  • Prevent the display of switching when the laptop lid is closed?

    Hello

I am looking for a way to prevent the display of switching when I close the lid of my laptop. On my old laptop, Windows XP, I could open the cover while watching a movie on a secondary antibody (TV) to display for example to check something on the web on the laptop screen - displays remained as they were. But under Vista, whenever I get close or open the cover, screen goes on television and laptop as a result and the whole process takes some time. This behavior remains the same even after the deactivation of TMM in Vista.
Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    SOLUTION VERY SIMPLE:

    1. open Device Manager
    2. in "System devices" find "ACPI lid"
3 open the properties for "ACPI lid" and go to the tab "driver".
    4. Select "Update driver".
    5. Select 'Browse my computer for driver software' and 'Let Me pick "...
    Uncheck the "Show compatible hardware".
6 and now, 'Manufacturer' select "(Standard système truc) ' and model:"
'Volume manager' (Yes, 'Manager of Volume')
    7. then, then restart the system and it works!

    > When I closed the lid

The laptop goes into hibernation or standby mode once the lid has been closed or just the screen turns off?

I'm not quite sure if its really a problem of display driver.
    Other FN keys work correctly?

It seems that the C855-1CH Satellite was sold without any preinstalled system and looks that you have installed the Win 7 64 bit in your own hand.
Were all Win 7 drivers as properly installed VAP?

What is the BIOS? Is up to date? If this is not the case, try to update.

  • Satellite L500 - external screen display after closing the lid?

    Hello
I use the Satellite L500 - 120 Notebook, and before installing Windows 7, the laptop has a function very uncomfortable, when I applied an external display.
When I closed the lid of my laptop, Office was shown on my display (with the native resolution of the external display) external, so I had not to
change anything on the control panel. In Windows 7, Miss me this feature. I already tried to use the Control Panel, but there is no parameters, which fits
with the previous ones. I can duplicate the screen in order to see my desktop screen on my external screen, but with the resolution of 1366 x 768 laptop.
If I extend the views, then there is only the background image to the external screen, but this time with the native resolution.

So my question is, how to conifgure Windows to recognize that I closed the lid, and the screen should be shown on my external screen?
Or should I install applications Toshiba, that I had before, who visited account this function?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

I m not a Windows 7 user because I want to wait until it will be released official, but I hope that I can help you a bit:

First of all in power management, you can choose the action that happens if you close the lid (g. e. sleep, close, etc.). This action must be disabled because otherwise the laptop shuts down or something else.

So I think that you need to install the display driver for your laptop. You can try the Vista driver because most of them are working on Windows 7.
Then you should be able to define the correct screen resolution for external monitor.

A working display driver is important to the clone or extends monitors to verify this!

  • HP-17-F113dx: notebook not to resume after having closed the lid.

    Hello

    I have a HP Pavilion laptop 'HP-17-F113dx.

It does not repeat the operation after you close the lid.

I have to restart the computer to make it work again.

What is the driver for this problem?

    @alexanderhernan

Thanks for joining the HP Forums.
I'll be happy to help you

As I understand it the laptop is not take over onscreen once his COVER is closed.

Don't worry, however, as I have a few steps to help solve this problem,

Let's start by disabling hybrid sleep: click here to see a YouTube with a step by step guide.

For the steps and details on how to control what your COVER:

In the Power Options window that opens, click the link to Choose closing the cover on the left sidebar.

Here you can choose what your power of the buttons on your computer, as well as what happens when you close the lid.
You can choose to do nothing, sleep, Hibernateor shut down.  In general, sleep is a good option, but if you leave your laptop running, select do nothing.

Note that you can change the settings for a cell and sector, so your laptop works differently when you use mobile compared to when you are connected to your office.
Given that we usually only would want to let our laptop running when it's plugged in, we put ours to always go to sleep when it's on battery power, but to do nothing when you close the lid while it is plugged in.  Very convenient.

Below, you will notice a few additional parameters, but they are protected by default.  Click change settings that are currently unavailable for editing.

Now you can choose if you want that your computer requires password when he wakes fashion 'sleep'.

Once you are finished, click Save at the bottom to start to use your new settings.
If you want to come back when you're on the move again, just repeat the steps and set it as you like.
Now, you are in full control of what happens when you close your laptop.

I would like to know if these measures worked for you.  If they did, it's great!  Give us some reinforcements by clicking on the solution and laurels, buttons that help and others see that we have the answers!
    Good luck.

