Code 8 with a corrupted hard drive?

I did an analysis of the utility disk system and returned with a corrupted hard drive that needs to be repaired. As well as a Code of 8.  What does that mean? Do I need a new hard drive? Or can it be fixed?

see this article and proceed according to Apple.

It is also strongly recommended that you back up the disk as soon as POSSIBLE if you do not want to replace.

I bought a new hard drive to add extra space since my first hard disk is only 60 GB.  I bought a Samsung HD161HJ with 160 GB.  As well my original and new hard drive is SATA hard drives.  I hooked it up and everything worked well for about a week.  Then, I woke up to find a message saying that my Samsung HD player has been altered and I had to restart my computer.

When I restarted the computer, the windows loading screen came on but then the black screen and nothing would happen.  I've decided to disable my SATA slot for the new disc corrupted in the system configuration, and then when I booted up everything was back to normal.  However, I want to have two drives connected and be able to boot windows to use special software for corrupted hard disks and try and solve the problem.  But every time I turn on the SATA slot for my new hard drive windows does not start.

I know that the SATA drives need riders to determine the master and the slave.  So what is the cause of problems with me start windows with a secondary corrupt drive?  My main drive includes all the data necessary to start. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you can try to borrow a disk since you only intend to test and should install with no internet connection
access. And since its XP, you can use your own product Code.

You had set them up properly when they were working. Something has happened since then, such
    like a drive failure.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello Vishal,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing.

If you purchased a computer with installed OEM Windows 8 on it, there could be a sticker on the Tower, or in the back (in the case of a laptop) with the product key to this topic. If there is no sticker, he can be preinstalled on your system BIOS.

  • Recovery disks do not work with the new hard drive?

    Hello, everyone.

I have a laptop HP (pavilion dv7-1245dx) and the hard drive is dead. I had never gotten to burn my recovery disks, so I ordered new ones from HP. When I installed the new hard drive and popped in the disk to reinstall the operating system, it gave me the error message:

"This PC is not supported by the system recovery discs. You can continue to recover this system with these discs. »

    Error code: 0100-30 FC-3602-3603

The original hard drive was a Hitachi, 320 GB SATA

The new hard drive is a WD 500 GB SATA

Any assistance anyone can give would be great. :]

    Thank you for your time,

EDIT: Trying to recover a Vista operating system

For anyone who has the same problem, I found a solution. I cloned the original hard drive using the Clonezilla fallback option. After using Clonezilla to image on the new hard disk, the partition which held that most of the data of the laptop is not mountable, however the partition containing the restore partition was a perfect copy. I turned on the computer, hit escape to access the menu (for a list of options such as boot order, etc, which included an option for recovery), and then choose recovery option. While the recovery discs, I received from HP refused to work with the new hard drive, the Vista restored cloned recovery partition without flaw.

  • Install the operating system after replacing the corrupted hard drive Asus q500a

The hard drive on my Asus Q500a is bad (he had checked the repairman). They told me that I could replace it (it will just keep failing until at last it dies just) but I have to re - install the operating system. The laptop comes with Windows 7 and I upgraded to 8 when it came out (I think). I don't have a recovery disk.

How can I replace the corrupted hard drive and re-install the operating system?

If I need to buy Windows 8, where can I find?

Would it not easier that I left the repair shop handle it?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Satellite U840W - replacement SSD with current hybrid HARD drive

I have this model U840W with a hybrid HARD drive (500 GB + 32 GB SSD cache), I would like to replace it with an mSATA SSD. My warranty is left about 2 months... I understand that if I open the bottom cover, the guarantee may be cancelled.

    Read the following thread:

What I don't understand is the "live in the mid under foot rubber", what is the best way to remove it? This seems to be the real challenge. A directive (preferably with photos)?

    Thanks in adv!

    Hello

I wouldn't recommend allows you to replace the hybrid HARD drive on your own even if hand warranty isn't valid anymore.
    Why?
Because the after replacing a drive HARD or SSD, RAID and TSRI (quick start of Intel technology) mode will not be available.

To rebuild the factory RAID mode and allow the TSRI, special tools are needed and this can be done by the authorized Toshiba maintainer.

So even if you would be able to remove the bottom cover and hybrids of HARD drive, the new inserted SSD would not be able to achieve the best performance.

This device was shipped with 20 GB HARD drive.
    You again is 40 GB.
I guess that the BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive because of the size.

  • Satellite A100 - 065 (PSAANA) - can I spend it with a SATA2 HARD drive?

    Hello Forum!

I want to upgrade to a hard disk of 120 GB (Hitachi) to a 500 GB (Western Digital). I don't know if this A100 supports SATA2.

I think it's to do with the hard disk controllers that are on the motherboard. This is information I don't think (using the pc Wizard). I am very happy to use a SATA drive, if it is the one which is compatible, but if it supports SATA 2, then obviously I would install a because they are 3GB of bandwidth instead of 1.5 GB as SATA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated that my hard drive is full.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You can use a SATA2 HDD without problems. These discs hard are compatible downgrade to the old SATA1 standard, so you can use 500 GB HARD drive, as you suggested.
But don t forget it will not work with SATA1 speeds, but this should not be a problem normally.

So have fun with the new HARD drive! ;)

  • Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830 68U118-t with a new hard drive. How can I get the bluetooth to work?

I have an Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830 t-68U118.  The original hard drive died, so I replaced it with a new hard drive.  I loaded Windows 7 x 64 and loaded the chipset drivers and the network drivers.  The laptop is always my bluetooth equipment (even if I loaded the drivers Atheros).  Does anyone else have this problem?  How can I get the bluetooth to work?

It would probably depend on the status of the warranty of the system.

You must contact the service for options.

"If the corrupted hard drive will be the OS can be installed again"

If the hard drive has minimal corruption in localized areas, you can reinstall Windows.  You will need to reformat the hard drive, however.  When you get to step in the installation process where it formats the hard drive, do not choose "quick" format  On the contrary, let him do a full format.

  • Synchronize folders with an external hard drive.

Can anyone help? I want to be able to sync my library and office with an external hard drive (Freecom on USB) files.  The goal is to be able to maintain an up to the minute backup of all my files, so that the next time my hard drive failure I have to absolutely all backed up. I am aware that that is not only the problem of accidental deletion of files so periodically I will also manually save the backup to a different folder on the same hard drive, or is it also possible to get windows to schedule this backup type automatically)? Or y at - it another way to achieve this level of security of the files without a mirror raid arrays (or spend more money on hardware or software)?

I've hit in this partition for a long time.

This is due to files not movable, scattered in open spaces.  Windows Disk Manager has a few limitations... You can use a thrid party as EaseUS Partition Master Free Edition 9.2.2 freeware utility

Its very easy to use and you can be dragged and resized your drive...
