  When you start your cs6 ps installation, you will be asked the ps cs6 serial number.  After entering the who (and for failing to find a product calling installed), the installation program invites you to select a product calling.

  If it is ps 5, select it from the drop-down list and asked the ps cs5 serial number.

  Enter the correct number at the right time and proceed with the installation.

  If your eligible product is ps cs5, but ps cs5.1 or something else that exact correspondence indicated under your account, your qualifying product serial number will be refused.

  I use Secunia PSI to monitor my software for updates. Just about the time CS6 shipped, PSI start of all my applications CS5 reports as meaning 'end of life', no more patches due out.

  In General, Adobe always stops releasing point versions of their software the minute that was released a new major version.

  12 version whatever it is either considered as CS5 and the 12.0.4 patch for Photoshop CS5 it brought up to be functionaly equivalent of Photoshop CS5.5 (except for cloud licenses).

  That said, there's a 12.0.5 which "half out" is to address concerns about a vulnerability when opening TIFF files which has been highlighted at the time of the CS6 Ps.  It is not clear if 12.0.5 is ever going to be released by the software update process.

  Out of curiosity, why do you use a part update 3rd package of surveillance?  Adobe is one of their own.
