Clicked a bad link from my hotmail account
I received an email from someone I know which contained a link to a site on sites.google.com and I clicked it. I've seen ads about viagra etc on this link and then I talked to the sender. She told me that his PC was infected and his e-mail account had been hacked, so the email has not been sent by him.
I immediately changed my password to my hotmail account and scanned my PC (with F-Prot) that returns nothing. Is this enough? I remember reading on the news about a lady by clicking on a link in his email and later on his pirate in bank account. I use my PC for online banking and sensitive information on my hotmail account, so I just wanted to be sure. Thank you very much!
No, it is not enough. Be more proactive and at least go through the preparatory work and scan with MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware, as described here:

Help! Whenever I send an email from my Hotmail account I get a message that the WebKit2WebProcess, exe has stopped working and the program closes and opens again, then - why? Maybe what I need to do, it is to disable and depend on my protection to protect my computer from viruses. In one, even if this is very frustrating!

Adblock Plus is originally an extra window open when I click on a link from Apple Mail.
When I click on a link from Apple Mail, an (empty) additional window opens. The problem seems to be related with Adblock Plus, because it happens when Adblock Plus is removed. Problem, all started yesterday (7/29).
This only happens with AdBlock? Very strange. AdBlock to block pop-ups.
Is there anything in the address of this window box?
It's on a website, several? -
Newbie question: outlook express deletes messages from my hotmail account?
I have several acouts hotmail. I want to start using Outlook Express (or Eudora or other) as my email on my PC client but want full access to my emails on remote PCs via Explorer. Outlook Express will download all the messages in my Inbox in? Will he disappear from my hotmail account? Or is he just leave my only hotmail accounts?
You can access your Hotmail mailbox by using a POP account in Outlook Express and, Yes, unless you configure the account to leave messages on the server, it will remove them from the Inbox when it downloads, as well as all appropriate POP clients. Simply set up the account in order to leave them on the server. It will be on the Advanced tab of the account properties. See this: http://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=99d4b13d-13db-40d8-9cdf-172002d4194c
Also, remember that access to a POP mailbox has no notion of folders. Only what is in the Inbox will be visible to any client POP, whatever you use.

Search in the start menu displays old emails from my Hotmail account. I find it tiresome and very secure as anyone who uses my computer can read my emails. I guess my computer is somehow related to my Windows Live account. I did a search for these emails in my Hotmail account and they don't even exist.
How can I go to stop this? I tried to look in the Windows Live options but couldn't find anything. Thank you
These files are probably within your e-mail program on your computer (for example, Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird or another program).
You can turn off the messages to appear in the search results, but anyone could still just open your e-mail program and snooping. The only way to be really sure is to use a password on your computer and let other people use a guest account (or make their own account). -

Try to manually configure the DNS servers in the network card settings (guide: http://www.plus.net/support/software/dns/changing-dns-windows-8.shtml).It fixed the problem for me.Apparently it has something to do with the reuter incorrectly redirect DNS queries (I use D-Link). -

I have configured my Hotmail account with POP server to see my email in Thunderbird. When you set up the account, I have accidentally unchecked leave messages on the server on the server configuration option. The following days, I saw more than 2000 email disappearing from my Web server! How can I download their return?
Thank you very much
MartinIt is usual, but not absolutely necessary, for the emails to download from the server to the TB Inbox e-mail account and then delete them from the server.
I personally, clear all but the last 30 days on the server, whereas between my monthly backup and emails on the server, I was able to recover most, if not all the mail loss.
You could get the emails on the server, but you will notice that all dates seem to change the date when you put them back on the server.
