTabIndex > < false > does not open a popup window, but rather a new tab.

The browser.preferences.inContent is no longer supported in Firefox 42 and later (bug 1140495), is not possible to open an independent window by setting this pref to false.

Optionally, create a button on the toolbar of bookmarks for the subject: preferences and hold the Shift key and left click to open the page in a new window.

You can watch the extension Classic theme restaurateur.

• General UI (1): The options Page (topic: preferences) in a window

If that doesn't work or the choice is missing then you may be using a theme that is not supported.
You can check that by opting for the default theme.

• The ability to change my current page to my homepage under TOOLS/OPTIONS disappeared. How can I get that back?

I updated Adobe Media PLayer, ensuring that I have all the toolbars adding optional and anti - virus did not allow apps. Then after that YAHOO has become my start page. I went to change it under TOOLS/OPTIONS, and option set to make the page my homepage is annihilated, not there, does not exist. Where it's going and how do I get it back? I have run a business of selling online and you have to press the HOME button throughout the day to look for commands.

Hi JoeSeadog, extensions can change the dialog box. Try turning off all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

• CTRL + SHIFT + a
• Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off. (Or if there are of course badware/useless, delete).

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Any improvement?

• I delete all cookies. Irepeat tools/options/life private / show cookies. they all return

I click on tools/options/privacy / show cookies. I delete all cookies and click on OK.
I repeat the process to display the cookies. They're all here.
Also I can not delete single cookies

You may have installed an extension like TACO (Abine) or do not Track Plus that manages a set of OPT-OUT cookies if you can't delete cookies permanently.

In this case, you will need to uninstall the extension to remove the opt-out cookies.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

• Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

If clearing cookies doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

• Clean install on Windows 7 SP1 x 64. Tools / Options-> AppHangB1

I use Firefox for years, but I can't find a way to work around this problem. The problem started after I upgraded to v38.0.5 but I tried to go back to v35.0 and it has not solved the problem. I tried the safe mode and finally uninstalled, delete Mozilla registry entries and performed a clean installation. I am still unable to view the options.

As soon as I click on Tools / Options menu I get an AppHangB1. Initially, the problem manifests itself by trying to add attachments in Gmail. A large part of the browser works, I write this problem in Firefox, but some actions cause the browser to hang. The easiest to reproduce is Tools / Options, the showshopper will not be able to upload / download files.

I hope someone knows how I can get firefox to work again. I am running without the extensions, just a clean install.

• How can I stop firefox from opening a tab in Tools/Options

Firefox 38.0.1

Suddenly instead of an open box now I have an open tab when I go in Tools/Options - how can I recover the box and the aperture stop tab, I'd rather be able to see my tab running below the box in Tools/Options, and now I can't. This makes things very difficult.

Hi, FredMcD advice is what you need: you can return to the old window Options by: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.preferences.inContent and double-click on it to change the "value" from true to False, taking care to not to change what anyone else. You will then need to restart Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Firefox will remember the default passwords. You may have turned this feature off, or told Firefox to never remember passwords for a particular site.

. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Tools menu and select Options.

HOWEVER, the button "Remember passwords for sites" is blocked.

Note that you have also switched on the keyboard navigation: accessibility.browsewithcaret = True

You can enable or disable this setting power through F7.
