CMOS update for HP Pavilion e9260f PC

I have a windows 7 recovery disc installation problem after replacing the hard drive. The reason seems to be that the bios is outdated. All boards

Hi jaco1x4

Thank you for your emails

I tried this:

Win 7 Home Premium (media refresh SP1) 64-bit. ISO is the download you need. Try it. Approach ISO but see below.

It worked, but after restart came with a black screen, had to find the drivers for the monitor and the graphics card. I send you this mail to the Pavilion. Now I have a partion without a factory restore. Found a youtube explaining the beginning of the installation ISO

everything works again

Thank you much for the help

    Hello

First of all, without changing the processor, it is unnecessary to add a gpu as new custom games run without a quad core... in this regard, your motherboard limit strongly desired that it will support only the processor upgrades.

Any form factor of 2.5 in SATA SSD will work and I recommend a Samsung Evo 850.

There is a link for all sizes available on the page. I recommend that at least a 256 and 500 are quite affordable nowadays.

Where do you live? Country only, please. I heard that HP Service centers will perform memory and SSD upgrades on these 'closed' systems but I don't know where all of them or what they would charge. You should be able to find a competent local computer shop to do. It does not put security at risk, but the warranty is not revoked if the work is done properly, without damage to the laptop.

  • Update for HP Pavilion Slimline s5260in

I wanted to update the pc for gaming.

After reading this slimline pc are not intended to be updated I decided to see if I can create a new rig.

So I want a new graphics card, wardrobe and power supply in a budget of Rs.15000.

    Please suggest something

AB, the Cooler Master case is very good.  The only problem I can think of would be the connection for the power button.  Apart from that, it should work fine.

Corsair, as I said, is great.  He will do a great job for you.  I would get at least 550W.  This will give you many choices of video cards.

The video card in the link I provided would be a good choice.  However, here's a XFX HD 5770 that should fit without a problem, too.  It's the same length (8.5 in).

Regarding the price, I honestly have no idea what these components will cost in India.  I live in the United States and have never been there.  You can see what are the prices on the items that I have provided, so that you know what would be a comparable price.

I'm always skeptical about recommend components without being able to see the build, but another case, I believe that everything will be fine.

  • HP Pavilion 15 not: SSD update for HP Pavilion 15 laptop

    Hello!

I use PC HP Pavilion 15 Notebok (F6C42PA #ACJ). It came with Win 8.1 pre-installed on a 1 TB HARD drive. I updated the OS to win 10 and now upgrade my HDD to SSD. I was wondering if TS256GSSD370S Transcend and Samsung Evo 850 is compatible with my laptop. Also how to enable AHCI mode? I don't see such an option in the BIOS.

    Thank you.

15 - n203tx is the model. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The compartment access hard drive appears on p. 59. As you can see, it's a bit more involved.

Don't fall into the trap of overthink. The laptop is in ahci mode and you can not set otherwise. With Windows 10 an SSD will be automatically recognized as such and optimized. Your question only real tech is to get the software on the new SSD. After the back if you need some help with that.

The Samsung Evo 850 is my choice, but the Transcend would work too.

  • Updates for HP Pavilion p6667sc

Hello. First of all I would like to warn you about my lack of experience with computers

    I have a "HP Pavilion p6667sc" ( http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02546430 )

and I was wondering what upgrade opportunities I have. The processor socket is a version 1156, but all newer processors out there seems to be made for the socket 1155. I don't know what's the deal with the RAM and graphics card and the only upgrades that can be made there... Anyway, how is it? Would need a new motherboard to be able to make significant changes? (Or is it better to buy a new computer, if this would be the case?...)

Upgrade information is available on the link you posted to the p6667sc sheet.

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:

    Intel Core i7 - 8xx (Lynnfield core)

    Intel Core i5 - 7xx (Lynnfield core)

    Intel Core i5 - 6xx (Clarkdale core)

    Intel Core i3 - 5xx (Clarkdale core)

    NOTE: Frequency Maximum processor core<=>

    Upgrade memory information:

    Supports only DDR3 DIMM modules

    Dual channel memory architecture

Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)

    DIMM types:

    PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)

    PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered

Supports up to 16 GB on 64-bit operating system

NOTE: Memory Maximum only if you use DIMM DDR3 4 GB modules

Almost no matter what PCIe x 16 v2.0, v2.1 or maps 3.0 graphics with a minimum of 300 watts system power requirement or less. If you want to use a more powerful graphics card, you will need to replace the power supply as well.

  • Looking for a NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller Driver Update for HP Pavilion Elite e9140f

Hi, I added a second hardrive that is 3 TB and my desktop is running windows 7 with SP 1.  I have been informed by Acronis technical support I need to get an NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller update (I have version

NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller version 11.1.0.29 installed).  Can someone tell me what version I need update too and where to download?  Thank you!  Mark

The last driver from Chipset from nVidia for your computer is located on the nForce Chipset Driver Version 15.56 download page. This driver install NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller driver v11.1.0.43. This driver, however, isn't likely to solve your problem.