  • SP U400 - cannot return to the desktop after entering in the mode 'sleep' by closing the lid

Satellite Pro U400 V-11 I used for a week. I don't know if this is a problem or I did something wrong. My setting of closing the lid is recording mode "Eve" in Vista.

When I close the lid and open a few minutes later it's ok, I see the password login screen. But if the computer is in "sleep" for a while it does not return to the office when I lift the lid. The screen is black. Fan started working then quiet several times.

The first three LEDs on the left are green. Keyboard does not respond. And also switch / stop does not work either I press once on or hold it. And only after I unplug the power adapter and press the power, it works. But it restarts the system and Windows could not close correctly the error message is displayed.

Is this normal or something wrong with the mode 'sleep'?
    Thank you

    Hello

I read on some of the similar problems regarding "standby" mode and the black screen.
Someone suggested to update the BIOS and the display driver

So I highly recommend it too much
See the European driver of Toshiba page, choose the model right for laptop and try to update the BIOS, then the display driver.

Reboot the laptop and see if the problem still occurs.

    Good luck

  • Tecra M7: Tablet does not work after closing the lid

Someone had problems with the Tablet does not work after closing the lid on a Tecra M7? BIOS is 3.20

Does not happen on hibernate or sleep.
I have the set cover to do nothing on close.

    Hello

What do you with Tablet does not work after closing the lid?
Is - what the laptop freezes or what? What happens exactly?

Closing the parameters adjustable lid to Hibernate or standby mode or no action.
These settings can be defined in configuration power saver actions.

If you have some problems with some Toshiba applications installed, I recommend you to reinstall the program and TOSHIBA common Modules that doesn t work properly!

  • Tecra 9100: Sleep Mode is no longer enabled after closing the lid

    Hello

First post here and not the smartest when it comes to computer skills...

Have a Tecra 9100 about 4 years old, under XP Pro SP2.

last 3 days whenever I close the lid of the laptop it won't STAND BY mode me leaving no option but to propel to the top and I get "SUMMARY FAILURE PRESS ANY KEY."... »

I changed any settings whatsover and since then, I tried to access the Power Saver icon in Control Panel, but when I click on it nothing happens. I then click on a few of the Control Panel Power Options and I get the message "...". "a Microsoft power options and use the Toshiba power Saver saver" which obviously I can't access either!

Is there any reason why closing the lid of my laptop is no longer 'Stand by' mode, basically going in OFF format only, it became a major drawback and don't know where to turn to.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Reading your post I guess windows on own power options and doesn t use Toshiba power saver power profiles.

Generally, the issue should be resolved by switch again to the Toshiba power saver in the-> power options control panel! But your announcement about turning the power on, it is not possible! It s very strange?  :|

In this case, I recommend to remove the Toshiba installation energy saver. This can be done in the Add & Remove programs.

So finally, check out the following steps:
Remove the energy saver, restart the laptop, reinstall the Toshiba Common modules, reboot the laptop and install again the energy saver.

After this procedure, the splash screen should work! By the way; the hibernation mode is disabled by default. If you want to use the Hibernate mode, you will need to enable it first!

  • V570 "cracked" display after having closed the lid

This laptop comes with a glossy screen... It is not the glass which is cracked, but the screen behind the glass. Laptop a few months, never fallen, never traveled with, etc. No water damage... has not been closed with something between the screen and keyboard... Is - it never covered by warranty? Literally, I closed the screen and is gone in another room... when I came back a few minutes later and lifted the lid of that screen had a cobweb crack down very close to downtown... some cracks spread over the entire screen causing a giant dark upside triangle... the box is left blurred and the small area on the right you can see the screen a bit correctly. Ive been infatuated with this laptop... Always keep it in the same place (I use my phone if you travel) but I am baffled by this. Ive met someone else who had the same problem with this model via google search. Reminds me of all the problems that motorola had with its phone screens in Rabat because of the way they have been mounted. All hope of warranty or do I just replace the screen? Sorry for the bad formatting... phone did not work with rich text editor.

  • Two monitors - keep extended mode when the lid of the laptop

original title: two monitors, in "extended" mode - computer cover laptop shutdown problem

I want to be able to close the lid of my laptop, and do NOT have any video single monitor mode.
I want to work as if I was turning in a configuration of monitor monitors two off. Nothing moves, nothing recalibrates, and she's not back on a laptop with a single connected monitor.

    Any ideas?

What is it in a Dock or simply extended with the video output? If it's just expert panel, you can change the behavior of the 'status quo' power management when you close the lid.

If it comes in a Dock, it is as expected since it will divert the attention of any screen is available when the lid is closed.
