closing programs

I have a HP pavilion g7 w/windows 8. How to close programs that I watched without shutting down the computer?

If you're referring to Metro apps, enter at the top of the screen with the mouse cursor and drag down or press Alt + F4 on your keyboard.

Note that, when you switch from the app, the app is suspended (and, therefore, time processor taking notes) and will be killed by the operating system if more resources are needed.

    Hello

What you specify is called list of the UPM (most frequently used programs list). The MFU list appears under the list of favorites on the Startmenu. This list tracks the frequency programs are used and displays them in order of the most used (on top) to least used (bottom).
What exactly is your problem? This list is not displayed any program? or it shows some programs that have been used but does not add new programs to the list?
    Possible solutions:

1.right - click on the Start Menu and select Properties. Under the Start Menu tab, click the Customize button. under the tab general , in the program section to ensure that the 'number of programs at startup' is not set to 0. If your required number is already set, then clear the list by clicking the clear list button. Now open some of your programs and check if the MFU list now programs or not.

  • While closing, programs are pending and that I still have programs that are running, but actually I don't

    Hello

I close all programs and then I closed my laptop but I see message programs are pending and that I still have programs that run, but actually I did not! I close all! and then after a few seconds it just stops himself well. In my view, there is a problem, why I see this message?

This time, when I stopped my laptop a blue screen appeared saying windows is recovering from an unexpected shutdown. This was not unexpected at all, I closed all programs and all just stop it!

From elsewhere when I press ctrl + alt + del and start the Task Manager I see not all programs that are running.

    It's a windows 7 64.

I see message waiting programs so that I still have programs that run, but actually I did not!

Actually closing manually request does not mean that it is not running

Some of the startup item typically run in the background

There is no additional work Windows doesn't do, what application you are running is to show

All you can do is try to disable all start once and go to the service tab and select below "hide all Microsoft services and disable and to apply, it will ask the start/stop and see same problem is happening or not."

Press win + r > type "msconfig" and enter and click on start and select Disable all and restart

  • Dreamweaver CC 2015 is buggy - crashes when closing program. Can I revert to a previous version?

When closing Dreamweaver CC 2015, it goes into the eternal spinning wheel and takes several minutes to finally react. I still have my files first close, then close the program. Now, after the closure of my files, I go to my task manager and just kill Dreamweaver. In addition, the updated Acrobat DC update version is also buggy. Just click on a pdf file and an error pops up that Acrobat has crashed - and I wasn't even in the running. Is there anyway that I can go back to previous versions? I'm really tired of buggy programs.

  • Adobe processes continue to run after closing program!

    Hello

I have this problem with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, and hearing, but not with Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.

Whenever I close one of these programs, the respective process continues to run in the background.

I can't restart the program until I go into the Task Manager and kill the process (AfterFX.exe, Adobe first Pro.exe, pproheadless.exe)

I already tried cleaning with the cleaning tool to uninstall and reinstall but the problem remains.

I encountered this problem a few months after a long break from Adobe.

    Never had any problems before.

I cloned my complete system with Acronis on a new SSD a few months ago...

don't you remember anything else with a lot of impact that could have triggered it.

    System: Win7 x 64

    Software: Adobe CC

I found the Solution (for me at least)

It seems to be a driver problem with the 600 series of nvidia graphics cards.

I installed the old driver for my GTX 680 and everything works fine now (some newer drivers might also work)

I'll write an e-mail in support of Nvidia and tell them what happened, pls do the same if you found the solution because of this post and

upcoming drivers going to work well for us once again.

    Best regards

I can solve this? Really, it of annoying, makes it incredibly frustrating to change if I'll use the captions. And I want to do.

  • Windows stay open when the program is closed

I have an intermittent problem that is becoming more and more regular

When I close a program window remains on the screen

I can open other programs then when I close them that their windows remain at the top

Yesterday during one of these events, I opened Solitaire and drag the window to the middle of the screen, but he left a picture behind where he had opened

I could play the game without any problems, but when I closed it the window remained on the screen.

From what I see this is just the part of windows that clears the screen back to the office after a closing program that stops working.

I had another suggestion to try another graphics card

So I did and went for an upgrade at the same time

So far, the problem (touch wood) is not re-appeared

The old radiator of cards has been enough good folk so this may or may not have something to do with it.

If I never use this graphics card in another machine and get the same problem I know then what it was.

  • XPSp3: Logging disable a user to log on to the other - stop programs?

I have two users on XPSp3.  Both are administrator-level.  I wanted to disconnect a user and connect to each other and got the warning that unsaved work will be lost.

Is it just open the files that are closed?  Done also closed programs or the whe switch you users?

    Ed

When you disconnect a user, all programs started by this user have been completed.

However, there is a feature called 'Fast user change' which allows you to switch from one user to another without logging the first user... so all programs that are running with the first user are kept in their current state, while the second user can start and run their own programs.   Refer to the following Microsoft KB article:

  • Can't open some programs due to the DEP.

Hello! I tried to open programs like iTunes and Fine Pix Viewer on my PC (Windows Vista home premium 64-bit) and I can not anymore. He used to work before, but in recent months it doesn't.
Help me please, once I have no idea what to do.
The following message appears: "(nom dele de programme) has stopped working." A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "And then:"to help protect your computer, Data Execution Prevention has closed (program name). Click to learn more» Then I follow the instructions and try to turn off DEP for the specific program and pops up this message: "Data Execution Prevention - this program must run with data execution prevention (DEP) enabled." You can't turn off DEP for this program.

    Hello

The problem might actually be an add-on or another program to the origin of the problem and you should check that
    1st.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it
machines, including those that you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - reset all Zones by default level - apply / OK

    not better?

Try IE or IE with no Addons

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question. (Toolbars are BHO)

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware, and that would be unusual with
Prevx running except a low occasional (not much), updated cookie, and then run it as a scanner.

    I would add prevx so.

Prevx - Home - small, fast, exceptional CLOUD free protection, working with other security programs. It comes
a scan only, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something to come back here or use Google to see how to remove.