You will need to check that the hard drive is seen in BIOS until the computer will recognize the drive. You will need to run the Windows 'Disk management' console to partition the hard drive in at least two partitions, MBR or GPT partition before you can use the drive.

    Hello

I have a Pavilion dv6114tx laptop. I bought it in November 2006 in India. But I am currently in the United Kingdom. The laptop has had problems with the Lightscribe DVD/CD RW drive for a long time. Now, I'm looking to upgrade the laptop. I also read on the service of out-of-tenure at HP. If I go there to make a discount?

  • Updates for HP Pavilion m8156.sc

    Hello

I'm on an old HP Pavilion m8156.sc and I have never tried upgrading my motherboard or the CPU before.

These are the ones I use now (the original):

    Motherboard: ASUS M2N68-(Narra2)

    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5000 +.

That's what I think upgrade to:

    Motherboard: ASUS M4A87TD USB3 AM3 ATX

    CPU: AMD Phenom II X 6 1055 t.

My question is if they conflict with my current characteristics, for example with the frame or other components. All except the graphics card (nVidia GeForce GTX 260) from the original HP computer.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello

The big problem is that the PC m8156.sc has a motherbaord micro-ATX (9.6 by 9.6) and the motherboard that you are seen in not a card mother micro-ATX.  You would need to change the Council of Ministers for the ASUS motherboard.

I have a HP Pavilion g6-1d73us running Windows 7 Home Premium with Intel Core i3 2.30 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit OS and want to upgrade my wireless WiFi 802.11ac 802.11n wifi adapter so I can also change my modem & router to the new, faster standard. The current wifi adapter I have is Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapt. I studied the material on the internet and I think I want an Intel Wireless AC 7260 wifi adapter, but I don't know if it is compatible with my laptop. Could you please tell me what 802.11ac wireless card or adapter is compatible with my laptop or if I'm even able to upgrade that component. My computer works fine and has no problem. Thank you.

Sorry no. The computer HP laptop motherboard has a BIOS program that is configured to stop the boot process, if all the wireless but very specific cards is installed. In the case of your laptop, no adapter 802.11ac lies on the 'white list' to boot.

  • HP Pavilion a6519f: SSD update for HP Pavilion a6519f

I would like to install an ssd in this pc along side hard drive, but when I went to Best Buy and told the seller that I wanted to do and was asked what brand and how old my pc had I said that it was old and not worth it I'd be better off with a new pc. I want to know if this is true or not, since I did some research and saw the old pc with an installed ssd works like new.

    You are the very welcome.

Which is great news, your PC has a setting to AHCI controller.

Make sure that it is set to that before installing the SSD.

If you get an SSD that is large enough, you may be able to clone the hard disk, but if the speed control is set for what else the AHCI on your current drive, the cloned SSD does not start.

I clean all the operating systems installed on my SSD.

With 10 windows that it was easy to install from scratch because you don't need a key product once you had installed W10 previously and it has been activated.  Just click on the option "I don't have a product key" at the beginning of the script install W10.

So I just add the programs and files that I needed.  A took about 2-3 hours for each PC.

  • SSD update for HP Pavilion dv8338ea.

    Hi HP'ers!

Searched around with no luck. My father upgraded his laptop with an SSD, but I'm not sure if it's a PATA or SATA.

Although I can't find any information about the specs on the machine, the section of the driver revealed he want to "Intel Matrix Storage Manager", which, according to the text, is «...» Intel Serial ATA (SATA)... »

Also (assuming that its SATA) it would work with a 250SSD? Or the size will give problems with the bios etc.?

    Thanks guys = D

The dv8000 series began to have PATA drives, but at one point in the production, they began to install SATA drives. This can actually take 2 hard drives, like the dv9000 series later. The way to know if it's PATA or SATA is to open drive Bay. This is the original SATA (SATA I) but the most recent disks SATA-III will be downclock. There is also a BIOS upgrade that allows him to take Core2 Duo processor and I think also improves some other hardware features and may allow 4 GB of RAM.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-54801-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=228&product=1832444&sw_lang=

You must install this update of the BIOS in Windows XP or Vista... it does not work well if you have installed Windows 7.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

This manual presents the PATA drives. Look on Page 5-8. PATA drives have two rows of pins in brass, as shown in the manual. SATA drives have two black plastic L shaped plugs.

There is such a thing as a PATA SSD, but they cost a bit more per concert. HP never sold a lot of the dv8000 the information available here is a little sparse. They are very strong and robust machines however, and I still sometimes run through a service. With the GeForce Go 7600 graphics, it can easily run Windows 7 or 8 with active Aero.
